I suggest, if you're going to watch Fullmetal Alchemist, that you watch the Brotherhood series as it follows the manga more closely and has a more conclusive ending. Just a fair warning, it's a little dark, a little bloody, but full of mystery and suspense. It's one of my all-time favorite series (ie: I've seen it five times at least).
Emmy, you've got a very really strong screen presence and excellent clarity of speech---you ought to really consider pursuing television hosting or news programming.
Aw when you showed your necklace, I looked at mine, which is on my neck with the same jade goddess. I've been given it by my parents since I was a little baby!
+Leonidas_Cutrose Lmao, right! The music made me think she was gonna say her parents were gone and she wore it to always remember them! 😢 Hollywood ruined me
You have such a great personality that's why I subscribed. So glad you are doing well and are able to stay at home with your little ones. What was the most surprisingly delicious thing you've tried?
Thanks for not complaining about how much editing you have to do, or how worried you are about keeping your numbers up. It's a pleasure to watch your videos...that's the key! You are right, follow your heart.
My parents are Chinese, but they lived in Japan for a few years. They later moved to America two months before I was born, and they raised my sister and I to say "itadakimasu" before every meal.
Ive been watching you for a while now Emmy and you are one of my favorite UA-camrs! Youre so much fun to watch and I watch videos over and over again! Much love xx
You need your own TV show woman! I just love how you inform people without getting too technical but at the same time make it easy for us to understand what you're doing. Keep up the great work!
omg Emmy is like my role model. I just love how she's so interested in so many different things! I love Emmy and she's amazing. she's like the perfect person, always curious, wanting to gain knowledge and shes so sweet and lovely.
I’m from the Philippines and moved here when I was 3. My mom made Filipino food but when my Lola (grandma) moved here (WA state) for a while she always made Leche Flan. There’s something about the Filipino flan that was soooo good to me and different from other flans. It’s so rich and so amazing. My mom never made it because she said it was too much work. I’d love to see you make it because you explain how to cook things so well!
I love how you describe each process of whatever you do and the taste of whatever you eat, thanks for making this channel you are full of fun and positivity I also think you are kind. You never stop learning and you share it with everyone maybe that’s why your videos are fantastic. Keep it up!
Thanks for the link, great vid :) I'm astonished that you haven't been asked to host a show on TV ( or maybe you have ) Anyway, you're amazing, and I shall continue to support and appreciate your work and fantastic creativity.
I know what you mean about generosity. I've had my share of amazing people send packages, letters and cards to share part of their culture and experiences. It really is humbling and much appreciated. Thanks for making fun vids & allowing us to tag along on your journey. Cheers Emmy!
FINALLY! A Questions & Answers video from you Emmy! And my question to your "leftovers question" is also answered ^_^ Being your fan for over 2 years now, I'm glad you're still my number 1 favorite UA-camr :D
OMG Emmy I have been watching your videos since the begining, waaaaaay back in the day. Congratulations on 500k *-* It has been nice to see your channel grow. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Brazil =D
You are absolutely gorgeous. I have a problem where I can’t stand the sound of people eating so I often have to eat alone but with you I don’t know what it is but I can totally tolerate watching and hearing you eat. It’s the most bizarre thing to discover I can tolerate someone eating. You have a beautiful energy, stunning in beauty and personality and the food you cook inspires me to cook (something I detest) so thanks Emmy ❤️
There is an anime called Toriko, which is actually food related, it's about a guy who searches the world for the best food. It's a comedy action type of anime.
I always knew that Japanese tradition says itadakimasu before eating but after taking a Japanese class, my teacher told us that it is thanking everyone and everything that went into the food that we are about to eat; from the farmers to the cooks to the animals and the plants. So in some sense, it's very similar to saying grace for Christians except it's not directed to a deity.
+emmymadeinjapan Three things. 1. Loved the Q&A video. 2. I recommend anything by Studio Ghibli i.e., movies by Hayao Miyazaki. 3. Question for possible follow up Q&A video; What village did you live in Japan? I remember once that you said you lived on Shikoku, but where? Thanks, Shaya
Emmy I think you would enjoy Death Note:) and also a very cute easy anime to finish is Princess Jellyfish. Leaves you with a happy feeling but also wanting more!
Congrats on reaching 500K subs and here's to the next 500K. Your channel has rapidly become one of my favorites. I always look forward to your videos and I particularly enjoy the weird little bits you put at the end of them. Since I'm a huge anime geek, I have to leave a couple of recommendations ... Tokyo Godfathers and Millennium Actress. They're not just the two best anime that I've seen, but also two of the best films of any kind that I've seen and Tokyo Godfathers is a Christmas movie, so it's particularly fitting this time of year.
