This movie imo has such a great story but a very poor way of executing it. Making it the most controversial of the original trilogy. Audrey using Maleficents scepter is a sort of “Venom” situation. By that I mean I think Maleficents influence drew in Audrey and used her as a host based off her anger. I think Audrey being the final villain and the general idea of the daughter of Aurora being consumed by the power of Maleficent is a great way to bring it all full circle. But like I said the execution is, that of a DCOM and its limitations lol
The dancing is ok is CRAZY like even the haters agree the dancing was top tier and improved significantly in this movie Kenny NEVER misses btw love your vids😅
10:15 think the only way for that magic plothole to be explained is that either the three fairies taught Audrey some fairy magic when she was with them in descendants 2 ORRRR Aurora still had traces of Maleficent's curse due to it being Maleficent's 'gift' like the other fairies so Audrey most likely had traces of that magic so technically she does have indirect magic?????
The biggest problem for me was how they took down the barrier at the end of the movie… Remember in the first movie, the villains were talking about getting revenge to their respective movie protagonists if they got out? Thats like if jail prisons let all criminals free 🤦♂️ i guess thats why Audrey didnt get any punishment because clearly the only prison in this world is the isle of the lost but the barrier is down now sooo
I remember the trailers of this movie when it came out. Almost every surprise in the movie was spoiled but I was really young when it came out so it was still my favorite movie of all time
I LOVE the reveal of who Mal's father was in this movie and Evie's cottage. Also, Audrey should've been met with some kind of punishment for what she did, even if she was bitterly jealous and not in the right headspace.
It makes a lot of sense that they put so much symbolism in the wigs for Audrey and Mal in this movie. Clearly that was the one part of the budget that was infinite.
When your done watching Descendants, please oh please react to "Julie and the Phantoms." It's really good and I think the last thing that Kenny Ortega direct too but all I can say is that Booboo Stewart as Jay, Jamal Sims as Celia, and Cheyenne Jackson as Hades, play character’s in “Julie and the Phantoms."
OMG slay! Finally my favorite Descendants movie. Good for you Sophia. Did you know that Audrey's actress was also in the recent Charmed reboot? She did way better than her as Audrey.
I remember the summer before this movie came out and I was counting down the days till it released and being so excited when I finally got to watch it. It wasn’t my favorite of the franchise and it definitely suffers from “third movie syndrome” but it was still fun. In my opinion the first movie had the best storyline and the second movie had the best songs. I’ll always enjoy the Descendants movies since they were such a staple of my childhood and hold lots of memories and nostalgia for me. Once again another excellent video, it’s beginning to feel like I’m having a fun movie marathon with a good friend 🫶💕
Thank you so much for watching this amazing trilogy!!! I know most people will dissuade you from Descendants: The Royal Wedding, but I think it’s worth checking out as it’s the last film to focus on Ben and Mal as Descendants: The Rise of Red will begin a new story with new VKs and AKs and have China Anne McLain returning as Uma. Brandy Norwood and Paolo Montalban who portrayed Cinderella and Prince Charming in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella (1997), another iconic musical film that I highly recommend for you to watch, will be reprising their roles as well. I wished to mention that some of the Descendants characters are considered LGBTQ+; there was a deleted scene from Descendants 2 of Harry and Gil kissing. Even Dove Cameron had mentioned that she had considered Mal pansexual. If you loved this film trilogy, I highly recommend the Z-O-M-B-I-E-S trilogy and in time for Halloween, the Halloweentown tetralogy. 🐉🐙👸😇😈💜💙 💛❤️🩵🖤🧡🤎🩷
Fun fact mal and uma are Canonically related. Ursula's father is poseidon and poseidon and Hades are brothers. That also makes uma part god or demigod. That would make mal and Ursula cousins. Mal and uma cousins once removed. That will also make Mal and Hercules also cousins. Zeus is also Hades brother. And uma and arial cousins. Mal and arial cousins once removed.
I think Audrey was being civil infront of her parents at the coronation. Also there is a small video you should watch where she’s getting her hair done and she hears about what happened in Decedents 2.
