i have toggle sprint on and use Q for sprint, which is really easy to reach since ESDF makes space for Q A Z
I use my ring finger for holding shift ngl

Its also good for not dropping your items on accdient, so when u press Q since your using ESDF when u press Q its going to be W so u wont drop your pickaxe into lava lol thats also a perk that goes with ESDF

fun fact: even after explaining all of this, people will still ask about it. So go into kestrokes mod and change it from showing key letters to only direction arrows and it looks cleaner

esdf best meta used it for months love the other keys i can use now and more natural hand placement

this just pop in my recommendation and im enjoying thing after i was rageing because of lag
i used esdf because i had muscle memory on touchtyping and didnt like how u shift ur hand one spot to the left, i was tempted to use d for forward and something else for back so that i didnt have to move my left hand to start typing, but i couldnt find a nice one lol
µpdate my F key bROKE, i am now a normie wasd µser, i am also a dvorak µser so i am now forced to µse the micro symbol instead of the normal yoo.
esdf will always be in my heart, and my mµscle memory.

Fun fact, i have G for dropping items and still do because when i started playing, for some reason my fingers would slip and press a bit of the Q key, and dropping my weapon when fighting or really anything was annoying so i changed it to a further away key.
I swapped offhand swap with drop cuz accidentally offhanding ur weapon is better than dropping it
i dropped a juju on skyblock beause of that
I use Y for that reason.(If you say its close to chat, i use / for it)
I use normal click and I think I might switch to esdf to get rid of my mouse hotkeys so maybe I could jitter easier

almost my entire life i used wasd but im slowly transitioning to esdf cuz ik its better dont listen to the haters as long as you are enjoying the game and not breaking the rules keep using ur keybinds
here are my current keybinds (everything not listed is prob default):
shift for f5
q for drop
a for crouch
z for sprint
esdf to move
w for offhand (although i think i might find it better to use w as 7)
r for inventory
t for 7
g for 8
v for 9
personally I've been playing with rdfg for a while now and really like it
I use zasd instead of wasd bc I use to have an azerty layout which means w is placed whr z is and now I'm so used to it to go back

instead of moving wasd i just rebinded drop and tab and used Q tab z x and r

esdf would not be very comfortable for me personaly because of my ring and middle finger just always leaning to the right and being stuck to each other
My brothers w key broke so I told him he has to use esdf too lol so it's fine with me

I use esdf because I kept messing up my hand position at wasd. It didn't want to go there. It wanted to go to esdf, because that's where it normally goes. And then I ended up liking it, because of the hotkey space.

The annoying thing about changing ur hotkeys is when u shift u can’t move forward and sideways at the same time (I would know since I use WQSD)
