Thanks for this video. I'm a pinball guy but am doing a minor restore of a Ms Pacman cocktail for a friend and I had the partial screen discoloration issue. Appreciate all your videos.
Saw an original PAC MAN cab sitting behind a gate in the 2nd part of the Miami Vice pilot "Brothers Keeper" :) some others cab's with it but they arent really identifiable
KingHenryVR4 yes...sometimes, they have to keep identities secret. We just rented an Asteroids and a Centipede for an episode of The Americans TV show...for a "sports Bar" scene that's set in 1982. They had clearances for Atari.
TNT Amusements Inc I think it was a real arcade that Tubbs walked by for the shot but it was just too dark on the inside to see the others, cept for pacman since it was right at the front entrance, I've noticed 80s-90s shows like Married With Children - Sabrina The Teenage Witch that show arcades in the back ground an they just have generic marquee's on the front of them
The monitor's colors change because of the change in relation to the earth's magnetic field. You can see the same thing if you take a CRT TV and turn it on its side. The wire loop around the front of the CRT is the degausing coil and is turned on for a moment when the monitor is powered up to "undo" any magnetism the earth puts into the CRT.
I don't know what it's like in America but here in the UK videogames have all but disappeared from most arcades. Year upon year there seem to be fewer videogames and more slot machines, claw cranes, merchandisers, sit-in units etc. Certainly it is very rare to see a "standard" upright cabinet with a non-3D game. Maybe I'm just being nostalgic but to me it's kind of sad. That's why I appreciate these kind of videos so much.
Could have got the stencils, paints, sanded the cab and done it properly. Myself, I went with the vinyl option. Don't like the black side on this, might as well make it a Galaga!
We have sold over 500 Ms Pacmans...but people like to save a little money without restored sideart...or the room they want to put it in didn;t demand a pink and blue cabinet! We have gotten games traded in that were painted all sorts of colors!
Nice Ms Pac-Man Todd, even with just plain black sides. In most arcade settings, you're not going to see them anyway! Ever do the "turbo" button mods to these? I think you can set them into turbo from the menu, but I remember seeing some machines with a button on them for turbo. Great job as usual guys.
Scott Cagney Several Bally Midway boards do not have an external power supply. This logic board makes its 5 and 12 volts right on the board...the capacitors are part of the two circuits. Changing the capacitors is like putting in a new power supply!
I not sure if exist but I seen a UA-cam clip that was shut down pretty fast about a Ms. Pacman type Arcade Cabinet the had two analog sticks and can play two players at the same time. Is this true that the two rare existing cabinets are real or completely fake.
Todd, can you please help me out and tell me why the screen scroll the colors and number patterns? I'm having problems with my arcade and it's doing this motion over and over and it keeps reapeating. When I close the door panel then it shows the regular ghosts gathering around the intro box but as soon as you put a quarter or start it up then it goes into that pattern problem again and also there is a odd beating sound coming through the speakers. I know I seen this pattern before by testing something but now it just does it on it's own. Is there a button I need to press or something on the door panel because I forgot if there is one? Thanks, Mike
now we know why we have a degause (sp button on the older tv's doubt LCD has that. although they still claim don't put a cow magnet on it. :) I've tried doesn't do a thing :P course the lcd sucked so obviously....anything to get a stuck pixel to move. as for the projector. sigh if only printers today lasted like they used to. $200 Canon MX870 pixma printer meh I guess I'm supposed to learn how to fix it. bigger electronic waste people than throwing pinballs off roofs bad Canon!! for the moment I hacked the thing so it runs fine.. stupid B200 error.. looks like Ms Pac Man needs a vacuum and whatever IA gets , TNT seems to get. we got a trace just say .. hey at least the fans won't be an issue :)
Gotta try this

***** That's right...this is why you let it sit before turning back on.

Eric Miller Yes...an Overhaul...next week!

I believe there was about 150,000 Ms. Pac Mans one of the best video arcade games ever.
rarecoolitems Yes...its #1 for sure, and the most produced arcade game.
Haha new sub I love you funny videos and great input. There is a ms Pacman video out of the factory. I just found it the other day, great video

Paul M Thanks! The button was an aftermarket addition that can be done...but so far no one has asked yet!
There's actually some footage of them being made here 5 Minutes in the Ms. Pac-Man Factory, 1982.
How cool is that!
The calendar on the wall was a nice break from Tod's face ;)
I heard that!
lets see the killer instinct and house of the dead 4
House of Dead posting soon
That's an all time classic in arcades. It still looks nice with just the black glossy paint on the sides.
Stupid question, what the point of the capacitor on the logic board?

Is there a super pac man game
Joey Kuzinski Yes there is!

reseat the chips and also the little daughter boards on the main logic board, check the 4 fueses on the bottom of the game too..
I will test each one you mention and I know it's a simple problem so thank you for the tip Todd.
I've never taken our 16mm projector or any of the 8mm ones we have laying around apart to see how they work.
now we know why we have a degause (sp button on the older tv's doubt LCD has that. although they still claim don't put a cow magnet on it.
