This was the last Stanley Cup championship for the Wings until the 90s. It wasn't because Howe yielded superstardom to Bobby Hull. Rather, until 1970, the Canadiens were so dominant in the Beliveau era that they won all but 5 Stanley Cups. Bobby Hull only won one Stanley Cup - 1961. The Leafs won 3 in row from 62-64, and one in 1967 (haven't won since). All the rest were won by the Canadiens.
1:36 min. mark. Ted Lindsey gets two big goals and didn't back down to anybody in the process, even when he was being roughed up by two Habs (Tom Johnson and Butch Bouchard) on the first goal, here.
No mention of the Richard Riot? That totally influenced this series. Montreal lost their best player for the balance of the season and the entire playoffs over a questionable suspension
The Richard Riot took place before the season ended and wasn't caused by the Wings. It is pure speculation whether it would have changed the series. The Wings won the previous Stanley Cup. In an ironic way, the suspension may have been worse for the rest of the league. While perhaps only the first was with a fiery incentive, the bottom line is that after that year (1955), the Canadiens went on to win 5 straight Stanley Cups in the last years of Richard's career.
Every time any of the team scores a goal, about 3 seconds later, there is this sorta whistling sound. At first, I thought it was something whistling for joy but it sounds like it's a pre-recorded audio. Does anyone know anything more about that?
It's a fact: To the date, 1955 has been the only year in which World Series, NHL Finals and NBA Finals all went to seven games.
Jackie Leclair was my uncle. Great golfer too. ;)

Not too many talk about Doug Harvey who was worth about half the team by himself

They probably didn’t have the rink mic’d up back then, so all the crowd sound effects for this were added later on
Red Wings!!
What came first? A mouth full of broken teeth or the Goalie Mask?
