- I've recently gotten a lot of DM's on my IG asking for new rider advice so I thought it would be a good topic to talk about. Remember to respect your bike and take your time. Good luck everyone! =)

I always try to be patient because I remember what it was like not knowing a damn thing about riding (not that long ago either) and it's easy to get cocky and think "how do you not know that?" Never hurts to go back to the basics for a refresher - good one bro👌
Mac 215 thanks man, I completely agree! I still remember being 18 yrs old and my dad teaching me how to ride in the front yard of my rental house riding around in the grass learning haha we all start somewhere!
what do you ride?
@@garfunkel2761 ZX6R
@@BJJNINJA215 that’s awesome i’ve been doing a ton of research unfortunately I don’t know many riders (literally 2) and am looking for a cafe racer type bike seems like a good starter and lends well to know how to ride
@@garfunkel2761 my advice is to follow your instincts
Everyone is going to tell you what to do and what to ride
Get what you like and take your time
This video was very helpful. Out of all videos I've seen on this topic, yours is by far the best. Definitely helped me out. Thanks mate!🏍
Megan Douglas thank you Megan!! Happy I could help! 😊
I've dropped my bike once. I was freezing and took a break and thought i got my kickstand down and i only hit my foot peg. I was able to hop off after trying to save it but couldn't catch it. Probably the 2nd or 3rd week i had it. Only had to replace clutch lever. Ever since then i've made sure it was down.
LunaticOn2Wheels yep! It’s a common mistake, I’ve probably dropped bikes 3-4 times at least lol
SALTxTHExWOUND yeah I was pissed at myself but didn’t hurt my bike that much so it was alright haha. I have crashed once like 6 years ago but here in Florida you gotta watch other drivers. Almost been hit plenty of times and I was not speeding or doing anything illegal.
How to ride a motorcycle. Step 1 buy a GSXR 750.
Matt Smith haha YES! 🙌🏻
You got it!
That's exactly what i did :D i bought 750 k7 last week and now i have all winter to look for videos of how to drive here in Finland. looooog winter coming to wait for spring.
Part 2 - ua-cam.com/video/_mqZCVegE08/v-deo.html
SALTxTHExWOUND thanks bro I really appreciate this. I have a ninja 250 2012 and I will start learning how to ride next week. Yes I am tall at 6ft 215lbs but I just want to start somewhere and with something without killing my self
Marckazoe St.vil nothing wrong with starting on a smaller bike, you’ll learn more on it imo. Good luck and ride safe! 👊🏻
SALTxTHExWOUND one more question? I saw that you once had a 250. How y’all are you?
Marckazoe St.vil yes I had a cbr250 for commuting after owning a 550, 650, and 750. It was a great little bike! I’m 5’11” and I felt fine on it 👍🏻
Dang bro you done this video before I did. I was just fixing to do one in the same topic in the near future 🤦🏻♂️. Maybe I’ll do mine on the grok so it’s different. Keep the videos coming
PUNISHER865 there’s tons of these videos out there but it’s good for people to get different points of view so you should make one too. No reason why the same topic can’t be covered by others 😁👍🏻
SALTxTHExWOUND
Ok bro I’ll do my version of it too. Mine won’t be seen until like 2025 lol when I finally get my channel built. Hope to see you all when you all hit the smokies area!
Nice tips. Dropped my Bandit while duck walking it in my porch to move it for just a couple of feet. Dipped it to side and it kept going down & down because of side stand silently pushed back. I was able to move slightly away just in time away with just few scratches on right shin but saved left leg from facing brunt of bike's weight. Now I always start and move bike then visually make sure that side stand is properly extended forward.
This guy is a very good advisor. @ 2:34 , he is absolutely SPOT ON with his advice on something as simple as kickstand(side stand) savvy. VERY VERY important information for "all" riders to grasp. MAKE SURE that stand is either full UP, or FULLY extended!! Do a VISUAL CHECK EVERYTIME you extend that stand, BEFORE you dismount. That habit alone, will save you a lot of headache, heartache, embarrassment, and $$$.
Thank you!
Road 5s!😍😍
Luis Campos yesss! My favorite!
6:00 lubing the chain doesnt actually do anything.
I think it was either RevZilla or Fortnine that did a whole video investigating it.
This is because the lube doesnt actually get inside the link connections, and the lube makes no difference on the outside of said chain, because it just gets washed away as soon as you start riding, plus you dont want zero friction on your sprockets, you want them to catch the chain with friction.
Another important point before you ride any bike for the first time is to make sure that all the controls are in a position where you can operate them easily and instinctively. It is worth taking a little time to adjust brake and clutch levers, gearshifter and brake pedal so that they are right for you.
Just picked up my first bike. It’s just a 250 but eager to start this new journey!
