I was literally singing "Hey Ya" yesterday with some friends XD that song never gets old
Agreed such a good song
+TaPP Plays Yeah but Outkast made a ton of better songs, like B.O.B.
Agreed
+That Guy on the Right But Hey Ya is only by Andre 3000
tbag tbagfm Yeah but it's usually credited to Outkast
Nothing can beat "Bee Gees - Stayin Alive". Its is the best dance song ever made.
+N ABHI someone knows the classical ones (y)
+N ABHI YMCA does
MARRO1190
Yes your are right the best one always get over played and overrated for generations.
+Chan Kang I can agree with YMCA, however Stayin Alive is even with YMCA and is slightly more recognizable then YMCA.
Stayin' Alive is overrated and overplayed. "In my opinion", dance these days kicks the ass of that song. Artists like Galantis, Swedish House Mafia, every song from project X, and others.
Can we just breathe and except the fact that all of MJs songs are all songs that people will get up and start dancing??? Even gone to soon
Laura Rosado not true. He left us just at the right time. God said “enough”.

As legendary as your name bro
When they showed #1, I thought "Stayin' Alive? What crap!" Then I realized I was sitting there dancing in my chair to it. Well played, Watch Mojo
my name is from Fall out boy's I don't care. LOL.
I don't Care what you think as long as its about me Y'know, I googled it right after I asked you (DUH, right?) and saw that it's from a Fallout Boy song, but I SWEAR it's also in another song.... I've definitely heard that expression before. In fact, it's kinda been bugging me all day!
Shane Hennenhoefer well I hope you find it. :D
I don't Care what you think as long as its about me I finally figured it out! In the Nirvana song "Drain You" there is a lyric that says "I don't care what you think unless it is about me." THAT'S what I was thinking of. Hmmm, perhaps fallout boy found inspiration to write that song from listening to Nirvana...
Shane Hennenhoefer The writer for fall out boy Pete Wentz is a big Nirvana fan and a big Sex pistols fan
September by earth wind and fire better be here
Or let's groove
+Smallafro Games why are you making this refrence
My man
+Nick stem It's not really a reference...
Hi
sadly...Avicii died this year at the age of 28 or 29 so he may rest in peace in our hearts
R.I.P Avicii 1989 - 2018
Levels even couldve made in it this list easilyy
Don't Stop Til You Get Enough - Michael Jackson (1979) & Get Down Tonight - KC & The Sunshine Band (1975) always catapult me out of my seat to dance!!
Hey Ya! is the one song I will drop whatever I'm doing to dance to.
Number one for sure.
lmao same
girls wanna have fun makes me fuck my dog
+cory anime what the actually hell.........
YESSSSSS
I'm so glad that disco-like pop is starting to come back. Disco is really awesome.
+EmperorTigerstar Right, its so great!!
+EmperorTigerstar Hieeeee. I like yr channel btw
+EmperorTigerstar How is disco coming back? In what new song as of late is any element of Disco present???
+EmperorTigerstar actually nevermind...
I agree! And it's very easy to dance to, which makes it a lot more fun.
How is September not on this list. Literally the song that everyone stands up and starts dancing no matter what they are doing
It's the second meaning of disco.
ABBA: GIMME! GIMME! GIMME! ( A MAN AFTER MIDNIGHT ), THE BASS LINE, OUT OF THIS WORLD💫🤩💖
Stayin Alive is amazing!
It grabs you the minute it starts! I love the bee gees
No MC Hammer? You can't touch this without including MC Hammer
ikr
+Nathan Shlapobersky exactly
im agree with you dude
+Ilham Putra learn english
Cant touch this is stolen from super freak
"It's Raining Men"?! How could this not be included even as an honorable mention?
eyechartny hallelujah
"MACARENA" is synonymous to DANCE HIT/SONG.
How did you forget that?
Any Michael Jackson song makes me want to dance
yulianaxoo heal the world????