For some background info in the novel set before descendants three Jay Evie and Mal have graduated along with most of their friends (expect Carlos and Jane) VK day was established in that Novel where they went back to the isle to encourage VKs to apply to the program (Dizzy had to officially apply even though she was invited)
“That was their best style for everyone… except Carlos.” Girl, don’t forget they did Jane and loonie dirty in the first movie with those hairstyle too!!!😭✋
Audrey the daughter of sleeping beauty and prince Philip and using the maleficent staff the same thing that cures her mother and using it on her daughter Mal. And Mal has to defeat Audrey. And this is one big ironic plot.
Okay three things to say: 1. Lonnie's actor wasn't there due to acting schedule with other movie. That was also the same reason why Audrey wasn't in second movie. 2. Hades and Maleficent as couple is actually nothing new. I don't if you watched House of Mouse but there was an episode called House of Hades where god of Underworld tried to ask the evil fairy out. I guess that's where they got an inspiration from. 3. Before watching the fourth installment you should watch this animated wedding special that ties Descendants 3 and Rise of Red. Just letting you know. Also it's really good 👍
I'm glad you enjoy the descendants series, they're my childhood and I still think fondly of them ! Though I would advise you to lower your expectations for the 4th one...
Descendants 3 is my favorite of the series. An excellent wrap-up to the trilogy. The music is practically perfect in every way. Plus, the wigs and costumes are TOP TIER in this one, both in quality and appearance. Also, that top is great on you! But yeah, a little too much for a video that kids might be watching, 🤣.
Only people that can use the spell book are uma mal Jane evie mainly because of their parents but Audrey was only under the influence of maleficents scepter
I have so much nostalgia for these three films that I don't even care about the mistakes themselves, I grew up waiting for each film to be released, all in my heart! I miss that time. 😔 ✊ Well, I saw some videos of you watching fairy and old movies and I came to recommend two today, one is "Stranger Magic" and the other is "Tinkerbell", the movies in general, I would love to see you react or rewatch them!!!
I’ll watch your video when i get home ^^ But yeah, when the teasers for this movie came out before release. I was super excited for it cause Audrey was gonna be the villain. But I was left disappointed after watching the movie cause it had a lot to live up to and could’ve done a lot more. But alas, this movie along with the next movie Rise of Red are my least favourite Descendants movies…
I feel like they tried to do too much… like Audrey being a villain should’ve been one movie, and then Hades being a threat and trying to close the barrier should’ve been a separate movie. It just felt underdeveloped!
@@SophiaPhannn Hades being Mal’s dad feels so random, like it’s out of nowhere. I’ve literally seen ChatGPT write a better plot and make Hades a former ally of Maleficent but betrayed him in the process and locked him in the Underworld. I don’t think it would be bad IF they hinted Mal’s heritage and family history throughout each movie.
D3 would have to be my least favourite out of the first 3 movies the plot was not that great and it felt rushed. Tbh only watched it for Evie💙 You should totally read the novels though they fill a few plot holes.
Yes thank you someone said Doug looks like Nick Cage. It’s like he does look like he turned 30 & it shows 🤣 I never liked him & Evie together I liked her & Mal instead. The movie is the weakest but there are some good songs. The characters going backwards in this was a bad choice. Harry is bisexual but they had a deleted scene of him with a guy in the 2nd film
It will never fail to upset me that Mal's dad is Hades in this when they made such a big deal about her dad being a mortal in the books. But Do What You Gotta Do is a bop, so I kinda forgive them...
As someone who was immediately obsessed with Descendants when it first came out I pinged that this franchise was more Broadway musical than other dcoms. Ha Also descendants became popular in ways Disney probably didn’t expect aka fans being gay as hell and wanting evie and mal together more than Ben. Like the fandom was very lgbtq+. A couple of us even wanted Uma and Ben together but shipping them publicly got you a lot of flak. I won’t say why. The thing I say people miss out on when they watch descendants in the binge format is the animated commercials we got between movie one and two where china Ann (uma) voiced the daughter of Dr. Facilie. Her sister ended up voicing in the second shorts. Even got a few more songs. And knowing that these are based off a book series that I’ve never read, it’s obvious it’s very different from the material. Like lots of questions about the politics and why do all the characters have children/grandchildren around the same age get answered in the setup. I will say I would sorta kind of be interested in an adaptation that’s closer to the books but who knows when that’ll happen.
