I don’t know if you realize how helpful these videos are! I just got hired as a kindergarten teacher and you have given me so many amazing ideas! I would love to learn more about how you plan your small group work. Thank you for all you do!
It’s crazy how planned out everything is for you! We make/buy all our own resources and are pretty free to do what we want which is both nice and completely overwhelming. Also our kinder is 100% play based so it’s interesting to see seatwork/assigned seats in kinder
That's so interesting! I've heard of other teachers having to provide everything themselves, and it is so different than my school! How do you like teaching 100% play based? Do you teach in the U.S.? I've heard a lot of teachers in other countries talk about this!
haileykatelynn I teach in Canada. I really liked teaching play based kinder when I was a sub but I took a position in a 6/7th grade split this year because the thought of teaching little ones full time scared me 😂
Your channel is a HUGE bless for me. I’m finishing my degree in ECE and I cannot wait to be in the classroom. I have a lot of points of anxiety and your videos dispel a lot of the things I was worried about. I love your content, and I appreciate it so so much
Love your videos! I am a senior in highschool currently but I am going to college to become an early childhood teacher and watching your videos just make me so excited to be where you are in your career! Thank you for being such a great inspiration!
It was interesting to hear your comments about decorating for Christmas - I used to work in a school where lots of the kids didn't celebrate Christmas at home, but we still decorated the school for it and did things like Christmas cards. I think in the UK it's considered to be a cultural thing rather than religious, so schools usually celebrate regardless of their demographic.
“Snow” by Cynthia Rylant is such a cute winter book for young kiddos about snow! We do not formally celebrate holidays either at my school - love that you’re just sticking with the winter theme!!
So you can go into school on a weekend? Very lucky. Love how you use the bins. One of the things I learned as a teacher of 38 years was to "stage" my classroom with learning activities that were conducive to the seasons and units we were learning. The books are so wonderful! Bring that literacy on!
I am not a teacher, never even considered it. But I love watching your videos! As a 23 year old recent college grad getting married and starting the real world, I just feel like I can relate to you!
Yes, it does sound like we are in very similar seasons of life! I'm so glad you enjoy following along even though we have different careers! Congrats on your marriage! :)
You should make a video on book recommendations ! Like holiday books and regular. I think that would be so helpful to other teachers or future teachers.
I love this! I am definitely thinking about getting my bachelors in ece even more since I watched you. I would love if you did a video on grocery shopping and hauls lol
So when I was getting my Associates in WA. I worked with this teacher and to keep her library organized in Kindergarten, she had 2 book return bins and during breaks like recess, lunch, planning periods... she would put them away herself or even had parent volunteers help put them away. I thought this was great because an unorganized library would drive me crazy.
I would love to see a whole video of your favorite children books/ favorite books you have in your classroom! or even books you'd like to add to your classroom collection
I'm interested by the Christmas comment since you celebrated thanksgiving? Are they not held in the same regard? I love your videos! I also teach k! :)
We didn’t “celebrate” Thanksgiving! We just talked about what we were thankful for, and learned about what Thanksgiving was. We didn’t do any sort of feast or anything. And we will do the same with this holiday season, we will learn about different holidays but not “celebrate” any particular one!
Just to clarify, you teach the math whole group and then do the guided practice/independent part in small group? I have been doing this a long time and as of now I do it all whole group, but I'm finding it is not working out the way I want it to go. How many students do you have and how big are your small groups for math. I have 24 by myself and the struggle is trying to figure out group rotations and how much time for each rotation.

That's really interesting! Either way, this season is still a lot of fun while being a teacher! :)
I plan a month at a time with my daycare but it does take a while!
Yes it does!
I think it would be awesome to see a video about your favorite lessons that you have taught!
Ooh this is a fun idea!

Yes we can! I'm very grateful for that. And making things seasonal just makes it so much fun!

Make a class library job. There's usually a few kids that are really good at putting things back.
This is a great idea! Thank you!
that planner is so cute!
I love it! :)
Great idea to plan 2 weeks in advance!
It's actually so helpful!
could you do a video about how you organized your library?? so many people separate their books completely differently with the bins!
Am going to share about it in tomorrow's vlog! :)
You should make a video on book recommendations ! Like holiday books and regular. I think that would be so helpful to other teachers or future teachers.
Love this idea! Thank you! :)

Do it!! Definitely would recommend! Teaching is so much fun! And love this idea! :)
I just did my ECE full time online while running my full time home daycare. It was so busy but so worth it! Definitely encourage you to do it!
Oh em gee do a plan with me video!!

Dollar Tree!
haileykatelynn thanks!
I would love to see a whole video of your favorite children books/ favorite books you have in your classroom! or even books you'd like to add to your classroom collection
This is a great idea! I will be sure to do that soon :)
You Should do ClassDojo
do you have to use a lesson plan template?
I use my Happy Planner!

the5Crows i agree I would also love more information on how you do your small groups!!
Yes exactly! I have 21 students, and in each small group we have 5-6 students. I have found it to work really well with my kids!
I love your video
Thank you!