Lol
Have you seen my childhood? 😂
@@raymouton6050 well it makes you want have a lighter and raise your hand and move like you are on a concert
Billie Jean is not my lover
So glad there's no 2010s songs on this list. Our music sucks though.
Yeah this new generations music is basically auto tuned sharts on a UA-cam copyright free "instrumental"
this is true
Disclosure
Not really, every generation has some horrible. One contender for this list would have to be Uptown Funk, who doesn't want to dance when they hear that???
+Rafael Nahafahik me
Incomplete without ' Funky Town' by lipps inc
YES
I guess you should have just made one set for each decade.. because honestly, you missed a lot.
No but I usually walk different lol
Mench Lota : Yes, I must agree. The only songs I thought belonged on this list was Billie Jean and Disco Inferno. ABBA , Er NO. While a happy kind of song, I don’t feel like dancing to the tune. The same with the remaining songs. Very poor list.
A L O T
So, you're telling me that "Just Dance" was released 8 years ago?
.......wwhhhaaaaaAAAAATTTTTT?!?!?!
I feel old
8 damn I feel like it came out like last year 😂
10*
What about ymca everyone know and dances to it with almost flash mob precision.
Truth!
+Darren Newton Don't forget the Macharana!
yes
MJ what an amazing talent. So sad he’s gone.
EARTH WIND AND FIRE DEMANDS RECOGNITION🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥📢📢📢📢📢
21st night of September!
YES EARTH WIND AND 🔥 FIRE
Where the fuck is Y.M.C.A???????!?!!?!???
TRUE!!
where is whip nae nae
+Jake Bishop No
+Jake Bishop I agree that song is pretty horrible I hate it so bad
+Jake Bishop no, that songs sucks and the dance is a sign that humanity is losing IQs.
Next doTop Ten Dance Songs of All Time... That You Can Actually Dance To
you have never been to a club have you? you can dance to ALL of these songs
+Voytek jumping around and pumping your fist is not dancing.
Shaun Handy
waltz, quick step, cha-cha, samba..
aka ballroom dancing
+Gizmos Monster Except that's not what happens. If you can't dance to these songs, you have no rhythm. Simple as that.
+Gizmos Monster It's called club dancing. If you can ballroom dance but can't dance what you actually feel when hearing the music, you might be lacking rhythm. Anyone can learn the steps to a ballroom dance (all you have to do is know the steps and counts), club dancing is dancing to what you feel which can go from "jumping around and pumping your fist" to dancing that is even more impressive to watch then master tango dancers.
My personal favourite:
Billie Jean, Beat it, thriller, Smooth criminal(MJ), Gimme Gimme A man after midnight (ABBA), I wanna dance with somebody (Whitney Houston), self control (Laura Branigan), Cause you are young (C.C. Catch), I will survive ( Gloria Gaynor), one way ticket (eruption), tell it my heart(Taylor Dayne), you're my love(Patty Ryan), Into the groove (Madonna), This is what you came for(Rihanna)
Born Slippy by Underworld always used to get me on the dance floor. I miss dancing so much.
I'm shocked that Gonna' Make You Sweat(Everybosy Dance Now)didn't make the list. Not one of my favourites, but it was so popular, much more than some of these songs.
I agree. As much as I love all the songs on this list, there's a couple where Gonna Make You Sweat would have taken its place.
True
Billie Jean makes me dance like crazy
Maybe you need to see a doctor about that.
True
@@JackSparrow-rv3cc most known too as well as being in the best selling album of all time Thriller
Bee Gees deserves No.1 for sure, forever dance song champion.
No way 😂 billie Jean undoubtedly should of been first
80s singers are always legends
How could forget The Pointer Sisters "i'm so excited".
Billie jean should be first because it won everything, changed the way we dance today, changed songs and broke racial differences. And most famous song ever and never gets old.