In the books Hades does have a son named Hadie lol 😂 so that means Mal has a half brother. Also a fun fact. Celia has an older sister named Freddie, but she only shows up in the animated web series and some of the books. Kinda sad she didn’t show up in the movies so she and Cecilia have more interaction than compared to the book where there interaction was very small.
I think I read somewhere I could be wrong with this info the only reason why Lonnie wasn’t in Descendants 3 is because I believe in the book Escape from the Isle of the Lost was due to Lonnie being busy on the professional R.O.A.R. AKA tourney for Northern Wei.
You know all I’m gonna say about this movie is that ever after high did a much better evil design for a daughter of sleepy beauty with briar’s spring unsprung look and she was just following the theme of winter colors black and white then a sprung of color for spring I’m just saying compare the 2 and see which one you think is better 🥀 let me know p.s. please do a reaction to ever after high and monster high g1 you would have so much fun with those movies
the jump i just did when you said Hades real name. haven’t watched these movies yet but i will get on it lmao just giving you $$$ at this point 😅 you’re welcome though!! love the video 🫶🏻
REALLY wish they cited a real-world parallel in this, buuuuttttt I guess they wanted to keep it lighter and not harp too much with the socioeconomic prattle? First, yes, I think they explain that people who have magic IN them are really the only ones who can use/manipulate magic unassisted. Audrey is the daughter of a princess/queen who was cursed by a very powerful spell, so teeeeechnically she has magic in her already? And a running theme in a lot of Disney films is that magic is often heavily influenced by the emotions behind it...The Beast (Adam) was selfish and vain and cruel, and when he became a beast, he became filled with rage and shame and lost all hope. That's a lot of negative energy fueling a curse. Audrey isn't evil, per sey, but BOY is she envious and covetous and full of calumny. Her being able to use the staff isn't a stretch at all, to me...but yeah, half-God/Half-Mistress of Evil Mal is still S-tier, comparatively speaking. As for the decision to close the barrier permanently...has anyone consulted a political or socioeconomic scientist as to the potential repercussions here? First of all, separating all the kids from their parents is just a bad idea; some of these kids are way to young to take care of themselves or be expected to integrate into a new society without significant backlash or social upheaval. Secondly...who's footing the bill for all this? Also, how many people live on the Isle of the Lost? We've seen a few wide shots, sure, but a conservative estimate would be several hundred people, at least. Auradon has a population that's, say, twice that? 3 times, max? Either's Auradon's economy is, in fact, based on the use of good magic to provide for it's citizens, but it seems only ostensibly so. There is a King and Queen, it seems like Auradon is, at best, a benevolent monarchy, and at worst, a oblivious dictatorship. So which is it? Either all the citizens of this kingdom have their needs met by magic, or there is a money-based economy with all humanitarian-aid decisions left to the crown...and they maintained an island of bad-guys as a viable form of forced border-control! I'm not sure they're best equipped to deal with this situation. Speaking of border control...anybody else feel like this has some commentary about countries who have to deal with hostile neighbors? There's a reason why this kind of unfettered charity and integration doesn't exist in real life, at least not on a scale this fast or large. It's like South Korea's opinion on the dissolution of the North Korean government and opening the 38th parallel. On paper, yes, get rid of Kim Jong Un, end the one party system, start sending medical assistance and agricultural regeneration material north, these are all good things! If nothing else, from a human rights perspective, it's the best thing that could happen...but the citizens of South Korea, in their deepest, darkest hearts, DO NOT want the entirety of the North Korean population to come streaming across the border. Forget security concerns and the sudden influx of