Updating our chore chart has been on the to do list for far too long. Part of the procrastination was training my younger kids to do some of the chores, the other part was the chores were getting done (by my older kids & myself). Watching this video motivated me to change how we approach chores. We have always had a group block right after breakfast/morning devotion/song time. What I loved about your method is assigning someone (plus a helper) to the kitchen. One of the issues we had prior was it was one child's chore to empty the dishwasher, someone else washed dishes and a 3rd child dried and put away dishes. It never seemed like these tasks were done in a timely manner, which would frustrate the child who wanted to do their chore. This way 2 kids work together; it has definitely streamlined our kitchen cleanup. We have modified that 1 team has kitchen duty for the whole week and the other 2 teams are each responsible for one floor of our house. I have also assign 1 team to laundry for the week. I have 5 kids at home 9-17, so we have 3 teams, this allows an older sibling or myself to teach & observe a younger child in learning new tasks. The other benefit is teamwork which I think makes doing chores go quicker. We are currently on our 3rd week with our new chore chart/rotation and I feel like things are going more smoothly and more areas are being tackled week-to-week. Thanks for the inspiration. Love your channel! FYI - I'm a mom of 6 and have been homeschooling for 19 years.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment with your support for my channel! I'm so glad this inspired you and that you have found a system that is working for you better than what you were doing! Keep up the great work you're doing in you home!

when my kids were around I used to list the chores of the day and I would make the chores divisible by the number of people and then I would pass the list around and we could pick one until they were gone. Worked well for us. Side note, I always got clean toilets and prep for dinner....wonder why 🙂 I also had a list hanging on the fridge of things they had to do if they wanted to go outside and play like make bed, take all their belongings out of the common areas, brush teeth, do hair....you know, make themselves presentable to the public.

Love these ideas! That's funny about the chore you always got after the kids picked, haha! Thanks for sharing that. :)

Great video! I need to update our chore chart as well before school starts and since we now have older kids and more kids!

Oh good! I say better simple and workable than fancy and not used. You're welcome!

This is JUST what I needed to get myself organized to implement something like this. :)
It's time to start something like this because my kids are able to help out more now.
I also appreciate so much the simplicity of your chart.

Such a great video! Switching up our chore system is on my list for this week. Our oldest 3 are all working this summer and we definitely feel the gaps.

Thank you! I can relate. Once they get older and start getting jobs, it's tricky to know who is going to be home when! Enjoy your summer :)

You're welcome! :) As always love the Russian comments! If I had a cyrillic keyboard, I could reply back, but of course, my spelling would probably be horrible, ha!

I'm enjoying your videos so much! Super simple and helpful. Mom to 7 here. Here it's winter right now. Do you have a winter chore chart video? We are stuck inside, homeschooling and yes...lots of pencils under the sofa ❤😅

Oh, I'm so glad to hear that! Haha...pencils under the sofa! I can relate. No, I don't have a winter chore chart video, but it makes a lot of sense to change it seasonally since the needs of the home change so much from season to season.

I'm sorry if you feel uncomfortable but I sincerely give you some thoughts so that you can find the truth if God wills. Because everything you have done is very good but unfortunately you worship other than Allah. I hope you will start doing a little research.
Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Are you urging me to worship ˹anyone˺ other than Allah, O ignorant ones?”
It has already been revealed to you-and to those ˹prophets˺ before you-that if you associate others ˹with Allah˺, your deeds will certainly be void and you will truly be one of the losers. (Az-Zumar 39: 64-65)
