Before the latest issue of Tonequest showed up in my mailbox a couple of days ago, I had not heard of you, Jedd. I want to thank you for devoting your working life to creating and performing your music - it has touched me deeply as I know it does for many other folks.
Absolutely fantastic! I bought this on Band Camp a few week back along with The Lost Tapes. Both are amazing! Support Jedd as much as you can,and Uncle Larry too. Both are vital to keeping the flame of real, soulful, and melodic music burning bright.
I loved the version of this with Sarah and I learned and performed it (my take was in Drop D), but I am going to try to learn this version... something to woodshed!
Jedd - This song and Silver Linings are my two favorites that you've shared with us and definitely on my Repeat-Play list ;-) Your songs convey emotion and evoke an emotional response. Your guitar parts and arragement take me on a journey and are not simply a "backdrop" for the vocal. Very cinematic, memorable and a pleasure to listen to. Just a suggestion - but I would love to have the option to purchase both the full studio version and a bare-bones version of just you and your guitar together, recorded live with one or two mics. That would be suh-weet ;-)
You got a voice too!? Dang didn't know, but then again, I've only seen your guitar videos so far. BTW, "you make me want to be alone" (sung in a mater of fact way): Great line, goose bumps.
Wow!!! Blown away by this song. To me, this feels like a masterpiece created by a true talent. My band has a gig this evening, and this song has given me and the crew some serious inspiration… Beautiful.
I know folks will think this is a crazy comment, but: I FEEL a JJ Cale vibe, like “something inside of me” resonates the same darkness-struggling-with-the-light that JJ seemed to impart to every song……! Damn Good Track !!!!
Wow. Sounds great. I have always wondered: The parts the other musicians play. How much instruction is involved? When the bassist uses the bow. How did that come to be?
Good question! Its a pretty diplomatic process. I hire people based on how I think their natural sensibilities will interpret the songs. The bowed bass part was Byrons idea! So cool right!
I think this is a great song! Unfortunately, I’ve been spoiled by the solo acoustic version you debuted a few days ago.. its slower tempo, to me, is more heart-tugging, and honest. There’s just something special about a person delivering a performance - solo - without any other accompaniment. Still a great song.
Beautiful, haunting tale. Wow.
Great song,- great vibe,- great voice,- great sound. Perfect!!!!
Thank you so much mate, glad you dig it!
Wow!!

Lots more to come!