medical emergencies, 26 million new mouths to feed would be debilitating, if not flat-out crippling, for the South Korean government and population to suddenly absorb. If South Korea got all it's food and medicine from an inexhaustible source, like magic, cool: "feel all the hungry and mend all the injured", and it was done. But South Korea is not Auradon (WEIRD sentence); this stuff really doesn't fly without careful preparation and allocation of funds/materials/manpower. Again, I'm NOT saying don't open the border with the Island, but...they've got magic, right? How about build up the island? Yeah, bring in the sun, definitely, but how about infrastructure experts? Jobs? Education? New types of food? You don't INVADE, you give them a chance to be their own thing, and with every modern amenity/opportunity, too. Those who want to leave, they can! Buuuuut why not make it a place where people what to stay, grow, raise a family, find their own happily ever after? Nothing STARTS perfect: New York, Chicago, even Paris were ALL SWAMPS before the cities were built and markets established. The people that live on the island are already resourceful, clever and make due with the little they have; give them a chance to build and grow with proper monetary and infrastructure support. Eventually, they become trade partners with Auradon and the political climate loses a lot of tension. Everybody wins! Great vid! Boob-window was not distracting, but I gotta ask, was it perhaps a touch uncomfortable? I can't imagine putting a belt around my lungs 😆(but then, I have a 52 inch chest, so it would need to be a big belt). Speaking of fashion choices...yeah, Doug's hair. It reminded me of the hallucination Fashion-model-siren-sloth from the 4th Ice Age film. Just...odd. Really out of place. He's not Fabio (thank God), leave the man alone. 🤣🤣

That makes sense 😂 I keep forgetting that Audrey is Aurora’s daughter
Wow Sophia! You could be Ariel's descendant with that look :)
Also, Audrey should've been met with some kind of punishment for what she did, even if she was bitterly jealous and not in the right headspace.
years later and i’m still confused as to why Dizzy was involved in the vk event when she literally already got a personal invitation from Ben 😭
YAY PART 3!!!❤ I LOVE THIS SERIES😊
It makes a lot of sense that they put so much symbolism in the wigs for Audrey and Mal in this movie. Clearly that was the one part of the budget that was infinite.
Your hair is so pretty 😍
Thank you hehe 🥹🫶🏼
When your done watching Descendants, please oh please react to "Julie and the Phantoms." It's really good and I think the last thing that Kenny Ortega direct too but all I can say is that Booboo Stewart as Jay, Jamal Sims as Celia, and Cheyenne Jackson as Hades, play character’s in “Julie and the Phantoms."
ive been saying the same thing too! i really think she would like it
OMG slay! Finally my favorite Descendants movie. Good for you Sophia. Did you know that Audrey's actress was also in the recent Charmed reboot? She did way better than her as Audrey.
The return of the Sophia Crown!
I miss Cameron, he was the best!
🐉🐙👸😇😈💜💙
💛❤️🩵🖤🧡🤎🩷
I'm so sad you did not comment on the low key flirting that happened between Gil and Jay during the berry eating ice breaker😭
Love your hair! It's perfect for the next movie
Thank you hehe
I love the red in ur hair and am I early great 😂🎉
Hehe thank you 🫶🏼
Fun fact mal and uma are Canonically related.
That armor dance scene always makes me cackle when I see it
I think Audrey was being civil infront of her parents at the coronation. Also there is a small video you should watch where she’s getting her hair done and she hears about what happened in Decedents 2.
Hands Down. Hands Down. I find it really funny how Maleficent cursed Audrey's Mother and Aurdrey takes her staff.
For some background info in the novel set before descendants three Jay Evie and Mal have graduated along with most of their friends (expect Carlos and Jane) VK day was established in that Novel where they went back to the isle to encourage VKs to apply to the program (Dizzy had to officially apply even though she was invited)
All of Uma's outfits ate so bad in this movie it's unreal
Harry, Jay and Gil would most def be a throuple if it wasn't a DCOM
“That was their best style for everyone… except Carlos.”
