    Bro, 100% mad.
    Suggestion is to get rid of that riffled pipe, they cause headaches. $30 from Bunnings you can buy a smooth bore kit.

      Thankyou Chris we really appreciate your comment. We walked around Bunnings trying to find the right hose but had no luck, having to deal with imperial measurements in a land of metric measurements is painful sometimes, LOL. Might search Bunnnings online as our local one just may not stock it. Thankyou for the tip. Cheers for watching, happy hunting Alicia & Steve

You are very welcome dude, we dig your channel and hope to head down your way in the next few months and look for some Gippsland shiny, would be kool to meet up. Cheers from gold country in Northern California. This is great! Super lightweight, cost effective and it works. I did something similar but I 3D printed the whole thing. I hated pumping into the bucket and having to tote the bucket around. I also used the flotation noodles for buoyancy. I originally used a corrugated hose. I switched to a smooth hose and maintenance/clog issues were greatly reduced. Great job! Thanks for posting.

    It was very recently I found your channel, very fun and informative. Also like the design you have, two things I was thinking about, one that someone mentioned with smooth hose between pump and sluice. And two maybe use a rectagular tube as s,luice instead, I think due to the curvature of the bottom that it is not as effective as a straight bottom. Here in Sweden we have type rectagular ventilation ducts in plastic that are 4x2 inches and very light which could work. Maybe worth a try and I would like to see how it does! Haha. Keep up the nice work!

    Needs a grizzly added to separate and remove the large aggregate. What’s the amount lost and recovered in the tailings pan. Have you tested constant velocity water flow against the pulse flow from the pump to establish the difference.

    WOW THAT FLOATING SLUICE IS AWESOME YOU SHOULD PUT A PATENT ON THAT SLUICE or kickstarter cuz this is brilliant I know a few gold prospectors that can't run a regular sluice in some parts of like Canada Australia or whatever Pioneer Pauly would probably love that thing cuz I know in B.C CANADA he is not allowed to run a regular sluice there SO GET THIS THING GOING ASAP LOL any who till next time 🇨🇦😎👍🇨🇦😎👍🇨🇦😎👍

    Hey guys what check valve did you use?

  • @paulspecht5165
    @paulspecht5165 4 роки тому +1

    The only thing I can see that might be a problem is every time you pump you are sending a surge of water across riffles which might cause gold loss. It is better to have a consistent flow of water with the sluice being at the appropriate angle. Good job on the design it is more than I have done.

    Do you have any problems with balance? I have heard a number of times that a sluice MUST be kept level as to not have gold get thrown out.

    • @GrotyGold
      @GrotyGold  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching Roger, A bit of rock and roll is good to settle the gold into the mat just look at a rocker box working its hard to wash gold out of a sluice. the worst thing would be sending clay down it. I have seen a small amount of clay steal gold from the mats and take it out the end small balls of clay are bad. Cheers mate.

    I think about three 2L soda bottles tied on around the gold pan side would do the trick of keeping it from weighing down as it fills up with rocks and dirt. GREAT Invention though. I think I'm gonna build one myself. Cheers!

    G'day Alicia & Steve. Love your design, straight forward in its approach with a good layout. To be honest I was expecting it to go arse over once the pan at the end filled up with waste. I'm guessing that for most of us, we would have to wait till the end of summer to be able to steal the kids pool noodles and get away with it 😆😆.
    If you can replace your existing hose with an internally smooth hose you'll find its easier to work with because you'll obtain higher suction pressure and water velocity with less pumping effort simply because an internally Smooth hose has about 30% less restriction to flow than an internally Corrugated hose. It's the same with airflow through corrugated duct versus smooth duct, pipe or tube.
    Thank-you for another top original video 👍.

      Thankyou Tim, Steve was lucky I had a few spare, LOL. We thought the pan at the end would make her sink but surprisingly that ring of noodle holds it up. We have had a few suggestions on where to get some smooth hose so hopefully we can get some in the right size. Cheers for watching, happy hunting Alicia & Steve

    • @GrotyGold
      @GrotyGold  5 років тому

      Thankyou Mark, it could be adjusted by changing the upright posts, we just went with this angel for its first test and were pretty happy with how it cleared the black sand. Cheers for watching, happy hunting Alicia & Steve
