People are putting in marley twists to make it even resemble what you have naturally and all grown from your scalp! Lol I'm trying to get on your level! Such an inspiration love ^_^
Efficiently Natural style is absolutely gorgeous!!!! will be doing this to mine next! I have it in faux locs right now. btw...you are so beautiful. thank you for sharing the ways how you take care of your hair, it helps us naturals work with our own hair.
+Jacinta Nwabuogu, awww, you are so sweet. Thank you so much! I definitely appreciate you checking out my channel. I saw in one of your videos that you live in Pittsburgh? I did some of my training there. How do you like it?
Efficiently Natural your welcome and thank you so much!!! Yes I live in Pittsburgh, it's beautiful but I don't like winter lol thinking of relocating soon! ☺
I kept rewinding and checking if u added extensions without me noticing lol. Cuz it's just unbelievable how thick and long those twists looked. So voluminous and yummy 😋. And suits u like mad. U beautiful too. ❤️❤️
You have THE most beautiful hair I've ever seen I'm over here swooning over your hair. I have the same textures and I think our type is beautiful just the way it is. Keep it up.
I cannot wait til my hair gets longer so i can do bigger twists....i do mini twist right now (and i absolutely love them they are making my hair flourish)...thanks for the motivation u were one of the reasons i began this journey....it’s like having loc’d hair for a month....i love it.
Thank you Efficiently Natural for justifying my love of twists lol! So fabulous and I tell you if I ever make it to this length, I will be wearing 2-strand twists ALL of the time okay lol, and yes ma'am the versatility is what makes twists so awesome! My hair is in the medium awkward stage and so my twists styles are nice but limited, I have so many ways I want to style them, but patience oneday, oneday. Thanks for sharing : )
I've been wearing a lot of twists. Like you, I only take them out every month and have seen my hair flourish more this way than constantly doing something to it every week. My hair hates be manipulated and it hates wash n go. But I've struggled with poofy roots and have to stretch my hair to keep it flat. I like your idea of 1st braiding it, then twisting. Will be trying that when I take my current twist out. Thank you.
+Michelle Nesbith-Sykes, glad I could offer some assistance! Twists really are such an awesome low maintenance style for growth and length retention. And they definitely give you a break from the work of styling. And yea poofy roots used to be an issue for me too before I started braiding first. So glad you liked It! Thanks for checking out my channel.
Oh my! I stumbled upon your tension method blow dry video about 2 hrs ago (at 4 a.m.) and have been binge watching ever since. It's now 6 a.m. and I've subscribed! lol...These are THEE MOST beautiful non-synthetic, natural hair twist I have ever seen! You are a lovely sistah and I am damn memorized girl!!! Last month (Dec 5th) made 3 yrs natural for me. The day I decided to return to my natural hair, your length was my goal and now that I've seen you, I am inspired not to give up as I was previously considering. Thank you for starting your channel! 🤗❤
+Letitia Shalonda, no THANK YOU for checking out my channel! I'm so glad you enjoyed my videos. That means a lot me. Congrats on your 3 year natural hair journey. That is a huge accomplishment in itself! Definitely don't give up!!!!! It's so worth it. Best of luck on your journey!!!!
New subbie and fellow 4b/4c-er. Great inspiration! Keep up the vids :) I wear mini-twists off and on. I know someone else mentioned seeing your twists over time - I'd also love to see how you wash, moisturize them over time too. Thank you!
I cant believe I am binge watching your channel since I found it yesterday. Where have you been since my natural journey. I have your exact texture, this gives me hope to grow my hair to waist length too. Great vid as always x
+tgirl4me1, awww thank you!!! Lol- I really appreciate you checking out my channel. Glad you enjoyed the videos. Trust me, as someone who used to dream of waist length hair before I began my natural hair journey, you can definitely get there with the right techniques! Best of luck on your journey! 😊
so glad I found your channel!, I have to learn how to take care of my hair because it's thick and long. I have been natural for ten years now. Your channel is definitely a help.
had to show a sister from Ghana your videos today she has beautiful 4a hair and had no idea what to do... you videos are simple and gives us hope! as for the steamer tip... my hair is o another level
New Subbie - just stumbled across your channel and I am thrilled! Seeing yours confirmed that it can be done with my own natural hair withOUT adding extra synthetic hair. I can't tell you how many times I have been told that it's not possible. Your hair is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your journey and technique with the rest of us!
I have been looking for wearable twists to get an idea what they might look like on me. I am no spring chicken so I don't know! I have been doing the wash and goes for a while and thought I might get a break from the weekly 3+ hours it takes for my hair regime. I so did not want to take up to 5 days on the mini twists I've seen done by some other UA-camrs! I love the chunky twists! Right up my alley, I think! They are absolutely beautiful on you!
I am so glad i found your videos!! We have the same type hair as well as the same length. I will be doing this hairstyle once im over this blowout! Thank you so much hun!!
Girl your hair is so gorgeous! Im over here with my jaw to the floor because your twists look THAT bomb without synthetic hair... Your hair is goals, and I dont know why I've never seen your channel before.... I thought my hair was long, but this video humbled me down a little bit lol. My strands are really fine (though I have a lot of hair), so when I install (mini) twists, it looks like my hair is really thin, so your twists are litterally goals for me. Really impressive!
you did these on wet hair..my hair is way to curly and im so tender headed but i will try this bcus my hair is breaking and shedding a lot...im not retaining my length. i plan to take my vitamins and iron again. the meds im on my be depleting my hair strength
