"God didn't make me better than any other human. I just believed what He told me." -Tarajii 💥🙌🏾
I met you at Dr. Sephocle events. Great see you on here.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL GOD IS SO GOOD 👏❤💪💯
What do that mean
Yeah that hit me too!!!
This is a whole word!!!
All three did an amazing job. Fantasia and Danielle had me tearing up and cheering. Taraji was a show stopper as Suge
Shug not Suge. Definitely not Suge Knight.
Fantasia is so maternal and warm. Her presence and spirit moves me to tears.
Taraji is so enigmatic! Her energy is just so contagious, God I love this woman!
I guess I must not be infected.
I love Taraji too!! I support ALL of her projects ❤
How can you love someone who doesn’t know you 🤔
All this fake laughing with Oprah. Then turn’s around and go on a crying tour about how much Oprah paid her for the movie
They have to promote the movie besides the politics, maybe she will get a cut from the box office sales
I LOVE what Taraji said about believing what God tells you . That brought tears to my eyes❤
Fantasia is so sweet for holding Danielle’s hand and saying “it’s ok” as she started crying! We all need a friendship like Fantasia and Danielle 😩💜
That moment solidified this interview!!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Danielle has had an amazing journey this far. Im proud of her. I love how God shows up in the cast.
I loved Danielle in orange and black and now seeing her go forward in the industry is amazing …her and the other girl who played the crazy girl (don’t know her name) in orange And black seeing them in other movies. Also hats off to everyone fantasia, Taharji, in this movie and Oprah as support etc you guys are amazing…All of you rock
The tension in this room is reeking!!! They're all being professional but something is definitely a foot!
Energy does NOT lie.
Taraji looks as if to burst from emotions. The posture is real, she is raw , this is not the time for cuteness.
I been saying this since they started press for this.. something is not sitting well with our sis Taraji..
She’s hurt..pained..bothered..low
Key unhappy it seems..
What kind of cuteness?
Really?
The facial expressions tell a lot! There’s some stuff going on behind the smiles and empowerment. There was definitely some shade being thrown, and why did Oprah keep throwing her hands in TPH face? How rude!!!
@@tbam73 she want to stand on business
Taraji is always thinking about others . She is like that big sister in the community that adopts you and truly cares for you even though you are not blood related. A true sister! I love Taraji and Fantasia . They are true gems!
This!😊
She cared by sinking the movie 😅
She sunk this movie with her platform, just terrible..I'm no longer a fan
@@vonalexander2121 neither am I. She really showed her true color...and it's green
@@ddddddno24but she’s fighting for the people after her. If she can get treated bad what about the little people
I like how the ladies started the interview solemn-looking and ended with smiles. DeVon had an uplifting spirt from beginning to end. That was so nice to see. ❤
They were solemn, looks as if the sofa was to small.
I'm 15 (almost 16) and all I could say at the end of 'The Color Purple' was W.O.W.!!!! This spoke to me on so many levels. It's been a really hard year (friends left me that I thought were my ride or die) but I felt HOPE. Thank you Queens!!! You are LIGHT to me and so many who deal with things in the dark.
Watch the Original Color Purple. When you have the chance.
@@reynaldocordero4247 I have actually! I saw it for the first time when I was in 6th grade.
You will grow in a new place and discover new friends. Just keep going in Gods name I too had childhood friends who dropped me and it definitely hurt but it was for a reason down the road I was lead away. Take care
@@robynrob9471 thank you so much. It means a lot. God bless 🙏🏾
My 15yr old struggles with that too. Hard to trust anyone these days, even at my old age lol. Take your time and work on being your own best friend first and read others energy. Classmates and Aquantaces instead of "Friends"🙏💕
Fantasia is anointed, no one can tell me otherwise, the way she speaks, Lord!!!!!
These women are a BLESSING to this generation
AMEN ❤❤❤❤l Agree
This confirms what Taraji said… Oprah heard and supported these black actresses.
How?
@taunyaquick9320 I'd love to know that too!
@@taunyaquick9320How not?
@SweettoothMarie77 I'm waiting to see how too? 🤔
Now, remember she's an actress.......
I love the way DeVon asks the questions. It’s loaded with a piece of information about each individual lady and then he ties it to the question about the film. Thats more than just journalism. That’s wisdom filled. Also let’s talk about the nuggets of gems each phenomenal woman was preaching in this interview. Sheeesh Lord😭🥰🙏🏽
When I read The Color Purple in 1982, as I finished it. I turned back to the first page and read it all over again. I have never done that with any other book. And I am a full fledged bookworm. Alice Walker created a work of art like no other.
It’s watching it over and over for me. I’ve seen it so many times as if they were my first.
The book is so much better. I was about 11 or 12 when I picked it up.
I read Alice Walker's novel "The Color Purple" in 1982, and was fortunate to see a screening of the film at IU-B in 1985. Though the film was good, the novel is better because Walker openly addressed issues of Black women in an epistolary format that isn't often utilized by many novelists. The film does examine some of the passionate and violent issues pertaining to Black women; yet, it doesn't address these issues in totality. Thus, I look forward to viewing the new film version.
I read it in 1995, as a senior in HS for our "Gatsby Period Project". Then my peers thought it strange, as adults they agree the book is far better than the movie. It is worth reading and rereading.😊
Wow
Love black women. This is such an organic conversation. This vibe is undeniable.

Every woman on this platform is so deserving of ALLLL the recognition they're getting!! So proud of these women!!!
Each time I hear Oprah Winfrey speak, I imagine a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Who else cried watching this? What a great interview. Get the tissues ready for the movie!
Girl I cried
I wasn't ready for it! My God, my God! The doors of the church is now open!