Exactly
do you feel like shaking or dance when they play the song Billie Jean anytime? for me, i dun think so. Billie Jean more like a song i would enjoy listening while driving slowly
@@minexposeb8349 um yes? Isn't that the point? Have you ever seen dance for billie jean? Leg kick and all.. whenever I hear that song I always start to dance. You can't sit still in the car on that song wtf
Billie Jean Yes. it has the sweet bass i enjoy. occasionally i fall asleep quicker with it. like a lullaby.
@@minexposeb8349 HOW lmao
September - Earth Wind & Fire
You Make Me Feel Like Dancing - Leo Sayer
Mr Brightside - the Killers
CC Music Factory's Everybody Dance Now? Not even an honorable mention?!
Guess: 1 YMCA 2 Cha Cha Slide 3 Cupid Shuffle
THIS LIST WAS AWFUL
+Evan Lmao Cha Cha slide and Cupid Shuffle. Hahahaha.
+Evan I also expected at least something by Boney M. Quite dissapointing video.
those should be in another category with the macharena and the electric slide
+Evan I'm surprised We Are Family wasn't on the list...that song still gets the dance floor filled up 40 years later
If you don't have the time (:
10: ABBA, Dancing Queen.
9:Daft Punk, One more time.
8:The Tramps, Disco Inferno.
7:Outkast, Hey ya.
6:Deelight, Groove is in the heart.
5:Kool and the gang, Celebration.
4:Madonna, Holiday.
3:Gloria Ganer, I will Survive.
2:Michael Jackson, Billy Jean.
1:Bee Gees, Staying alive
thanks buddy :)
They missed What is Love by Haddaway.
where is september? anyone else? it is on all of my fun playlists, i could jam to that song, and I will forever jam to that song even harder than i ever jammed to god's plan.
Dj got us fullen in love again
Wait so one more time was higher than hey ya on the 2000's list but hey ya is higher on this list? This proves that watchmojo is complete bs
I KNOW RIGHT
It's the people who vote. They pick shitty things to be placed higher than others a lot.
One more time deserved to be a lot higher
+Chin Chin Outkast has made a ton of songs that are much better than Hey Ya. Take for example B.O.B.
The All Time lists take in account impact outside of the decade they made the list in. Hey Ya had a longer lasting appeal that One More Time.
Also, autotune is awful.
Rock with you by MJ
+Aicarg C. That should be in the top 10 Disco Songs, but I think it's more relaxing than upbeat.
+mrbrockpeters me to!
I think “September” and “What is love” deserved a spot.
Missing Earth Wind and Fire, the reference in the 70's for any disco
+1 if you want a top 10 bass-guitars
Yes!
and hoping to see very small amount of metal bassists in that list
I like Paul McCartney
+Stephen Whithead me too and the Beatles too. A Die hard fan
I like Paul McCartney and John Entwistle.
DO TOP TEN TOP TENS
Yeah good idea
They already did a top ten "watchmojo top tens"
They have done it yearly
they did it
+the funny kid legend.
awesome That staying alive was number one. Take care and I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a good new year from me in Hamilton Ontario Canada
Have the people who made this list ever been on a dance floor? Madonna???? Cyndi Lauper??? I am from that generation and i haven't seen a girl get up and dance to either of those songs since the 80's. In fact, i don't think i have even heard either of those songs played anywhere dancing was involved since the 80's. I'm with dude who said Y.M.C.A. that still fills the dance floor.
Could not agree with you more.
Top 10 Dance Song *of all time*
Into the groove should've been on this list instead. Holiday is a classic though.
Never heard of number 6 on the list.
Lol ikr
Shawn St.kitts Yeah, no wonder. It sucks. Why was it on this list?
+TheRyumancer yes it was on the list
Shawn St.kitts Yeah but WHY was it on the list. The other 9 choices on the list were much better.
+TheRyumancer it was popular in its time
Y.M.C.A?
footloose?
You don’t know ymca you be crazy
those 2 or the worse songs ever made
I like that song
xxenna66 WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU!!!!!!!!
no...