Ho My Gosh... did you just teach me how to do twist on my type 4 hair. Finally Finally I never hexperedit!!! Thank you Thank you never thought of braiding small before twisting.
+Angela Barimah, yay! Congrats on your progress! Thats pretty impressive! Keep up the awesome work and thanks for subscribing! 😊 Glad I could provide some inspiration. Im always looking for the next plateau too. Lol
Our hair looks similar. Mine is super tangly as well. It is also quite fragile and brittle, so while it is extremely dense (lots of strands), I am having some trouble right now achieving super length.
+ananse77, I totally get what you mean. For me just keeping my hair in a stretched style and not letting it get too tangled does wonders for length retention.
Lovely. How long did they take? Also do you plan on posting a video of how they look now that its a month later? Also also did you plan on posting a video on how to take them down or how you maintain them while they're in?
Hey Elissha! Thanks so much for watching. I'm kicking myself for not making a video about what my hair looked like after a month! I actually intended to keep them in for a longer time, but after a month they weren't looking too hot (mostly frizzy). Anyway, I'll be sure to do a video like that in the future. I mostly maintained moisture by spritzing with water and sealing with castor oil every few days. Check out my video on me steaming my hair after taking them out - ua-cam.com/video/NQ99Esiq-R0/v-deo.html
Love your channel name...it totally suits you! :) I've gained some decent length from keeping this style in 4-6 wks during this winter. But I've recently upped my healthy lifestyle choices and am transitioning from a junk food vegetarian to a mostly "vegan" diet and more consistent exercise routine. I've always struggled with anemia due to having the cickle cell trait, but I manage it pretty well with natural supplements. However, since I started this new journey I noticed a boatload of shedding on my last wash day, plus what seems like a texture change from mostly 4b/4c to 4a/4b/4c and also more natural stretch. I'm wondering if it's due to hormonal changes or just my body detoxing from all the junk. Lol! Can you do a video on diet/lifestyle and natural hair please? *Sorry for the long comment. :)
+Mr. Eva I haven't made a hair journey video yet but that will be my next one for sure! I never big chopped...I just slowly transitioned from being relaxed almost all my life. Thanks for watching and subbing and stay tuned for my hair journey video!
Love your hair I think my hair is waist length because a year ago I was bra strap. I l have 4c hair but it does not look long because it’s sooo kinky which I love so I’m following you to get my hair strenth out like yours and stay motivated to maintain my length .But you remind me of shima on yt with hair past her waist but only difference is your hair is natural hers is textulaxe but I think she’s transitioning now.
New subscriber. Love the channel, fellow 4c/4b (front of the head/back) 😊 ..after straightening my hair once last year I notice when I went to wash it again, parts were straightened at the end, heat damaged I'm assuming since you spoke of the same experience. Did you experience it changing back after time, or cut it off? I may be repeating the question, but do you have a video on straighten in the hair and then going back curly/natural state? I'd love to straighten it again, but without this beautiful no an issue again. Thanks!
+moorednc, welcome to my channel! Great question. So after I had my hair flat ironed professionally a few months ago (no idea what heat setting she used), I did notice that the left side of my hair was more stretched after washing. After a few washes though, my curl pattern pretty much returned to normal on that side...maybe only slightly looser if that. A friend of mine said she experienced a similar phenomenon after washing the first time after flat ironing but then had normalization of her curl pattern. I didn't end up cutting my hair....but I might be a bit more careful with having someone else flat iron my hair. I would only cut if you felt your hair was severely heat damaged and/or breaking. I can definitely work on a straight to curly video in the future! My biggest recommendation for making sure your hair reverts is using a low heat setting, using heat protectant, and not flat ironing often (maybe a few times a year).
I'm transitioning and would love to wear my hair in two strand twist but my relaxed ends keep unravelling. Any suggestions? I think it would give me a nice break from having to deal with the two different textures for a while. Also, a great solution to keeping my hair neat when I work out.
+Kia Knox, there are probably a couple of things you could try. The easiest might be just letting your relaxed ends do what they want to do, but rolling the ends with perm rods to add texture/curl. This also helps the two textures look a bit more uniform too. Also, when you are twisting and getting towards the ends you can also try borrowing hair from the other side a few times (rather than keeping both segments of the hair from the twist completely separate). Are your ends pretty blunt? Sometimes that can be a reason for unraveling. Borrowing hair from the opposite side might help. I hope that makes sense?
People are putting in marley twists to make it even resemble what you have naturally and all grown from your scalp! Lol I'm trying to get on your level! Such an inspiration love ^_^
Yu resemble Jennifer Hudson a lot 😀😀 great video 👍👍☺☺
Lol! Me and my sister always get that. Thanks so much for watching.
Efficiently Natural style is absolutely gorgeous!!!! will be doing this to mine next! I have it in faux locs right now. btw...you are so beautiful. thank you for sharing the ways how you take care of your hair, it helps us naturals work with our own hair.
I am very encouraged that my hair will be this length with its thickness. I can't wait 😊 love your hair and your so beautiful!!! ❤
+Jacinta Nwabuogu, awww, you are so sweet. Thank you so much! I definitely appreciate you checking out my channel. I saw in one of your videos that you live in Pittsburgh? I did some of my training there. How do you like it?

