You saved me from big trouble. Why Acer would create crap BIOS setting like this? Spent lots of time to boot Ubuntu from thumb drive and this security setting was holding me. Big thank you for taking time to create and post this video.
Thanks a lot dude. You just saved the "day" !!
Thank you nanba🙋
what if you only have administrator and user password??
It hasn’t worked for me even though I have almost the bios that u do hv ☹️
Try restart then enter bios again.
You could also try resetting to factory defaults
I don't have a boot tab I have system configuration tab and there I found boot options, I press enter I get a different tab then the one you have but I set a password and did everything but my secure boot was still grayed out can you help please
Short version: Set supervisor password, it will unlock the option to disable the secure boot.
That explanation did not need a 4 minute video. Thanks though.
At least people are helping those who are new to these things. You don't need to be this sarcastic. You don't help.
So many times I go to find a solution to find it is BS.. This worked like a charm. Thanks.
Very good ! Compact and clear comments. Grand merci!
Thanks that did it! Had to do it once in the past on another password, didn't cross my mind to just set it back to clear afterwards that time. Thanks for the video!!
Even after that it's greyed out.
My key is stuck on secure boot option what should I do?
BRO,,
AFTER DOING THIS ,IT RETURNS TO THE SAME PAGE . PLS HELP ME TO SOLVE THIS
Try to reset the security boot settings (under advanced)
Didn't work for me. Even after disabling secure boot the secure boot status just beneath it is always enabled and greyed out.
Ahhh the notepad, the most secure password saver!
Thats really helps me a lot. It saves me a lot of money
Mine was turned off because CSM was enabled. SO I disabled CSM, so could see secure boot option and enabled it, after doing so computer will only enter BIOS, will not boot to OS and see no ability to chose or boot to an OS while secure boot is enabled on Gigabyte X390 Pro. I did not have any passwords set in BIOS, was that the issue? We are going to see the need for some videos on enabling Secure Boot option as without it we cannot upgrade to Windows 11, we must have Secure Boot to use that OS...
Thank you so much sir . This is exactly what i needeed❣️❣️❣️
Love you man you saved me your video really helped me a lot thanks brother ❤️❤️🙂🥺
I can't get the uefi boot order it's only showing the boot priority order :/ helppppp like so this guy can see

My own settings are quite different. I was able to set the security password but the "Secure Boot" option is still "greyed out". When I tried disabling "Legacy Support" I get the error that I won't be to boot into Windows. What can you suggest?
It’s two years late but I have the same issue and want to know if you got the solution

Before doing this we have to convert MBR to GPT right and then only we have to go to BIOS and do this for enabling secure boot? In my BIOS, i have seen secure boot option. So does this mean that my motherboard support EUFI?

How to find Secure boot option in Asus x55 series having radeon processor
Thank you for such a great laid out tutorial, liked!
Thank you, after a lot of useless info on Lenovo forums, this was very helpful
Another solution is in BIOS, go to BOOT/KEY MANAGEMENT and select " clear secure boot keys" After that, secure boot gets disabled. That's what worked for me. No need to watch an AD-infested video to explain what you can do when you can simply WRITE a short tutorial..
Thank you! This was the only thing that worked for me.
I did that too, didn't chance anything for me.
Followed all steps of is still not selectable
thank you very very much
on my acer bios, i can't press up and down or f5/f6 to raise my hdd flash drive, because there is a description as below.. please help, why is this?

Hello, I need your help, how do I solve it if boot mode is greyed out?

in 10 second you solved my problem, amazing, thanks.
My entire UEFI is grayed out. I can't access anything in it. I can't boot from a thumb drive, only the hardrive with Fedora. F12 gives me two options, both fedora.
Hi. I have an Acer aspire ES1-732 with 4 GB ram. I wanted to replace my win 10 operating system with win 7. It hangs horribly on everything the processor usage is constantly 100% spun up. I turned off the tpm et the secure boot went grey the uefi tab is not selectable. Whatever I do I cannot install from usb or disk. Can you advise me what the problem could be ? I've tried everything to reset it but the uefi remains greyed out any tips ? F12 boot menu does not give any boot options either. Thanks in advance for your help.