Dang, I was really hoping to see Love Shack Baby on this list or at least an honorable mention.
🤮
You left out a most important one -- DANCING IN THE STREET by Martha and the Vandellas -- pure JOY!
anyone think of Jim Moriarty for the number 1? ;)
Hahahahahahah same
Miriarty knows, what good music is ;)
You win!!!!!
Yeah 😂
definitely 😆
Iconic dance songs that also inspired their own moves...YMCA?
Good List...some I didn't recognize, but the ones I did....I was bobbing too. Good List.
Ten seconds in, I knew this would be a good list. I was not dissatisfied, and nostalgia took over from there. Dancing Queen was one of my favorite songs even though I wasnt even born in the 70s. Don't even get me started on "One more Time", "Hey Ya!", and "Levels"
without watching this video. It's Michael Jackson - Billie Jean!
No ifs and no buts. No argument needed. You only have to hear the 1st 2 bars and it hits you like no other dance tune ever has or ever will again. I remember wen I was djing in a club once in the late 90s with a mixed aged audience. Some of the tunes weren't hitting the crowd. so I dropped Billie Jean in the mix, 20 seconds later the dance floor was full! Easily the ultimate floor filler and simply the greatest dance tune ever created and will never ever be topped period.
Yes compilation
prince - 1999 wasnt mentioned once in this video.. i had high hopes for you mojo, you let me down.
Yes. Best song ever period.
Two thousand zero zero, party over, oops! Out of time! Tonite we’re gonna party like it’s 1999!
Another one I can't sit still when I hear it is "you dropped a bomb on me" 😁
Little known fact: If not for,'Thriller',the,'Saturday Night Fever',soundtrack would be the biggest selling album of all time.
Top 10 Songs That No One Knows The Name To but Has Heard It
Raegen Keller id fuck it
No Chubby Checker's "The Twist"?

kiby Wayne388 those songs literally makes me break out into a dance
totally agree!! 👍
Nini Buenaño yes!!..the 70s were awesome time for dancing music.....
Yessir!
Exactly....'cause #1 is complete NOT the one....
Losing you by Uptown. Maybe too local, but in the late 80's early 90's we ran to the floor when this came on!
"Dancing Queen" is more of a sing-a-long song than a dancing song. Doesn't make me want to dance at all, but I do sing along.
🤮
Where's "September" by Earth, Wind and Fire?
Dancing Queen at no.10? Really? Should be higher!
Shouldve been number 1 or 2.
Samuel Preston Agree
Disco will never die this list proved it!!!
So many classics!
Killer Queen & Bohemian Rhapsody give me chills ahhhh love those songs
Same
KarissasLife How do you dance to Bohemian Rhapsody?!
BadlndsBob lmao I just realized this video was about dance songs. I guess I just read the comments full of great songs and felt the need to contribute haha
I personally think that Queen was the greatest band of all time, but I disagree with your selection. They are both beautiful songs in their own right, but hardly dancable. The 3 songs, off the top of my head, that better suit the category would be: Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Don't Stop Me Now, and Another One Bites The Dust. Please don't take offense. I thought the title of the list was extremely misleading to start with. God Save The Queen!
BILLIE JEAN!!!! YASSSS MOONWALK ABE, DONT LET THE HATERS GET TO YOUUUUU!!!!!
BOSS OF THE DANCE FLOORRRRRR!!!
yasssss
Moonwalker 100%

MJ haters are idiots !
these are amazing dance songs "live forever" when you here these songs you feel good and want to dance
Great Hits
I fucking knew Billie Jean was going to be here.
Why wouldn't it be
Top 10 funk music.
that would be cool
+MORE GAMER The Discoo Night
rapper's delight
+Shawn Júnior "I Rather Be With You" or "Sex Machine"
+1! James Brown would top it no doubt
Every time Hey Ya plays my mood improves by 20%
Stayin' Alive is undoubtedly #1 dance song of all time.
