- An oil cooler line leak nearly ruined the engine in my wife's 2010 Lexus RX350. This is how I diagnosed and replaced an inferior part with the upgraded version.

Good job, and well done, Sir! I appreciate you showing detailed steps of your work and patiently explaining them.
I use 1/4" drive for most things. If I can't get something loose then I switch to 3/8" drive. 90% of the time you don't need anything heavier and you can get into smaller spaces. Good thing you saved it.
I’m just glad the check engine light/warnings came on for your wife. I had a 2015 explorer for work and one of those lines blew off without any warning and the vehicle almost locked up. I noticed knocking and shimmying thankfully and parked it. No check engine light or any warning lights. It was bone dry of any oil.
The car care nut youtube channel has a video about this problem.

He forgot to spray it down with PB Blaster before starting. I always spray first.
You're supposed to fill the new oil filter with oil
Some people do that but I've been doing it my way for over 30 years without any problems.
