    Other reasons to use linux:
    1. You can install most of the softwares or packages just by using single line command.
    2. You don't have to reboot your PC after updating the system.
    3. There is no limit for customization in Linux.
    4. In Linux you have a ton of choices to choose a particular distribution.

Some more reasons with personal experience.
1 Linux doesn't freeze like Win does
2 Installation errors for any programming language or framework is far less.
3 Many Customisations and How to Guide are already available.
    Like I use Mint-Mate 20.3
    My customizations
1 I changed the boring looking GRUB screen gave it a cool GRUB THEME.
2 Installed auto-cpufreq for better battery with great performance on laptop.

For a fresher trying linux it's always recommended to use ubuntu, but make sure you get rid of all the snaps and the snap store (it makes ubuntu kinda bloated it's not compulsory to remove em')
After you've gained 2-3months of exp. Prefer switching to debian, (ubuntu is derived from debian) and after about 3-4 months of exp. In debian you can switch to any distro of your choice.
    Some Popular Distros:
    ~PopOS!
    ~Zorin
    ~Garuda
    ~Kali
    ~Arch
    ~Gentoo
    ~Manjaro
    ~Debian
    ~Ubuntu
    ~Fedora
    ~CentOS
    Additional tip for beginners:
Most of your windows apps would run on linux as well "no virtual box". All you gotta do is to use "WINE" In simple terms it's like an emulator but not an emulator. It translates windows api calls to POSIX calls and hence eliminates the extra performance overhead and that's how it works.
You can run many games as well despite it might be using DirectX12/11(Windows Only API) etc. On linux via WINE

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

out of the box...4k/60 yt playback; no problem....r/w speeds 25-27-ish (MB) ...windows transfer algorithm is soooo bad it always held up at 3-4 sometimes 6MB/s ....in linux 25-27 again .....Everything feels snappy...and can hold 6-7 chrome tabs with spotify, vlc, file explorer, some audio eq's in back no problem....
so far only one problem the ram management is a little off i think my windows showed 3.9gb and linux shows 3.7 which is not ever utilised....if i turn swap off it becomes very laggy even when only 2gigs are occupied..if swap is on i thas no problem it stays like 2gig swap full and 1.5gig ram full but works smooth af....