Girl, don’t forget they did Jane and loonie dirty in the first movie with those hairstyle too!!!😭✋
Audrey the daughter of sleeping beauty and prince Philip and using the maleficent staff the same thing that cures her mother and using it on her daughter Mal.
And Mal has to defeat Audrey.
And this is one big ironic plot.
best songs queen of mean, an do what you gotta do,
best moment Hades complaining about when good pple mess up
Okay three things to say:
Also it's really good 👍
sophie looking like a snack
Hades is one of the 500 dark haired white guys from American horror story 😂😂😂
I'm glad you enjoy the descendants series, they're my childhood and I still think fondly of them ! Though I would advise you to lower your expectations for the 4th one...
This movie features my favorite descendants song.
Ah the ugly step child of the trilogy 😭 at least we get to see more Uma content
5:34 I love how Lady Tremaine being Asian in Descendents matches with her upcoming counterpart in Bridgerton s4
chad genuinely was being abused here i hope he finds healing
Descendants 3 is my favorite of the series. An excellent wrap-up to the trilogy. The music is practically perfect in every way. Plus, the wigs and costumes are TOP TIER in this one, both in quality and appearance.
Also, that top is great on you! But yeah, a little too much for a video that kids might be watching, 🤣.
Well my videos generally aren’t catered towards kids anyways 😂
Ariel is that you???? Looking amazing! Anyways yeah this is definitely a conflicting movie for me, for so many reasons...
Only people that can use the spell book are uma mal Jane evie mainly because of their parents but Audrey was only under the influence of maleficents scepter
the description should be canon.
girl forget the movie characters YOUR OUTFIT is so Slay 💅
Omg thank you 🥹🫶🏼 I was feeling self conscious when I was editing 😅
YESSS IM SO READY FOR THIS ONE ❤
If you don't realize, mals old lady disine is based on the evil queens old lady disine
I have so much nostalgia for these three films that I don't even care about the mistakes themselves, I grew up waiting for each film to be released, all in my heart! I miss that time. 😔 ✊
Well, I saw some videos of you watching fairy and old movies and I came to recommend two today, one is "Stranger Magic" and the other is "Tinkerbell", the movies in general, I would love to see you react or rewatch them!!!
I’ll watch your video when i get home ^^
But yeah, when the teasers for this movie came out before release.
Just wanted to say I love your videos so much! I could not stop laughing 😭 🫶🫶
I’m so glad you enjoy 🥹🫶🏼
another banger vid these are always so good.
Glad you enjoy these 🥹🫶🏼
D3 would have to be my least favourite out of the first 3 movies the plot was not that great and it felt rushed. Tbh only watched it for Evie💙 You should totally read the novels though they fill a few plot holes.
as uma said this isnt the end. there's an animated movie too. you have to watch. oh and the rise of red as well
This movie makes no sense in understan you well now its left descendants the rise of red ⭐️⭐️🎶🎤
October is just around the corner any chance you can do at least one of Disney's halloween moviesthe haunted mansion(2003)>
I’m going to be real here ur giving off Chappell Roan vibes the hair, outfit like omg!❤
I’m curious what your ranking of the movies are.
I’ll have one when I watch the 4th one ☝🏼
Ok
It will never fail to upset me that Mal's dad is Hades in this when they made such a big deal about her dad being a mortal in the books. But Do What You Gotta Do is a bop, so I kinda forgive them...
dont question th fast solutions it do be disney movie
harry and gil are canonically bisexual! there was actually a scene where they where supposed to kiss but disney cut it.
4:02 the moment of realization is killing meee 😭
Basiclly Sophia guesssing everything that happend in the movie 😭
Mal's hair isn't actually purple, her natural hair is black she just dyed it. It says this in the first descendants book.
i was waiting for this reaction
🙏🙏
Cameron Boyce is so talented and kind, it’s so beyond devastating what happened. 🕊️
Harry's 100% bi lol
He also kissed gill in a deleted scene from d2
22:58 he and gil kissed in a cut scene from d2 (which is actually still there in the first release of the novelization) so I'd say yeah!
I think Descendants 4 will be your fav just because of a couple characters