The Bearded Ninja congratulations man that’s awesome! I rode a 250 for about a year a few years back and they’re great beginner bikes! Part 2 shifting and Downshifting will be posted tomorrow! Thanks for watching! 😁👍🏻
I'm looking forward to learn how to ride a bike in future and get my own as well. Can't wait for another video! Keep it up!
Nikola Mijuskovic thank you! Part 2 shifting and Downshifting will be posted tomorrow! Thanks for watching! 😁👍🏻
u get that bike yet?
Thank you so much for these vids I want a sports bike and this is helping so much
Thanks for watching!
You keep high beem on??
I always keep high beams on during the day, the cars can see you coming twice as far away. and it doesn’t bother their eyes in the daytime, at night I switch back to low beam
Wheres the seatbelt?
I'm learning bike now but I'm scared yet. When I saw your videos it helps to goes out scare to drive bike.
(sorry for bad English,I think you know what I'm Said)
Which model suzuki is that bro, it's clean
Dropping my comment so i can remember to thank you in the future. Buying a CBR 300 at the end of the year 😁
Love your bikes the colors are amazing!
Jackie0930 thanks Jackie! I’ve thought about wrapping it but the blue and yellow are definitely a great color combo 😍
SALTxTHExWOUND they really are and then with the white it’s just perfect.
Don't gotta pull the clutch in on my new Suzuki 1k :) I always thought that was silly on the older and lower displacement ones that they required that.
Moto Mike this is true! Although I think it would help in the case of a their trying to steal the bike bc they wouldn’t know how to start it lol and if you had curious kids! 😂👌🏻
Can I still keep the bar end weights like you have with the after market mirrors do I just buy mirrors or do I need adaptor little help salty
It's going to depend on your bike but most bikes you can still use the stock bar end weights with bar end mirrors :)
What about belt driven??
Belt driven is the same, just a different drivetrain
crazy cause when I took the course to get my endorsement I was on a Suzuki and I had I think once or twice I tried to start it without the clutch and nothing happened
Humberto Cruz haha yep!
great video ! very well explained , i'm looking forward to the next part of it !
cody schurmans thank you Cody! It’ll be up in 2 weeks 😁👍🏻
Part 1/2 - Have the bike delivered.
In my first newbie I knew no more than this part one, so had it delivered, in my second newbie, after 30 something years of not riding, I rode it home, don't do that, it was scary.
Nice Video, thank s for this useful demos, i feel like riding from Europe to US.
Otherwise how much is this bike or what is its name?
Well done young salt Jedi 😊🏍
AmenCornerRider haha thanks!!
Thanks for all the tips bro. You too take care and ride safe. 🙂🤝❤️
ahmed ali ador thank you brother!
@@SALTxTHExWOUND Your most welcome bro. 🙂🤝👍
Why is neutral in between 1st and 2nd?
Charlie Hodgdon honestly not sure, that’s the way they’ve always been.
My best guess is that it’s so you don’t unbalance the bike and get your foot stuck clicking it up while stopped. Could cause you to drop it, so they make you click it down to first from a stop to keep your foot free. Tbh in a car you have to go through neutral between every gear.
Obligatory disclaimer edit: I have never ridden a motorcycle
I’m only 5’3-5’4 I’m going to be looking to get a 2009 GSXR 600/750
Great info. Thanks man 👍
Mish S 😁👍🏻
Hi I am a ten year old girl and I want to get a motorcycle but I don’t which on to get
Bikeporn
Carlos Aviles 💦💦💦
Excellent teaching here well narrated.
I know your nervous, but stop saying obviously. These beginners don’t know 🤷🏾♂️
jjbing3 haha sorry, I was trying not to have any brain farts but it OBVIOUSLY didn’t help 🤪😂
I want to get a bike but I don’t want to get hit by someone else that would suck and probably kill me.
Rude420Boi im planning on making a “how to stay safe” Video here soon! You can lower your risk chances by just taking a few precautions 👍🏻
Those mirrors are useless
Thanks gee
Any time
Great stuff - thanks man!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
2:55 lol omg... If someone doesnt understand this, they shouldnt ride a bike.
You're basically explaining the equivalent of saying "If your shoelaces are off, you might lose your shoe".
How can a human being above the age of 4 not understand this?
Maybe the MOST IMPORTANT thing to check that you left out is to check the brake fluid levels and if both the front and rear brakes are actually working. Not only the brake lights.
You can forget about the kickstand and drop your bike as many times you are dumb enough not to learn by that experience, the part you spend the most time on in this video. The chain can rot for all I care (your "most important tip"), it will not save your life. However, It just take one brake attempt with brakes not working to ruin your life. CHECK THE COMPLETE BRAKING SYSTEM.
Plus, it would be better to demonstrate it all on a beginners bike and not a sport bike.
A thumbs down for this video.
