    You know, I've spent like a while trying to find a good openttd series on UA-cam, this was one of the best. You are one funny, charming, and entertaining duder. Thanks for this thing, it was a blast to watch!

    What an incredible series!
    I'd love to see a season 2 (maybe with a bit less water - I think it definitely allows my networks to be more creative, and besides, mountains are a more fun challenge to navigate imho), or even some more advanced tutorials like you mentioned. The biggest thing for me is how to upgrade a junction with more lanes, that's certainly the biggest thing I struggle with yet you've made it look easy doing it nearly every episode. I end up having to completely remove a junction to rebuild it because I can't wrap my head around it. You could even pick up on a series lugnutz himself started and fix some viewers networks if you get any map submissions you think would make for some good content.

    • @ChuggersLR
      @ChuggersLR  9 місяців тому +2

      I definitely agree about the water, it really cut the functional space of this map down to half what it should have been.
      A 2+ lane junction tutorial is high on my todo list, I'll make sure to cover adding additional lanes as well. There really aren't any tutorials that cover anything past 2 lanes, and even for 2 lanes and under the choices are pretty slim.
      I've considered doing a "fixing your networks" type series, but I don't really know where I could take submissions from. Maybe I could give out my discord tag or something.

    I got drawn in by the thumbnail of this episode, wondering what mod the 3D view was, but ended up watching the entire series. Absolutely fantastic! I love the background jazz, but the mixing up of the music keeps it fresh (and the occasional editing tricks at the start - I found the whole screen rotating to keep the train vertical very funny). Your style has a nice cadence to it and it makes it easy to watch (my gf likened it to Jeb Gardener's content, and I feel that's reasonable - in a good way). I'll definitely be looking out for your next series! I'm not an OpenTTD expert, but I've played a bit, so this is a nice level for me. The only thing I felt wasn't explained or mentioned that I'd have liked to know what they were for were the little impossible-to-navigate loop-backs that you do before merges - I assume it's to make sure trains wait further back, but I don't really understand how that compares to other methods?
    Either way, fantastic content!

    • @ChuggersLR
      @ChuggersLR  8 місяців тому +4

      Thank you for the kind words 😀The 3D mod is something I programmed in unity that generates meshes from heightmaps, and projects a full-map screenshot onto the meshes.
      The loop-backs are priority lanes, in short, they give the right-of-way to the lane whos traffic flow is more important. I probably should have explained those at some point considering they are all over the place 😅

    Very epic 3D outro and an end to a very good series, also the staring trains 1-510 really make me laugh. I am looking up to the next series. Its really hard to find a good OpenTTD youtuber these days. Thanks for the series, really inspired me to actually learn the game. Once again thanks and bye bye.

    • @ChuggersLR
      @ChuggersLR  9 місяців тому +1

      I've been looking for some lesser-known industry sets lately, I've found a couple that I have some plans to make videos for. I'm just afraid FIRS might end up being too long of a series/might be too overwhelming to tackle solo. I've got a steeltown game running with a few friends at the moment and we've only serviced around half the industries after quite a bit of building and I can't imagine how I'd handle that on my own

    • @krawc0
      @krawc0 9 місяців тому

      @@ChuggersLR oh, I can see your point and how that would be a Herculean task considering the production boosts with supplies. I only play citybuilder games, 14k goal in FIRS extreme economy being my favorite but that's completely different experience, such game takes about 2h and you don't get to build insanely complex and busy networks like you seem to enjoy the most 😅

    Hopefully the next map will be less cramped, the game feels too toy-like when rail junctions are several times larger than towns.
