    Good job. Next time, please, also show people that you have to monitor brake liquid level in the bonnet once you start compressing the piston😊

    What size bolt do you need to force off the rotor? I'd think you'd be better using two bolts together!

      I don't remember the size tbh

    Do you have to change the pads if you are changing the disks?

    • @NewRoad
      @NewRoad  5 років тому

      Ideally yes - but if pads are in good condition (smooth) and have enough life left, you can keep it

    Hi! Do you happen to have the torque specs for the bracket ? And slider bolts? Thank you have a nice day

      Sorry, can't find my notes. Try to search suzuki forums - some of them have docs

      @@NewRoad I tried, even have the service manual but only can find for the rear drum version. I torqued it to 85 foot pounds and it’s still there so I think I’m fine hehe

    I think you are better removing the calliper from the carrier so you can properly clean up all the surfaces where the slider plates locate....one lump of rust under them causes the new pads to stick and drag against the disc.

      Sorry, I'm not 100% sure - but think it was M8x1.25 (8mm)

    I notice the handbrake was an inner drum, I assume you did not engage the handbrake for this operation?

      It should be released to remove rotor - just make sure you chock wheels so vehicle does not roll.

    What size/thread bolt did you use to get the rotors off?

      I think I found it. M8*1.25?

    Why didn't you cleaned the caliper?

    • @NewRoad
      @NewRoad  4 роки тому

      I always recommend to clear caliper with Brake Cleaner. To be honest, I can't recall if I did this time...

    This does not show rear brakes. They're front brakes.

    • @markbro4427
      @markbro4427 Рік тому +4

      That is the rear.... You can see the small brake shoes inside the combined disc/drum set up for the parking brake....the rubber plug fitted to the new disc as shown is for access to the parking brake shoe adjuster cam....you can also see the separate rear shock and spring...the front has a combined strut/spring shock absorber unit.
