Back when music expressed emotions and stories. You can tell Gina Thompson's pain is immeasurable and bled her pain through this song. She broke down pretty hardcore here, and you can tell she is crying emotionally. Music always releases the pain. This is a good song, and I like it. This deserve more views, and she deserves more recognition of this masterpiece.
Now this is what you call GOOD music and GREAT singing. Gina Thompson was slept on terribly and it is such a shame. This song is from her 2nd album called "If You Only Knew" which was supposed to be released in 1999, but it was shelved. She only released one single from it and made a video called YaDiYa. It was catchy, but didn't show anything she had to offer. I was able to get a copy of the album back in 2007 (and paid a nice coin for it) and I still listen to it to this day. My other favorite song is called Turn Around. Man she needs to come back. She should be put on one of theses R&B diva shows. Miss me some Gina Thompson. Amazing singer who needs to come back.

Shep Crawford, Montell Jordan, and Stacey "Dove" Daniels wrote and produced alot of songs such as "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here, Stranger In My House (Tamiya) , Incomplete (Sisqo) etc. Most of those songs tell a story. Shep Crawford is a genius. Shae Jones actually sings a majority of the background on his songs as well.
Yep absolutely Shep and montell definitely had a great run between 95 and the early 2000s. Very signature sound somewhat similar to 2,000 watts, soulshock and karlin, Link, ect.
This kind of beat just instantly transports me back to my more youthful days. Gosh would be nice to be able to get back those days just for a hot minute. Cheeeeezzzzzz!
She sounds nothing like Shirley Murdock .you can tell Gina voice is Much younger . She is more in the range of and compare to. Lil mo, Nicole what and coko of swv. Your ears must be hard of hearing

It wasn’t at all expense at all. She was recently interviewed by “YouKnowIGotSoul” and basically expressed how she put in her all in this album (her sophomore attempt). She said they put out the first single and then pulled the plug afterwards. The labels were changing and merging and unfortunately she was an act that got lost in the shuffle. This album got shelved and she said she wanted out of her contract because she felt all her hard work was wasted which is true. She was signed to Missy’s “Goldmind” label and not to discredit Missy in any way and this is coming from a big fan, but she should’ve never taken on artist. Every act she signed flopped due to her not investing enough into the artist’s projects. Gina Thompson, Mocha, Nicole Wray, Jessica Betts, Torrey Carter, etc. All of these artist were talented but mismanagement and lack of promotion killed their careers.
