I dont know why yt pushed this video to me as its nothing like i usually watch but i really enjoyed it and have since watched most of your orher videos. Taken my kids camping a bunch of times but now i feel like getting some alone time in the bush would be good for me.
I really enjoy listening to your accent. 😊 I wonder if it's typical for Victoria and if there is a big difference to people's accent in let's say Perth on the other side of Australia? I follow a few other American/Canadian English speaking outdoor youtubers, so finding your channel and listening to your pronounciation makes you really stand out to me in addition to the great content. Love the relaxed style of your videos. Greetings from Germany
Yeah people always say there is a bit of a difference in accent with someone say from Victoria and someone from Queensland. Great to see some Europeons watching the channel!
There's only one obvious difference in accents between states. NSW and SA have a long "a" (á); other states have a short "a" in some words, eg "castle" or "grant". The second "a" in the name of our national anthem, "Advance Australia Fair" gets pronounced differently according to who's singing it. However, when I meet random Aussies o/s, I can usually tell who are my fellow Victorians from the way we talk. I don't know why, though there might be subtle visual or cultural clues too. Then again we make up 25% of the Strayan population, so it's a 1 in 4 chance of getting it right! Thanks for taking an interest in us. Where the BB is walking is in remote NW Vic, I think it's the Hattah-Kulkyne region.
Awesome stuff mate. I really enjoyed that. Beautiful scenery and must have been awesome camping out. Surprising how cold it gets at night. Man if you had a rifle and fishing gear you could survive a long time out there with all the wildlife. You must have lost a few kilos walking so much on those meagre rations!!! Keep up the great work Brother 🇦🇺 🇳🇿

