Ask and you shall recieve. This is how the game works, they need our feedback. We're creating the universe, We're molding our lives in space and sometimes you have to barter and make deals to get what you want. Thank you FDev for listening and thank you to everyone for contributing to make this happen! o7 CMDRs, see you in the black!
I would thank them on the forums, but after being a backer, a thanked community member, creator of community goal charity event art published by FDEV official, a charity event promoter, etc, I complained about other projects getting more attention and a couple of bugs that have yet to be resolved, FDEV forums banned me for "harassment" towards employees, when to my knowledge, none of them participated in the discussion, nor was there any finger pointing at any singular person. So it's nice of them to listen to you instead of banning you for being critical of them.
I think the usual 25% cutoff (and one more rack for each tier) would have been just as reasonable, But in the end, I think some kind of unlock is more in line with a community goal. I got a spike of activity and purpose in my game play Saturday (was away on Sunday) which in itself is a good thing, I know there was a movement to send in alts to deliver just one single ton to buff up the number of players that got their cargo rack, would be interesting to see how many of those there were.
This is pretty cool. Speaking as a commander that plays intermittently due to work, home and family commitments a lot of the time CG's are mostly out of my reach, time wise so I hope I just get the time to take part in this CG. Well done Commander 👏 posted on forums 👍
The timing was crappy after commanders dedicated the time to make the 50% goals....but I guess it's better to have more than less corrosion-resistant racks. I just don't like the timing. Just remember the lesson so that you don't waste our time again. I really hope it doesn't cause players to be bumped out of the 50%. It looks like the 50% point is actually moving down as lots of players are doing a single delivery run,
What are you talking about? If you add more players to the low end you are _increasing_ the size of the top 50%, not decreasing it. In other words, it has the opposite effect of what you are saying there, ie. it's pushing more people into the top 50%. Math am hard?
Without a doubt an excellent decision on the part of FDev, thank you to them for listening to the community. I just wanted to say one more thing: I'm an ED veteran, I've been playing the game for a few years. I know well that the community in general can be quite critical and noisy when the situation requires it. But I also know that the ED community is very generous and grateful and that it is not very difficult to please, it is enough that FDev does not ignore us and finds solutions for the situations that the community identifies. And the truth is that, when the ED community raises questions, they are usually very relevant and easily resolved. Once again, thank you for listening to us and resolving this situation. And thanks to CMDR Mechan for speaking up for so many of us. o7 everyone and fly dangerously!
Nice shout out. Will give a +1 on the forums. Happily already "safely in 50% bracket" but this is just goodness all round. Glory to mankind etc. etc. o7
Not the perfect solution but given that its an ongoing event, they showed they listened and that alone is cause for celbration and praise. I just hope they stick to it and make lasting changes for the future for community events to be community.
Agreed. I think this was a solid move and am glad they listened to the community. Even if I didn't fully agree with everything you previously said I certainly think this was a good move by them.
This is such a bad decision. All of those people who spent hours working hard to transfer cargo must be over the moon that I'm going to get the same reward as they do when I deliver my 1 ton of cargo. Nice way to devalue people's time.
@@Astyrrean If you can keep up in the 50% which since they've added a new tier in may not be possible for some people. So all those people who worked hard to get into the 50% and may now fall out due to extra tier their effort is worth the same as the 2 tonnes of cargo I'm going to drop later
I'm getting two racks now It is a straight up win for me Its your opinion that people feel like their time is devalued but I think it's the opposite I feel like my time was better spent now that I get two instead of just one
@@chrisgood8438 I mean compared to yesterday … if you were in the top 50% you got one, if you weren’t you got nothing. Now if you participated at all you get something. If you hauled more than half of participants, you get double the reward. This will attract hundreds more people, maybe up to a thousand, to the CG. The 50% threshold will go down, not up. What’s not to love … they did the right thing.
There is no pay to win, You can get all the ships and their equipment (which is mostly unengineered btw, with few exceptions) in game for credits within a reasonable time.

When you do help the homeless though, I hope you show them kindness and encouragement on the paths they aspire to follow, and not put them down for what they choose to make part of their lives or for the communities they select to serve.
Thanks to FDEV, but also thanks to YOU for using your voice and platform in a positive tone to help incite positive change.
Thank you for making this video! FDev needs to hear positivity as well!

Concur, I guess I’m grinding deliveries tonight.
lol I did a double take when I saw my university in the background.
I don't have facebook, twitter or forum accounts, but at least I can thank you sir
I did try to also point out issues with the Guardian SLF's but as you may imagine, it got ignored.
Luckily, they listened to this. Glad they did.

This feels great as someone who skipped the whole thing, because I figured out it was bs from the start. Just awesome. Stay cool in Atlanta.
Back at 30,000ft. And yes Atlanta was scorching!

Great news! This is putting the community back into CGs.
Meanwhile us console players are still left to the wayside.
It's sad. It's also unlikely to change I'm afraid. Buy a PC and transfer your account! :)

It actually helps! Every player that contributes 1 ton to get the guaranteed rack is another player that gets moved into the top 50%!
@@faerkhan
Actually you need two new players on the bottom half to have one player move to the top half, but anyway.
Good one CMDR Mechan and well done Frontier!
You made a difference!
Thank you Sir.
🙌🙌🙌 thank you, sir. fdev saw you and listened. Glory to Mankind
Constructive criticism is constructive
Great, now they can wait out 10 weeks of their notoriety...
U in Atlanta me too
For today yes!
This is why I love this game. The community is solid and the devs are amazing
Hey dude, are you in Atlanta ?
I was ... for a day!
I’ve been on vacation the past week so missed a lot. How long do we have till this CG is done?
At the rate of completion, it looks like you have about a day and a half.

they did announced hiring some agency for this some time ago, didn't they
Yes, Kudo's Fdev.

It’s gross how FDev is captive to their most toxic, unbalanced players/influence
and who would that be
Alas, they are NOT.
From the title i thought they might have removed pay to win.
there is no p2w, the prebuilt ship builds are very very bad

Stockholm syndrome
....so serious about a stupid computer game. Go spend some time with the homeless instead of wasting time that has zero meaning in a game

@Cavalier70 Why dont you go spend time with homeless yourself instead of watching YT vids that has obvioulsly no interest for you? This I wonder...
Still waiting on an Odyssey specific CG... three years and little to no reason to leave the ship.
Exobiology is extremely lucrative, and a nice change of pace to the rest of the gameplay.
There was one at the spire sites a few months back.
Good Shit FDEV. 🫂😘
