Wes, the best part of this video was seeing your Dad and the two of you working together! He sure does know his stuff. All those years of experience and some of it rubbed off on you (somehow..haha)! Thanks, hope to see more.
"It's bolted together ... but not really." Is a UA-cam title if ever I heard one. Really admire you and Dad seeing that and your collective optimisim.
Majestic collection of historical romance! Where's your wife keep her books?
Under the mattress.
Nice collection.
"Wes gazed longingly at the tractor. Reaching out slowly with a single quivering hand he caressed the heaving case he knew he was about to undo and lay bare. In his other hand, he had a firm grip on a large throbbing 9/16 wrench; the biggest, stiffest wrench the tractor had ever seen, there would be no protest..." 😁
I take it the air hammer and impact wrench are in the sequel?
Hubba hubba
I'll... just be alone in my shed for a bit.
🤣🤣 Wes should pin this
Woo hoo!!
Runs better than half the stuff Wes works on everyday
Way less rust too
@@nicholasviney5975 This is Absolute Clear Proof That things can be built to last all this modern day Flimsy shite is just no good Sort her issues she will be good for another 100 years. Proper Built to last . eat that Elon musk .
And not as rusty by a long shot!
And probably last longer as well.
yeah its also less rusty
I credit your dad for still working - doing what he likes - not sitting on his ^ss doing nothing - keeping his mind occupied - I admire that
That sounds like my dad too
That's the best thing they can do
@@jakealter5504 Nope. It's mine.
It's good that they are still physically able to do it. Some aren't that lucky.
Exactly. Us old guys, I'm 73, must stay busy to stay healthy. I have four old trucks, a car, a house, a shop and a yard. Always plenty to do.
Be sure to tell me about the winch I need. The one that pulls a tractor on a trailer with seized up rear wheels...
I have a winch on my gooseneck trailer, it is strong enough to pull a dead tractor up the ramps, it has been a savior many times. At the end of the video, your Dad was able to get the tractor to roll by shifting the transmission collars, that will make moving the tractor a lot easier in the future.
Your Dad seems to have the same great sense of humor as you do!
Any day with dad is a good day. I wish every day that my dad was still around.
Your dad is like a kid with a new toy with that tractor! Thanks for sharing!
Enjoy every moment with your father Wes .Time goes by so fast .My father was just like your dad always doing something mechanical.
Yes Wes their generation are unstoppable . My dad was the same way . This vid brought a smile to my face and a tear to my eye. Thanks for the memories.
I think it must be a person to person thing. only thing my retired pops has been working on is the ass groove in the couch.
@@alanprather8399 I think profession plays a part too. My dad is a retired cop and he's been sitting on the couch since 1998, collecting checks for 3/4ths of his old pay and complaining about socialism and how kids today are lazy.
@@jeffkaczmarek3577Yea that's a good one
That part where you and your dad both raised your hands and shrugged your shoulders at the same time, that was priceless man. One of my favorite channels on UA-cam!
Nothing beats reading a few pages of romance novel at lunch break in the shop!
When you lifted your hand like your dad did after that engine barked off, I did one of those Watch Wes belly laughs. All three reactions were like second nature, kind of like family around here now.
Its always entertaining to watch you and your dad work together. Some of the best memories you can make as a boy or man is the memories you make with your father.
I love when you involve your father in your videos. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Wes, I enjoy you and your Dad working together. What impresses me greatly is the mutual respect shown. I think your Dad looks for your input just as much as you look for his and that's something to treasure. Thank you for sharing.
I like when your dad says "hey I'm happy!"
There is nothing better than being grown and working with your dad. I love the videos!
Busy retired guys live longer! Hopefully you'll have your dad around for a long time!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Love seeing you working with your dad together on a project
Your Dad is cool Wes, we need to see more stuff with him in it! Really enjoy your videos!
Big fan of the Wes and Dad series. Really cool to see you two wrenching together
I enjoy watching you work with your father. Wish i was still able to do so. Mine passed away 2 months shy of his 50th birthday. Treasure the time you have even if you don’t always see eye to eye on everything.
I absolutely love this video. You and your Dad together working together and laughing together on that old tractor, what a treasure!