I kept rewinding and checking if u added extensions without me noticing lol. Cuz it's just unbelievable how thick and long those twists looked. So voluminous and yummy 😋. And suits u like mad. U beautiful too. ❤️❤️
Beautiful hair! Yeah for long thick hair naturals!
Thanks!!!
I thought these were Marley twists 😂😂. You have beautiful hair!!!
+Phylicia Lyn, thank you!
Just beautiful! I love the size of these twists, they look like Senegalese twists.
+Luvu 21, thank you!

Thank you! For these easy styles and tips for busy naturals. Love it!
You have THE most beautiful hair I've ever seen I'm over here swooning over your hair. I have the same textures and I think our type is beautiful just the way it is. Keep it up.

Thanks so much sameera!
These are beautiful! ... I'm about to go into protective styling for October... and my style of choice is twists.
Thanks so much!! This is definitely my "go to" when I don't feel like messing with my hair in the fall/winter months too.
I cannot wait til my hair gets longer so i can do bigger twists....i do mini twist right now (and i absolutely love them they are making my hair flourish)...thanks for the motivation u were one of the reasons i began this journey....it’s like having loc’d hair for a month....i love it.

Besides this style being a great success, I really like how you sectioned your hair into uneven quadrants before installing twists.
I've been wearing a lot of twists. Like you, I only take them out every month and have seen my hair flourish more this way than constantly doing something to it every week. +ananse77, I totally get what you mean. For me just keeping my hair in a stretched style and not letting it get too tangled does wonders for length retention.

Did you roll your hair as you twisted it to make it tight?
does your finger hurt? I know I couldn't do it due to rheumatoid arthritis. Do you trim your ends?