MJ FOR EVER
Miss him :(
I feel like there could be an entire top 10 list of Michael Jackson songs that could be considered dance songs.
Madonna tho
1. Beat it.
2. Smooth Criminal.
3. Bad.
4. Thriller.
5. Billie Jean
6. DIRTY Diana.
7. Hollywood tonight.
8. The way you make me feel.
9. You rock my world.
10. Off the wall.
@@tired3740 DSTYGE is also an interesting dance song.
@@ethanang3527 love this high vocals mann
No. I will never dance on a pedophile song
lovely list.
Bee Gees totally deserve #1
Frankie Lemmer almost all their songs 👑👑👑🙌🏽
Phon Danith The Brothers Gibb better known as The Bee Gees were one of the most icon bands of the 70s specifically in the genre of disco. I was born in 1988 and I totally love their music. If you want a TASTE of how great they are listen to YOU SHOULD BE DANCING first. ❣️
No

In the early 2000s, I saw the trammps at a disco concert, you're right you can't avoid getting up and dancing
Damn im always gonna remeber these songs
but i wish avici songs were here
In my opinion bille Jean should be number one
Panic! At the Never land ranch nop lol abba should be the first
Mad Alexander Nope
Kinda thought C & C Music Factory would be on this one. Gonna Make You Sweat
I thought that would be number 1.
That song should be #1 Best dance song ever
Donna McManus - C&C Music Factory or Snap - I've Got The Power.
I agree with their number 1 song. Stayin' Alive is one of my most favorite songs.
But like...no prince? "1999, let's go crazy? Wtfff
Every EWF song ever? I swear, those guys have the disco flu and it's purely contagious.
Shake your Groove Thing by Peaches and Herbs? ;)

IKR....😊
???
Clash Of Clans Videos C'mon that is a great dance song
+MJNerd c: YEAH!!!
Did anyone else get chills when he paused before saying "Jackson"
Everybody Dance Now! C&C Music Factory
Party Rock Anthem is one of the biggest radio hits of all time.
+TheOakAsWay Five minutes ago wow
I listen to "Stayin Alive" when I walk down the streets dramatically so every step is a secret dance move
My remarks:
ABBA should be above Madonna
"Beat It" is miles better than "Billie Jean"
Bee Gees definitely do deserve to be first
Swap Hey Ya for Freak. Le freak. C'est chic!
And here are some songs by other artists that definitely should be mentioned here:
Rhythm Is a Dancer (Snap)
Mr Vain (Culture Beat)
The Sweetest Elixir (Medusa)
I Was Made For Loving You (KISS)
Flames Of Love (Fancy)
Be My Lover (La Bouche)
Other than that, really enjoyed the video!
Beat it and Billie jean are both good, BJ is more of a dance classic though.
The Sweetest Elixir is great, but "Luxury Crisis" is my absolute favorite by Medusa!
You're so right about the Medusa song!! ua-cam.com/video/0izBfVu2w9o/v-deo.html
Whaaat! What you know about Chic?! My favorite group of all time. :)
@@samwell2386 I guess it's kinda true but let me just say that my honest opinion on these songs is that I frankly think that Beat it might be well the better song if you want a good song for dancing while BJ is simply the far more catchy song and seriously to me honestly and personally it's possibly the catchiest and most super insanely ICONIC song that MJ EVER performed PERIOD maybe I've exaggerated but hey its my own personal opinion that I've been talking about here and let me make myself clear when I say that I didn't EVER say that only one of them is catchy while the other isn't or that only one of them is iconic while the isn't or even that only one of them is the good dancing song while other song isn't or whatever the point is that I think in my own personal opinion that BJ is simply the more catchy and iconic song while beat it is simply the better song for dancing
Macarena? Gangnam style? YMCA? Single ladies? Waka waka? Part Rock Anthem? U can't touch this?
They said songs from 1970’s till mid 2000’s