Wow it runs good - doesn't even smoke even after sitting so long. Your dad has got a good engine there.
It's beautiful and heartwarming to watch how you and your dad interact together. Congrats on a truly amicable relationship!
Greets from far away Switzerland! Charles
Your dad seems like a really great guy.
your father sounds like all the retired people I know. busier than before, but doing what THEY love. I plan on doing just that.
Loving the shenanigans Wes lol all it needs is an oil change and your good to go haha 👍👌🔧🔧🔧 good to see you with your dad doing gods work 👍👌❤️
So great to see you and your dad figuring it out together. My pop has been gone for 18 years but I still talk to him when I have a problem in the shop. Thanks for the video, Wes.
Many of us talk to Dads long long after he has been gone you not alone.
Gotta love working with the old timers there a wealth of knowledge and experience but hard of hearing also god bless ‘em lol
Great video as usual Wes. I really like seeing your Dad in the videos. You can tell he's forgot more stuff than most mechanics will ever know to begin with. Really cool how you are following along in his footsteps so to speak.
2 smart Men fixing a piece of history! I love it!
i'm imagining "the bride" thought the tractor an eyesore sitting out in front of the house and all, and wanted it gone. then had to laugh at the bit of bumbling from the "help". :)
I'm amazed how easily that engine started after sitting so long. Great vvid with your father
Nothing like working with your dad on a project… hope to see more on this little project and a postmortem on that seized shaft.
"You're pushing the 3 point arms through the deck." "Oh. Shit." lol
Love videos with your dad.
Always appreciate his knowledge as a mechanic and listening to his voice. He would have made a great radio announcer too!!
Never seen a tractor trans open like that. Good stuff. Right on Dad👍
Wes the only thing better than seeing you work with your dad was if you had your son with you on this video - there is no substitute for making memories with your kids and the grand parents -
hope to see a follow up on this video soon !!
What UA-cam needs RIGHT NOW is a Squatch Senior meets Wes's Dad cross over!
Very interesting video. Great seeing your dad working with you. Really want to see the next video. Hope you definitely make part 2. Thanks for sharing.
#2 is mandatory right.
Part 2 is 20 years from now.
Thoroughly enjoyed this installment of "Watch Wes And His Dad Work". I love the ugly yet elegant look of old tractors, so hope this becomes a series on the Olivers.
nothing like adventures with dad.
Awesome father and son time spent together 💯🙌
I wish my dad lived longer as we had good times too.
Well Wes! Great fun video. Fascinating. My Dad is long gone now and we used to do stuff together, but not enough. They were some of the best times. I look back now and think you can’t do too much together. Like the supermarket advert “Once they’re gone they’re gone”.
Great to see you working with your Dad.🥳🍺
You gotta love the skill and beauty of Tyrell Knifeworks guy.
Back in 2012 I bought a ih 706 gas that didn't run at consignment auction. I hauled it home on the same type of trailer and truck setup you have, except mine had a 460. Still have the tractor and truck. Tractor needed a piston and the head gone through. I pulled the air filter out and it was stamped 1986, so I cleaned it and put it back in to this day. Tractor and truck still run good! Fun times
Nothing better than projects with the old man. Coincidentally nothing more frustrating 😂
Your dad need it’s own UA-cam channel!! He’s not scared to get dirty!! When the engine started I was waiting for the silencer to go flying!! Thanks for sharing
So cool to see you working with your dad. Thanks Wes.
Very cool seeing father and son. Can see where you get it from, Wes!
it was good to see u r dad again, keep the clips coming
Your old man needs to wrench with you more on here, he's awesome!
My aunt had an oliver bulldozer from 1956 to 2000 on her 20 acres on Bainbridge Island. As a child, I got to drive it.
No wonder you will tackle ANYTHING, Wes, You got it honestly! Great to see Father and son work together. Hope we see a follow up on this one.
I love those engines and work on them regularly. Everything from servicing to full rebuilds. .
Many thanks for showing the recovery at the beginning. Not only do we hear that the tractor was sitting for a long time, but you show us too. The land was trying to reclaim that tractor judging by the depth it had sunk into the earth. Anyway, it provides us with some history and prologue and that is always interesting.
