Jocelyn, here are two ways you can use the vanilla in the van. One can last for years. There used to be an old cooking show, called “the take home, Chef” on one episode, he made a fruit dessert that was caramelized in a cast-iron pan on the stove top. It used vanilla bean. I made it years ago and it was aromatic and amazing. If I can find the recipe, I’ll add it. The other way is to use a high alcohol, flavorless liquor to make your own vanilla extract. Basically put several of those pods in a Mason jar full of your choice of liquor and let it marinate for at least one year. They say the longer you leave it, the better it gets. It would be a really fun way to use it since you could sample it and enjoy it for years to come. Every time you use it, you can remember the special way you purchased it.
I love cast iron baking! But it’s more about our sink being smaller than a mixing bowl. 🥲 and NZ has really strict fire laws which means even coals aren’t allowed which is how I prefer to bake in a cast iron outdoors.
@@TaklyntheWorld yeah, I love to make my steaks in cast iron. One thing I’d like to try is making southern style buttermilk biscuits on a campfire. One of the ideas I have for the vanilla extract is to use it in cocktails, like adding a little bit to my favorite, old-fashioned. Anyway, you use it, I’m sure it will be great. Vanilla is really special and the worlds favorite flavoring. Enjoy!
That stuff you're eating in the coconut, on Guam we have a similar recipe. It's called Ahu, meant be served warm. It's a sweet and warm coconut soup, same thick consistency with plenty manha (young coconut meat).
Bros tone and words made the vanilla beans sound like a super fine wine 🤣. Also I used to work in pest control for mosquitos we used a botanical spray for skeeters it was like a mixture of cedar oil, tyhme oil, and cinnamon oil. It actually worked to repel skeeters, however not as good as the synthetic pesticides. Maybe if u run out and have those items around u can try it out
Your coming to New Zealand ? Hope to see you around Wellington/ Kapiti Coast. If you want a place to park your Van/Stay . I work at a camping place close by the sea. Let me know and I can arrange park up for free 😊👍🏽
Next stop nz.. I have watched your videos In niue... I'm from niue and.live.in Auckland. If.u need.a plc.to stay... my hone is available.. let me know in advance.
🌴 gee guys being stuck in paradise 🙄 ya ya I know it’s a tuff job ! , but somebody’s gotta do it 🤣 other than the skeeters 🦟 it seems like a great place , so you really should include fishing rods in your backpacks ( EDC) especially from a sushi chef 😄👊🏼✌🏼
Love you guys, wow Jocelyn you pronounced "Niue" perfectly, respect. Thank you for sharing your amazing experienced in Niue ❤❤🥰.

My favorite episodes, the Niue ones ..
When you get to NZ, try the feijoa fruit. It’s not native there but they grow it commercially
Amazing as always 👌
Try lemon grass tied around your legs and arms. Totally works and keeps the mosquitoes away. I kinda feel like a warrior when I do it too 😆

Try the yellow dragon fruit. That’s the best in my opinion.
