    You know this recipe is a winner when your fussy 10 year old devours this like there's no tomorrow. My kid hates anything coconuty and it was a hit at my place. The cake was gone by next morning, it is that good. A must try cake. My house smelled soooo goood that We couldn't wait enough for the cake to cool completely before digging into it. Thank you Smriti for sharing such simple recipes that even a kid can follow and the results that it yields is Wow

    Tried the recipe... The cake tasted amazing. Lovely crumb. Was demolished in secs. And best of all it was so easy to make. And i think one of my first eggless cake without condensed milk. Can't wait for more flavours in this series...

    I tried this today in a loaf pan. It turned out amazing! The sweet coconut aroma in my my kitchen while it was cooking made me so eager to taste it! It was soft, moist, flavorful and the crunchy top was the perfect finish -my favorite part.
    Could you please also share the cup measurements of the ingredients? I do understand that it is more accurate by weight, but everyone might not own a weighing scale.

    I Made coconut cake using ur recipe with a few changes.. N filled it with some mango custard n frosted with chocolate ganache.. N it turned out delicious.. Thank you for d recipe❤ it's a keeper...

    Hi smriti your coconut tea cake was delicious only one point I wanted to ask was the cake sunk after taking out of the oven and also it was so soft it broke while cutting pls guide

      1. Make sure you bake the cake completely. If taken out prematurely, the cake can sink.
      2. Cool the cake down completely before slicing into it.

      Coconut oil would make this cake too oily. You can try the recipe with coconut oil and let me know how it worked out.

      @@smritisspecial made this recipe few days back and didn’t change the recipe at all. It tasted amazing and it was very moist ! Everyone enjoyed it :)
      I used Daburs coconut milk and it made my batter not as thick as yours, can I know which coconut milk you’ve used ?

    Can this be used for frosted cake.... And can I try reverse creaming method for making the batter...would that affect the texture

      Yes you can use this cake with frosting. All methods will give you different kinds of crumbs. If you want to use reverse creaming, try, and let us all know how it was different from the crumb of cake shown in the video with the creaming method.

    Hi smriti, I baked the coconut cake , taste was really nice , though I faced a hitch , firstly it sank slightly in the centre , secondly it was extra crumbly , please guide

      A cake sinks if it is taken out of the oven pre maturely. Make sure to cool the cake down completely before cutting into it.

      Sorry, this cake cannot be made Gluten Free. There would be a lot of changes required for the cake to come out with a good texture.

    Can you please tell the oven settings as well. For example, was it 2 rods on with the fan on.

      Always for all the bakes. Both rods on and if you have a fan, then fan on, in the middle rack.

      No. That's won't work. Butter is saturated fat and oil is unsaturated.

      Bake at a lower temperature for a longer time. It might be an uneven heating oven issue.

    Hey smrithi! I love your recipes.today I tried your coconut cake.i doubled the measurements to the tee .the batter wasn't firm like yours.it was like a sponge cake batter. It sank while baking and broke while unmoulding. I heated water dissolved Maggie Coconut milk powder and used. What could have gone wrong?. also doubling baking soda and baking powder is too much? Please help.

      Was the milk you used too thin? That seems to be the case with using very less powder. Also, check your oven temperature with a thermometer to make sure it is not wavering from what its showing.

    Tried ur recipe fr 2 times bt cake not baked fully .. i hv bake almost 1 hr still not baked ... i measure every ingredients in grams ..i put even oven thermometer so no heating issue i regular bake goods in the oven bt only with ur coconut cake recipe didn't work ..why will u guide ?
    Ps :- half baked cake tastes so good 😅

      This is hard to judge. I hope you are baking in your OTG with both rods and fan on in the middle rack.