Thanks for watching! Any type of camping is great I say. I don't mind a cosy camp by the car as well.
Well done for having another crack the hard way Luke. Really enjoyed the filming also, taking in the scenery and music match, especially down by the Murray. Have a piece of Jack Stillman arriving this week, quality gear. Thanks for the vid 👍
Ps finished the SBS series ‘Australian Wars’ also today, you may find it interesting to see how the country was opened up, new info to me…
Thanks for watching mate really appreciate it. Hope you enjoy your jack stillman gear.
Another epic film thank you
Cheers mate thanks for watching!
Amazing footage of the Murray River, the silence of being out there alone would of been crazy good. The colors of the sky were brilliant.
I have to try the jerky trick at home I never thought about that idea.
Thanks for watching. Yeah it was a suggestion from someone in the comment of my last swagman video. I love being able to learn ideas from my audience, I never would of thought to do that.
Loved your video! Looking forward to more of them! Thanks for making them!
I appreciate it. Plenty more to come.
Great video Luke. I love the traditional swagman gear.
Cheers thanks, plenty more videos with traditional gear to come.
How do you not have a millions subscribers. Excellent content, thank you 💜 from w🇦🇺
haha thanks I appreciate it. Slowly growing the channel so we will see how it goes.
Great river. I spent 3 months last year with me dog going down from Yarrawonga to ocean entrance and back again. Ie by boat. Great camping.
That is a very big stretch of the Murray! very impressive! I'm actually looking at doing the lower ovens this week which is just a little south of Yarrawonga (in canoe)
I'd love to do the murray again but in an old vintage dingy
Well worth it. Hoping to do it again next winter. But will take a bit more time.
Great vids to OLDMATE 👍
I'd say Luke & Rodders should get together, although finding a comparable hiker buddy can be problematic. One keeps lizard as a pet one eats lizard as dinner ! Ooch! 😂
Great video Luke. The outback is a great place.
Yeah it really is, I'd be happy to keep heading back out there (even though it's a big drive for me)
Morning morning mate..awesome trek, love hearing a bit of history as your moving along about thee old swagmen, I find it so interesting.
Such a beautiful country indeed you live in.
Have an amazing week ahead, I'm still trying to figure out a more comfortable way for my shoulder to..
Oh cheers mate thanks for watching. I recently bought a swag strap from souther land bushcraft leather works and I think this will help a lot more for a swag strap.
A good leather strap is worth looking into.
@TheBeardedBushranger +Ello ello always a pleasure mate..I'll look into it.. having a boney shoulder dosnt help lol, I've tried sponges for extra padding but I'll definitely look into your idea thanks.
im still watching the video now bloody good stuff different to camping here in nz
Thanks mate, yeah I'm sure NZ is much more forest and mountains!
Best one yet.
haha cheers mate. Now to get into the hunting ey
@@TheBeardedBushranger chuck an emu on the coals
Awesome stuff mate. Love the minimalist approach. I'm going to have a crack at making my own Oilskin tarp.
yeah mate, just 50% linseed oil and 50% turps (you can use mineral turps, but gum turps might be best)
Hey Luke, awesome video buddy. Great Vic outback. Loved it
Thanks mate! Little bit different to cape liptrap 😂
Another great walk Excellent!
Cheers thanks heaps for watching.
Great video! Take care,I’m envious! ATB! Sam Adler from Vietnam
Cool to see some folks from vietnam watching.
Thank you for showing us a part of Australia nature.
And thank you for watching.
That sheepskin roll is awesome. Great video Luke, you've made me want to do a trip along the Murray.
Thanks mate! I'd love to see you do a trip along there (in fact I'd love to see more of your vids in general haha)
@@TheBeardedBushranger haha cheers mate I've got 4 new videos in the pipeline- will hopefully have something out within a month
I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Thanks, mate.
Cheers, I appreciate you taking the time to watch.
Good on ya Luke.
Cheers mate
Great video once again, awesome stuff Luke!
Thanks for watching.
There's nowhere I'd rather be, than where u are, doing what ur doing.
A true sense of freedom. Difficult, yet highly rewarding. This element of life has gone, along with true happiness and having a purpose that gets us thru each day. We no longer live to survive. We live for money.
Gosh yeah 👍
For me, $ = irrelevant _ I long to get back to nature & Go Bush & learn about plants/& Bush Medicine 😁😍🦘
@@WendyShaw-is4upHi, If ur young enuf, strike out and learn as much as possible. Don't be reckless, jst be conscious that all of this fades, leaving only the things u NEVER got around to doing.

I'm 58yrs young 😄 & my body is a bit broken down, but I'm dedicating th nxt 2 yrs to improving my health & stamina & making smart food/ exercise choices, so I can b a better version of myself in my *60's & go on adventures_

I've so far lost 9-10kgs

Watching yr vids encourages me to strive towards my goals in a positive way_ 😍

@@WendyShaw-is4up It's refreshing to hear positivity like urs. I'm 52 and am overweight but I'm doing my best to change things. I have a bunch going on, which makes things challenging. I'll get there.Life can be difficult that way. As I said, it's good to hear of a positive outlook from someone, it inspired a bit of hope. U have done well, u are almost at ur goal. I respect that, it's not easy.
Best of days to u.
@@TheOneHundredPercent 🥰 Thanku _ weightloss, is not an easy task, I very much empathise with u, th trick is finding wot works best for u, keep at it, ur doin gr8 😍
th 1st step of positive change is 1. Wanting to change 👍 *This is my 3rd big attempt ( I've lost weight b4 & it found me again 😍) I've tried many diets ovr 27yrs_ & wot I've personally found is: anyone 50+ will benefit from cutting th carbs & increase th protein _ I tried being vegetarian, but my body needs quality red meat too_
so my needs come first. This is th main thing I've changed recently & it's working 😀 I haven't had my weight unda 90kgs since 2009_ so no matter how long it takes, or how many attempts, just keep on trying 😉 best of luck 👍😍💪🦘

