Chuck G Violin bruh moment. It’s a perfect opener. It sets the base melody that’s going to be playing throughout the entire piece. It has a great oboe solo. Then when it gets past the slower bit and speeds ups, it’s the perfect amount. It gets a little more intense as it keeps playing, then it drops back down, making it a well rounded piece.
Its great. However, I would like to see the orchestra top of the screen with the synchronized score at the bottom but that would be a squeeze on the screen. Any others, for example, vocals, opera with synchronized score?
10:43 ... about the only worthwhile part of the entire symphony imho. The great solo woodwinds in the recap. This is very flawed work for a master. Tchaikovsky himself thought so. Gimmicky, patchwork, hysterical, nonsensical?
Probably my favorite symphony ever. I’ve listened to it hundreds of times. Especially when things were rough.
Arby n the Chief final episode.
Same...Such a wild ride.
Absolutely divine piece of music. I can feel the passion in it so well.
Just started doing it in my orchestra and I’m obsessed
Me too...
Such a crazy hard song to find. heard it in Arby n the Chief YEARS Ago, and wanted to find this after re-watching it recently. Such a beautiful song!
Same :P I noticed that Jon reupped the whole series, minus LA. Nice to have it back.
What episode is this in?
The swell on the last note is incredible
Grande esecuzione di Gergiev e grande performance dell'orchestra.
Seems like the odd
numbered symphonies
have more energy. ❤

I think Taneyev must have been to hard on Tchaikovsky when reading this piece.
Fantástica versión de verdad increible
Very good! Thank you!

Love the piece but some violist needs to get his open C under control.
Chris B a violin is tuned g d a e, no open c in place 🙄
@@deborahdewit4921 that's probably why he said violist

I just love the opening Grave, er, I mean, Adagio. What? Not adagio? Andante?!? Yeah, the beginning is way too slow.

@@swbdude9084 Introduction is too slow. Tchaikovsky didn't mark the tempo Largo for the intro.

Gergiev takes too many spineless liberties with the tempos. I'll stick to Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic.
I prefer Bernstein myself
I too prefer Bernstein's interpretation, but Gergiev's stringendo feels far more energetic.
