Also for the problems with lag I noticed something. There was creatures called Torish's Guardians that spawned the first time and upon reclaiming disappeared. I wonder if something about them contributed to the lag because they were not tame like the others.
My theory: they're sentient beings and after embarking they become like other historic figures and emigrated.
Usually sentient vault denizens don't leave the vault, but tampering with it may change it. Like conquering it on fort mode.
The ultimate end to every DF video. "This though?" :pans to a part of the map we haven't seen in a while that is now inexplicably on fire: "Bit of a problem."

Those minions were tame and friendly with the dwarves... Does that mean the angel which was also marked as tame would be friendly? because that would be wild.
I tried the embark and the angel is tame and friendly, but his fire attack burned the whole map down including the starter wagon.
@@thecoltster1 I wonder how effective it would be to trap the demon in a collection of turrets spread over the surface connected by tunnels, then hook up trap doors to the turrets to a lever to allow the demon to see the surface whenever there is a major threat that warrants burning the forest down.

Could you talk more about slade? When I first read about it on the TVTropes page for Dwarf Fortress, it seemed unbelievably cool, but when I looked it up, I found some forum threads talking about how it's too heavy to be useful. They said that if you have the strength to wield slade warhammers, you're better off with an adamantine sword anyway. Ultimately, the best way to use slade equipment is to give them to your enemies.
Also, adventure mode but you play as a modded slade colossus. That is all.
This game just never ceases to amaze.

Very neat! I might have to take a look at this start and mess with it myself. I think I can... do things with this seed and save.
I've never seen a vault in Fortress mode personally, and spent a fairly long time trying to find one in Adventure Mode but one thing which has caught my eye here is their domestication status. They are classified as domesticated. In theory, they should instead appear under the 'Other' category, as they should not belong to the fortress, and likely as 'Uninvited Guest' or something similarly obviously hostile. You can even see that they are butcherable, because the game is counting them as livestock. That does not strike me as normal.
I have a distinct idea in mind of what I would do with this and won't share it, just in case I actually do it (because that's A Video Idea right there), but this is fascinating.

Had like 3 dozen monsters come running out of it to steam roll my dwarves. I tried to go back with an adventurer to avenge my lost caravan but it was just gone. Any idea why it would disappear?

I have a very *very* specific question. If you have a character that is a vampire and you order them to go into a haunted biome with evil weather where the rain is lethal and causes the dead to rise, does it affect the vampire?

@@BlindiRL love to see something like this, it doesn't need to be this save in particular but taking over a big structure full of nasties would be a great watch. I love big projects like this and water/magma engineering, turning massive threats into a weapon.

I wish someone like krugsmash existed for aurora 4x. Defran strategy is close, but kind of a cheap copy. Cataclysm dda has a good one too. I forget her name though. I guess it's the slow pace combined with a lack of visual interest. Also, you can't look up shit about it. The wiki is good when the article is only a year out of date. On a game that changes quickly.

Nah cause in his video they were tame on his initial embark. Probably like when you reclaim a fortress sometimes there are evil things that are non hostile till they get attacked.
i hav some questions, about tecnologic tree, and min max of things, like if had an speed run of min max of teardrops humor for 3min(3 min being all seven dwarfs teardroping happy) most fast when hav nothing

Been watching your guides and they've been great, was hoping though you might redo one on the vermin catcher. As i've got one set up, made a bunch of animal traps/cages, and now i've got a bunch of full cages of tamed hampsters/rats/lizards, and i have no clue what to do with them, or how. I figured out i can stick them in a glass box as a terrarium but beyond that i'm clueless... Was hoping you may be able to provide some insight as i can't set them as pet like livestock
You sell them or put them on display. Thats about it.

I'm not sure about the specifics behind faction allegiance, but the whole part about this being created by a being aligned to a Dwarven deity makes me wonder. Might that be why they become part of the fortress population, by virtue of the dwarven civilization worshipping that same god?
from what ive seen on the wiki if you embark there they become pets for some reason

Didn't the slabs contain the names of one unique demon, leader of a goblin civ? That the gods for some reason brought to the world?

Slabs are deals made between a angel/demon and a god to go to the world. Slab is the contract.