Congratulations on 500k subscribers! Emmy, you are the sweetest person ever. :) I wanted to ask if you can make more cooking videos? I absolutely love when you share your recipes with us!
From my family to yours, thank you and you're so very welcome. We always look forward to your videos.💚 We'd love to watch videos of you doing things with your kiddos!☺
I could absolutely see you hosting a show like what you spoke of (learning about & trying different things). What is one "food" you haven't eaten that your itching to try?
You seem so crafty and fun! Have you tried sewing, crocheting or knitting? I hated knitting in school and never bothered with crocheting but after a brainsurgery four years ago where I couldn´t read or even watch tv my grandma learned me how to crochet and it is now the best thing ever for me. The joy of being able to make something myself is just amazing and all the squishy yarn is a moodbuster! If you want to try I would suggest small and useful things first, if you have a use for it it is easier to continue, so things like dishtowels, coasters or washcloths are the three things I recomend friends to start with. Plus they are ecofriendly since you can just wash them and reuse instead of toss them :)
some anime I would recomend are Howle's moving castle, Kiki's delivery service (by the way both of those are great to watch with the kiddos :)), and grave of the fireflies. Grave of the fireflies is really a tear jerker.
You are so wholesome. With all this chaos and discord in the world, your channel is a safe haven that I go to when things get too overwhelming in the world.
You remind me so much of my beloved art teacher from high school! You both just exude this warm, positive, welcoming energy and you're both so devoted to your families. Love you Emmy!
I just love your personality and I think you inspire so many people. I enjoy your happiness and that you love to learn new things. Keep up the good work Emmy!
Very happy for this video, been waiting a while! Thanks and congrats on 500,000 subs, have been here since around 100,000 I believe and I'm very happy to have come across this channel, love to learn all about these new cultures and food!
What a great video! So glad it popped up and even more happy I found your channel in the first place. I too love to learn every single day, you have become a part of that life experience for me. Thank you! I'm a native Californian so I'm curious about where you grew up. I'm from Central Cali, born in Mariposa and grew up in Oakhurst, two very small towns just outside of Yosemite National Park.
I would love to see a video about your typical diet or things you buy on food shops or your favorite foods. simply because you are so open to trying new foods and have had a chance to try so many, i wonder what you would pick for yourself.
My husband always laughs at how much I dabble into so many different things. Stamping, painting, sewing, plush making, crochet..you name it I've tried it. I never master it but I do it enough to learn how it works and move on. My most recent was raising backyard chickens haha
emmy, you're one of the most honest people on UA-cam and I admire that about you. thank you so much for always sharing your videos with us, I've enjoyed every second of them over the years!
Honestly Emmy, by now I've watched almost all of your videos, tried most of your recipes, and even rewatched some of your videos several times so I don't screw up the recipe.😂 Regardless you make me laugh and inspire me through all your videos and it means so much that your loyal in making them so often. I may not comment very often on the videos but I do watch and have loved all of them, so thanks for all you do and for inspiring my cooking tastes and choices! Keep being awesome (:
you are inspiring. My son and I dont have a huge number of things we have in common to do together, but your videos are on that list. He is 11, he will put the game controller down when I tell him Emmy has a new video. So, thank you. Zander and I have been watching for close to 2 years.
I missed the social media announcement for questions, but I am so glad someone asked about the red necklace! I have been wondering that forever, lol. You are such a wonderful person and you inspire me to go out and explore the world. There are so many wonderful things out there, but with all the bad things going on right now we are all guilty of forgetting there is still some good.
I'm not Japanese either but I was born there and my family lived there for about 4 years so I feel like I have a connection to there. Your videos bring me a lot of joy ^^ Thank you
For anime I would think you should start on the Studio Ghibli films by Hayao Miyazaki, they are super cute and family friendly. My Neighbor Totoro is great. My first ever anime I have ever watched was sailor moon.
Emmy do you make your own facial scrubs and treatments? and if so can you put it in "EmmyMade" section? What type of makeup line do you use. Like ways to keep your skin clear from blemishes and the such.
I saw you on my snap chat a while back and loved watching your taste testing vids, they were my favorite actually and looked forward to seeing them. Now I just found your youtube videos and was so excited to subscribe, I plan on binge watching all your vids tonight! haha you're awesome, never stop making videos!!