Mate, thoroughly enjoyed your bush walking adventure. Another huge effort. The Australian outback is such a brilliant place to visit and experience. Good to see you emulating the swag days, tough times. Hey and watch out for those snakes too mate, they're out now. Looking forward to your next adventure. Greetings from Hunter Valley, NSW. PS loved the spam also.
Yeah I did see one brown snake on this trip, so they are definantly around. It makes it a little bit sketchy when cow boy camping.
Thanks heaps for watching.
@@TheBeardedBushranger Do I hear brown snakes are an invasive pest in Aussie? & NZ? If so would you have any qualms in dispatching such, Luke?
@@BelleBlu Nah not a pest. they are native and big big fines for killing a snake out here
Awesome video mate! It grew my curiosity of the Murray River
Yeah beautiful river, and so much to explore. Good thing is most of the camping along the murray is free as well.
You found what I think is a paddymelon, nothing eats them.and neither should you. If I were to do what you do camping rough I would be scraping a hip hole to ease the pressure on the old bones at night. Keep up the good work,
Yeah I was camping on sand on the first 2 nights so it was quite comfy, last night was a bit rough.
Awesome video mate! I'm in taminick Victoria. Just between wangaratta and benalla on the top of the warby ranges. Overlooking Glenrowan. I'm on 380 acres of bush and the Kelly gang used to have horse corrals on our property. If you ever want to come for a camp and a visit, let me know. It's a great spot.
Gday mate, thanks for watching the vid. That actually sounds pretty bloody awesome and I appreciate that offer. I've often thought about camping out in areas where famous bushrangers frequented and making a video around that history. I'd probs take you up on that offer in the future. You have an insta? Otherwise you can send me an email on ooeeluke@hotmail.com so I have your contant.
Thanks heaps mate.
Great video, I love the effort to do it 'swagman style'. You have a great eye for videography & you have some beautiful shots there. Looking forward to future old style vids. Ps. As a Northern Territorian I would freeze solid in 3c!
Thanks for that! The NT really is a wild looking place. Kind of like Australias last frontier.
Absolutely love it,your living my dream, your such a lucky bloke, love your vids mate
Thanks mate.
Enjoy your videos! Thanks
And thanks for watching.
Lovelly video
Thank you
Love your vids.
Not sure if someone in the comments has said but that melon thing you didn’t know what was, it’s called a paddy melon (there usually green) Don’t eat them, they will make you sick. There common were I’m from in NSW.
Thanks for watching! Yeah lots of people have told me about the toxic paddy melon, which I now know not to touch!
i was checking youtube waiting for another video! this is awesome
haha good stuff
Anither great adventure mate! Love your work!
Cheers mate, thanks for watching.
Outstanding! ❤
Thanks mate.
Wonderful video, mate.
Thanks heaps mate.
I dont know why yt pushed this video to me as its nothing like i usually watch but i really enjoyed it and have since watched most of your orher videos. Taken my kids camping a bunch of times but now i feel like getting some alone time in the bush would be good for me.
That's great to hear! Thanks for watching. I actually love taking my kids camping as well, that can be pretty special to do.
Awesome Mate thoroughly enjoyed walking with you on this trip
Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed the video.

Wow those shots from your last night are unreal!! Great video, makes me wanna go walkabout!

Awesome video and greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
My motherland haha I'm a 'Vandenberg'
Thanks for watching.
Another great video mate! Great work! Love what you do brother 😊
Thanks heaps Johno! hope you and the family are well.
Aaaahh, 😊 What an enjoyable experience.
Legend, thanks heaps for watching.
Good video red beard injoying your content 👍👍
Cheers mate thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching mate! Yeah though in this park they don't allow firearms (even though so many feral goats and pigs around)
I should of brought my rod though the murray cod season is closed right now.
Great video really enjoyed it 👍
Thanks mate.
This was an epic one mate. Beaut country, big effort, historical context made a great vid. Congrats and cheers for these style vids. Dunno how your gunna out-do this one, well done! 👍👍
haha thanks heaps kurt! Yeah that's always my problem as well .. trying to outdo previous trips.
