  • Two Weeks ago (12-7-2023) I drove around the cities of Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, trying to find the filming locations of the pilot episode of Miami Vice.
The show originally aired on NBC, September 16th, 1984.

The famous "In the Air Tonight" car scene was filmed on LeJeune Road near Ocean Bank. I live like 2 minutes away and I always think about that iconic scene every time I drive by there.

Another excellent video ! In case you don't know, 20 years later, in 2005, that Chalk seaplane fell out of the sky inot the sea shortly after leaving Miami Beach after one of its wings detached. All 18 passengers and 2 crew were killed. If you google "Chalk Seaplane Crash" you can find video footage that coincidentally a touritst captured while filming. There's also a documentary about the cause of the crash you can find on UA-cam also. Greetings from Prague. CZ