Emmy, I just want to say that I'm always inspired and uplifted by your open-mindedness and positivity! I liked what you said about having all kinds of different interests and learning to make things. I think I'll try to focus more on that too. :)
If you do want to watch a cute and genuinely heartwarming anime my recommendation would be K-On! Sentai Works has released the first and second season as well as the movie in the U.S I believe both on DVD and Bluray. If I could only keep ONE anime this would be THE one for me.
I like your videos in part because you appear as a humble and honest person. There are too many youtubers who are crass and try to get views by being offensive, or controversial, or using sex. Your stuff is honest, low stress and fun. Keep it up.
Emmy I am the same way, I love learning new things. One thing I've always liked about starting a new job is how you get a behind the scenes look on how things really work.
Aww man! I watch nearly all of your videos, but I guess I missed a few recently bc of school. I had no idea you I asked for questions. But enough complaining. Emmy, I am so happy for you for hitting 500,000 subs! You deserve it! I love your videos so much and have enjoyed watching for the past 2-3 years. Keep it up 😄
So 39 people disliked this video? Seriously? Why? That is asinine. She has done nothing but answer some personal questions that she didn't have to answer, and shared a small portion of her life with everyone. I am new to this channel, only been watching for a few weeks but what a positive, bright person Emmy is. How anyone can find fault makes me think there are 39 bitter jelly people out there.
i just think youre amazing - a geniunely sweet, caring, curious person! i feel like youre a gemini in the sense that you like gathering information. i very much enjoy your videos and wish nothing short of blessings and hapiness for tou & your family em.
My top 3 anime suggestion that I preferred you to watch are: Shokugeki no Soma - Cooking anime explain very detail about the food!🍝 Yakitate!! Japan - Cooking anime too but this is all about bread! ^-^ 🍞 Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso - Happy and really sad anime about a pianist and a violinist, please prepare a lot of tissues 😭🎶 I have more anime list like Shingeki no Kyojin, Parasyte, Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa, Owari no Seraph, etc. but those have more fighting or gore stuff but depends on your liking ☺😊
ahhh, you're so inspirational!! I really want to go abroad (like live in Japan) before I settle down too.. so great- love your videos as well! and congrats on 600,000 SUBS! almost to 700K!!!
Thanks for all of the anime suggestions. :)
+emmymadeinjapan ^_^ you are the best
Hey Emmy! I have a few anime suggestions that I know you will enjoy: Fullmetal alchemist, yuyu hakusho, Inuyasha, and Hunter x hunter (:
I suggest, if you're going to watch Fullmetal Alchemist, that you watch the Brotherhood series as it follows the manga more closely and has a more conclusive ending. Just a fair warning, it's a little dark, a little bloody, but full of mystery and suspense. It's one of my all-time favorite series (ie: I've seen it five times at least).

+emmymadeinjapan Soul Eater
Please do another Q & A! I wanted to know if you incorporated any of the dishes, snacks, or foods you reviewed into your family meals/home?
The age of Asian people is hard to guess. They always look young. So guys. I guess Emmy is something between 18 and 60
She’s 36
😂

@@gordontheengineswifedr.nirmal how do you know?
As an Asian myself, I think she’s definitely in her late 30’s 😎

Aw when you showed your necklace, I looked at mine, which is on my neck with the same jade goddess. I've been given it by my parents since I was a little baby!
i can just picture someone having that moment and the music in the video making it seem like this deep cinematic connection...
+Leonidas_Cutrose Lmao, right! The music made me think she was gonna say her parents were gone and she wore it to always remember them! 😢 Hollywood ruined me
Just sending my congratulations on having reached 500K subscribers. Also wanted to say how very much I have enjoyed watching your channel.
Thanks T.K.!
You have such a great personality that's why I subscribed. So glad you are doing well and are able to stay at home with your little ones. What was the most surprisingly delicious thing you've tried?
Your mom
You're so well spoken and I love how upbeat you are.
Thanks for not complaining about how much editing you have to do, or how worried you are about keeping your numbers up. It's a pleasure to watch your videos...that's the key! You are right, follow your heart.
I hope the Food Channel or Travel Channel puts you on cable TV. You would be great.
Do you have any culinary background? Your food reviews are so descriptive instead of something like "that's flavortown".
The way she handles a knife or does an edge on pastry tends to suggest some chef training.
I think she's just super smart and learns stuff so she can show us. I like it.
My parents are Chinese, but they lived in Japan for a few years. They later moved to America two months before I was born, and they raised my sister and I to say "itadakimasu" before every meal.
Did you go to university? What did you study?
Ive been watching you for a while now Emmy and you are one of my favorite UA-camrs! Youre so much fun to watch and I watch videos over and over again! Much love xx
