@@a.m7112 Nope, it's not. It's just yet another excuse to monitor us and take away our rights to privacy. I don't see why I should suffer for the sake of the actions of a small minority of criminals. Here's an idea, get some Police patrolling the streets again.

@@a.m7112That'll still happen with these facial recognition tech. It won't apply to certain individuals, such as the police, and certain organisations will be exempt. They will have a way round it. It will be misused by the corrupt, same as everything else. You have an awful lot of trust in our society which is heading down the route of China. The innocent and non 'street wise' will suffer the most.

    I don't care if it's 100% reliable.
What "crimes" will it finally be used for? Out of date TV licence? Is our privacy sacrosanct or available to the highest bidder/hacker?

This will only apply to ordinary citizens; bureaucrats, politicians, police, financiers, tech and corporate heads will be exempt --- or behind the monitors.

This is an outrageous assault on privacy. And why is that ignorant pig proud of arresting people for possession of drugs? The war on drugs is an utter failure and urgently needs a strategy review.

I think so much has changed over the last few decades some are good and some are bad, but as technology progresses there has to be a level of healthy skepticism to ask the question to whom in society does it really benefit, is it the whole community at large or only a few at the top gets the piece of the pie and what are the mechanism to balance out those groups in a fair and just manner, these sort of technology needs to be evaluated, debated and put into a vote by the public because it is concerning to see how much power the government have on the individuals nowadays even in a democratic society.
I don't know if you guys have known the patterns already, first they introduced finger prints globally (by globalists), then non-consent full body searches and now this so called 'Facial Recognition' technology, so what's next implant a chip into our brain. I think any individuals in society ought to ask and start questioning when is enough because it is starting to get ridiculous and intrusive not the betterment for society though.

Dreadful technology. But unfortunately, it has become a ubiquitous presence in our daily lives. This is the result of the never-ending attacks by deranged by ideology individuals, who fit the technical definition of insanity. Therefore what are the nation-states to do? Allow these constant attacks to go on indefinitely? We all end up paying the price with our loss privacy with no assurance of our safety. What a horrible state of affairs.

is *every* police officer and politician also having *their* faces scanned into the system, too, at least?? either way, the ends *don't* justify the means.. good on this guy for bringing a lawsuit.👍
and he's right: *of course* tptb will abuse it.. when have they *ever NOT* abused their power.. in what nation has that ever been the case??🙄
and cameras in a private home is *very* different than having cameras in public spaces..and not all CCTV cameras around the world (yet) are using facial recognition software.. but it's coming, for sure.
