So I backed this because I am a big fan of the game. In all honesty, I didn't really look at the gameplay features, just wanted the minis and to be part of it. This video has shown me that I backed correctly! I am used to bog setup and teardown games (KD:M, looking at you), but the little details mentioned here get me excited to receive my full pledge. Great video guys!
This was the first time I played a boardgame where the first player token gave me optional actions to take, I don't usually bother with first player markers/tokens before in any other game but that's not happening in stalker. All the little game mechanics and details they put into this game really make the experience more unique and enjoyable.
Another great review, from the channel which has become my favourite board game channel. The devil really is in the details with these reviews. You guys are great. Keep up the good work!!
That might be a nice catchy name for that section: "The Devil in the Details" or as a play on it: "The Devils (and Angels) in the Details." That would be long to say, but they don't say it, the just put up text.
I'm glad y'all pointed out the rulebook. It's my biggest complaint about the game and it kind of feels like an overcorrection by Awaken Realms. It's just SO DAMN DENSE and was a chore to get through, and an equally large chore finding things. I will say though, I think this might genuinely be the smartest AI in any board game because of how they react to the noise.
Great review! A bit disappointed about the "story" elements being a little thin even when compared with the Prologue version, but it looks like a great game nonetheless and I can't wait for my pledge to arrive.
V*Sabotage has a wonderful coop stealth mechanic. Its game play is more like puzzles than dungeon crawlers. You have to plan breaking stealth. Choosing the wrong moment and all hell breaks loose. The game is tense.
Hey if you want a great stealth game you might have a look at Earth Under Siege Flashpoint. This game is a gem and it will run a new campaign at gamefound soon!
I am relieved the stealth in stalker is much better than assassin’s creed cause the op is right the stealth sucked . Roll a die and “op I guess everyone can see me now”… in any case hoping stalker hits retail at some point
I cancelled my pledge too but not because of the specifics of the changes. I was more concerned that they didn’t have a clear idea about the fundamental design of the game. I haven’t seen anything that makes me regret my decision to cancel. Besides, if it is great and sells well, they will put it on Kickstarter again in the future like they have done with Nemesis
@@dvoid665 but they said the story part became less important, honestly that is sad and has nothing to do with gameplay clunkiness (you can streamline gameplay without ditching the story elements)
Im the kind of person that just enjoys playing with as many people as posible. I will play this with 4 players most likely; I just love playing with multiple friends.
I cancelled my pledge on this game. I became concerned that they didn’t have a clear idea about the fundamental design of the game. If you want some cute, quaint English words for the specification section, perhaps: Game Niceties (pip pip) might be fun ;P perhaps even Game Particulars/Cardboard Characteristics.... Regardless, your content remains sublime, thank you so much for your artistry and your palpable friendship dynamic :)
THe game's just arrived! Can't wait to dive in. I ordered the most complete option with all the minis and they are amazing. As a Ukrainian myself I laughed when I saw a companion named Patron, because it's a real Ukrainian dog reference
Other games with strong stealth mechanics: Earth Under Siege and Assassin’s Creed (expansion one better). I have EuS on my game table now. IMO, good… Waiting on my AC & Stalker pledge. Y’all have me super excited for this!
Overview maybe? And the overlay cards they took from Etherfields. From description feels like it is mosh mesh from all kinds of there projects. Skipped it purely because of dice
Could you guys plz stop reviewing all these games, my wallet doesnt like it 😅 Every single time I watch, I want to buy the board game! You guys are the best Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Too bad its a campaign game! Too many of those not enough time/people to play them! Also for your system requirements... You should call it a few things: 1) Fast Facts 2) Quick Breakdown 3) Rapid Rundown

…and the video game is based on the excellent book “A roadside picnic” by the Stragtsky bros.
can’t wait to play it!
And the movie STALKER

Wait do you have your copy? I thought this was still months out.
@@CamObscura88 I did the split wave shipment and got the first part last week.
@@moo2k4 ah darn, probably should’ve gone with split wave!
@@CamObscura88 Always choose split wave... I have recently pledged, so I'm also waiting.
Etherfields does overlay tiles. As i remember right?
yep.

I like the new details section. I think details is a fine name for it

Ideas for what to say in that section:
OVERVIEW
RUNDOWN
CLARIFICATIONS
SPARK NOTES
"Rundown" sounds right.
“So… you only look at that camera then?” 😂

That section seems like a “things you should consider”
because they changed the game so much during development I canceled my pledge. But I hope all backers will have fun with this.
The changes were for the better, honestly. The prototype seems clunky by comparison.

Seems like it could be compared to Nemesis in some ways. The noise definitely reminds me of that

You can late pledge now if you want to. I just did.

Does it compare to Burncycle then? A great stealth game from what people say.
Maybe Nemesis?
Burncycle is really good. Not campaign, more standalone missions. I haven’t played stalker yet so i’m curious to see how they compare.
Awaken Realms use overlay cards quite a lot, Good review
I know thematically it&/ similar to Zona, but gameplay wise it looks totally different is it fair to say they’re separate enough to own both?
Game specs perhaps?

Those kinds of details for the 'details' section are sometimes called the minutiae ("the small, precise, or trivial details of something.").
Damn... We've ordered it for our 4 members group🙈
I think specifications review or just specifications or Game specifications sounds good.
Nuts and bolts
Will it run on my Radeon card?
Which Radeon? ;)
Overview maybe? And the overlay cards they took from Etherfields. From description feels like it is mosh mesh from all kinds of there projects. Skipped it purely because of dice
Game Details maybe?
Make me think of Heredity, I don't know if you know this game (event pile, creating the board and changing with the event...)
Heredity would be the only alternative I guess, seams really similar
I'm trying to think of a name for the new section... Basic info, maybe? The essentials?
Essential Information would be good.
@@leighmastertoun1243 I actually prefer the "Game Specs" option that someone else mentioned, much better than my suggestions 🙂
Alternative may be earth under siege flashpoint
"Key Takeaways" instead of details is my recommendation

Breakdown? Or Rating Breakdown?
Breakdown is what came to my mind, too.
It's both a campaign game and a one-shot scenario game.
Cmon, dude on the left pretends not knowing that Chornobyl is in Ukraine? What are you ? Russian Latvian or what?
Is the game better at 3 players than 4 players? We plan playing at 3 players so I hope it is better at that player count than at 4.
Too bad its a campaign game! Too many of those not enough time/people to play them!
Also for your system requirements... You should call it a few things:
1) Fast Facts
2) Quick Breakdown
3) Rapid Rundown
I like 1. Fast facts
It also has a very cool, thorough one-shot mode too!
Call it, "Breakdown" or "Game Breakdown"
Game mechanics?