Your father knows how to live a long time, never stop working.
Wes the Oliver Man! Who doesn’t love a tractor video!
That was a pretty calm video loading the tractor and accessories. My dad, years ago would have been throwing stuff and yelling at everyone within a 1/4 mile radius. He has calmed down a lot, Ahh. The good old days. Thanks for the Videos, Wes. It looks like a project.
Wes , nice video of you and your Father getting his " new" tractor,
And yes don't hurt the paint on your truck..
I'd love to see a postmortem on that counter shaft bearing.
Nice video Wes. Cherish all the time you can spend with your dad.
Great to watch you both, boy you have some of the loudest birds I have ever heard in the background chirping away.
Good thing you had 3 people spotting for your Dad you might have run over the hydraulic cylinders and lines! Your Dad is awesome, more Dad videos please.
That forklift rattling would drive me crazy. It's good to see you're an avid reader :)
I like when Wes gets in touch with his inner Matt
Mr. Wes and Daddy Wes doing Diesel Creek style stuff. I love it ❤
6:03 Fork holes lining up with frame holes and pinned together, that's awesome.
We would have used short chains that unhooked themselves about 20 gagallion times.
I see we have the same chains.
Good on your dad for staying active.
My neighbor who I believe is 80 now tried to retire 8 years ago. He just couldn’t stand staying home so he went back to antique shopping and helping people move their stuff.
I myself will keep driving till they pry my cold dead hands from the steering wheel. Joking aside I will stop if and when I feel it’s unsafe, at some point we all should give up driving.
Here i find myself watching wes, just purchased and hauled home a Furgeson TO30 Yesterday, that hasnt ran since 1988. Might be in contact for some wisdom and advice. Glad to see both of you still working hard.
You will definitely have to keep us updated on that all Oliver I think it looks like it's worth fixing
how the holding the flashlight for your dad table has turned
Only thing missing is the shade tree and concrete blocks. Nice work, thanks for the look.
A THT! (Tractor hauling trip)......Your dad and I are roughly the same age and like him, I never figured out how I had time to go to work 😂. I have friends in their 80s that are still going strong; wrenching and collecting old iron. One friend just finished building a rat rod at 87! So, keep it up Wes's dad, and mount a winch on your trailer Wes!
Can’t winch a locked axle.
@@WatchWesWork DOH! Didn't think of that. I better have more coffee.....
The value of present and involved fathers cannot be overstated. If they happen to be mechanically inclined is a very, very nice bonus. I like to think I'm in a very similar boat as you, Wes.
Look at that OBS Ford doing work. I have a soft spot of 80s/90s Fords.
Anxious as you loaded and unloaded the Oliver, but in the end you had the measure of the task and your Dad, who is a great guest "star" on your channel, showed it whose boss. Lovely to see it started after being laid up so long
Well, there’s sketchy, and then there’s Pa loading the tractor…. Yikes!!! Loved it, glad for no extra drama. Thanks for taking us along.
I like your dad old school through and through👍.
Son still learning from his dad. Brings back fond memories. Thanks for the video.
Now I know where your penchant for lost causes comes from. Genetics. It's fun to watch you guys tackle this stuff.
My Mrs. would like to send KUDOS to Mrs. Wes on the romance collection so prominently displayed .
Some assembly required, right up your alley.
Love your novel collection! Especially on April 23rd World Book Day!
Don't you mean St George's day.
Really nice seeing father and son working together.
I'm impressed by the F250 with the gooseneck, that was quite a haul !!!
Great video. Having flash backs with my dad. Thx
I was looking forward to you rebuilding the transmission and then putting the tractor back together. I love long videos.
I really enjoy watching you and your dad work together, me and my father used to work on cars together all the time and sure do miss that , he would always come up with some ingenious work around to the problem .
Don't scratch the paint. Lol. When I was lloading a piece of equipment on my old truck, I would say, "don't put any shiny spots in my rust."
Your dad has a great "radio voice" !!
That was fun Wes. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes, Deb
Awesome job like seeing you and Dad working
You guys made that move look easy. I'm sure it wasn't, but the two of you are a great team.
BEST way to start the week!!!