🙋🏽♀️ Every time I watch interviews with them I end up feeling their joy and their journey! I found myself crying and when Taraji was talking about how we cancel people and not forgive that really hit me🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Me!!!
Thank you Ms. Alice Walker. Thank you beautiful women, you all played an important part! To God be the Glory!!!
Me, my sisters and nieces saw the movie and by the end of it, we were ALL crying. Damn you cast, damn you! Y'all were AMAZING!
Ok❤😊
Body language is telling it all.
Yep
as Oprah talks I can hear tarji's thoughts " this lying heffa just continues to lie through her teeth, " lol
YOU CAN'T EVE SPELL THE LADY NAME RIGHT, ALL YALL UP IN HERE LYING ITS A DAMN SHAME
I love to see black woman uplifting each other and supporting each other like this. We need more of it❤
Not with Oprah underpaying them…this is just promo
Fantasia ❤❤❤
Such a perfect cast! Each actress embodied their character so well, especially Fantasia.
Where is Whoopi Goldberg??? No where to be seen not at the premiere not on interviews ! It is celie’s story Whoopi should be involved some kind of way. Oprah purposely left Whoopi out of it. Oprah has completely strong armed the legacy of The color purple Sofia was not the main character. How wrong & cold to TAKE IT AND SAY SHE IS THE GODMOTHER OF THE COLOR PURPLE. Oprah don’t even understand the essence of the color purple because she didn’t play the role of celie. She didn’t not have to go deep within the bowels of the trauma that is the essence of THE COLOR PURPLE.
@@mode.or.cultureWhy should Whoopi be anywhere promoting a movie she's not in? She was an actres on the first, that's all.
@@mode.or.cultureWhoopi was included here with Oprah in the original Color Purple cast reunion that aired a couple of days ago on the OWN network. ua-cam.com/video/O7GnXG7DFRk/v-deo.htmlsi=bdeDMbGTEJa6daFV

These interviews are soul uplifting… I can’t get enough 🙏🏾✨🤍
Fantasia is such an uplifter and motivator. Her support for Danielle and Taraji...❤ . When you go through things in life, it's humbling. She beautiful.
I so feel Oprah on surrendering. I had that experience earlier this year. I feel so free and I trust God like never before. The joy that I have isn't predicated on circumstances but ny hope in God. God is real!
Taraji killed the exuberance around this beautiful body of work.
This was the best thus far of all interviews and great to see Oprah right there with the other actresses supporting them as well as the movie. Congratulations
Did I hear Oprah say she had to ask for more money? So that means the budget was not totally in her hands.
@@reccajisyes there was Tyler Perry who is also a billionaire. And the other producers black producer. And of course Oprah
@@reccajisThe 4 heads at Warner Brothers were involved. That's why they sent Oprah to ask for more money.
Freshman at Southern University in '85 when this came out. I saw it 3 times. When I saw this Christmas day,I remembered every line. The only thing changed was the musical. Great job, ladies.
Taraji’s face is speaking volumes.. pay attention
I peeped 👀 that too...
Yea l seen it too especially when they talked about the budget
I just have to say Pastor FANTASIA BARRINO, you have been ministering to me since BABY MAMA!!! Your journey is one that has inspired me and to watch such a beautiful soul continue to evolve is EVERYTHING 👌 Blessings on Blessings 🤍🤍🤍🤍
I saw Danielle in The Piano Lesson and OMG she was an excellent actor... I can't wait to see her on the big screen.❤❤❤ I am so happy for each one of these ladies and glad to celebrate what each one brings to the project.
She was great as Mahalia Jackson as well!!💕
Great interview! When the ladies clapped for Oprah, I clapped, too! Dani giving testimony to Oprah and praising her generosity was so inspiring! All the ladies dropping gems, and Taraji saying that the last scene is the first scene they filmed! When Oprah speaks (and sings) and they shake their heads in affirmation is so sweet. Thank you, Oprah, for using your power and advocating for this to be made!!
YESSSS!!!
Such a fantastic interview and interviewer. This entire The Color Purple press tour has been a worship experience
God bless all of you!!! I am so proud to be a proud black woman, whose family is from the south!! The strength that comes along with my maiden last name, and the strong women who stood and showed me how to stand strong & educate myself, makes me extra proud!! Thank you so much cast for bringing The Color Purple back to life!! Bravo!! Timeless work of art, which will never fade away!! 👏🏽👏🏽❤️❤️👏🏽👏🏽
Why did this interview just bless me. I am sitting here in tears because this interview is speaking to my soul. I saw the Color Purple on Christmas Day and I am going back to see it again.
I am so proud of these women, especially Taraji! They’ve overcome so much adversity to be where they are today.
Thank you Lord for protecting my sisters. Continue to bless them Father as only you can. 🥹💜
That tree was absolutely beautiful. It is the first thing I noticed.
What an Amazing interview…the cast is Awesome, can’t wait to see it❤❤❤this had me in tears. And, the wisdom that was being shared and the words of encouragement…Love it 🙏🏾
Listening to Taraji talk about being pregnant and having a kid in college as someone who currently has a newborn while in college is very inspiring, there have been many times where I just want to give up and quit but this is my sign from God to stay at it and see it through. Thank you for this Taraji. ❤
I love the way Taraji talks about a dream as she sits next to Oprah😌🙏🏻
I AM receiving confirmation, being healed and delivered from so much baggage just by being apart of this session . The TEARS ARE FLOWING AND I AM OVERWHELMED DUE TO THE FACT THAT CHAINS ARE BROKEN AND DOORS ARE OPENING HALLELUJAH AMEN I LOVE YOU ALL HUG'S AND KISSES 😘
AMEN!! Everyone of your testimonies & comments is bringing me to happy tears, YES to the final comments from Queen Mother Oprah!! I will be front and center at a movie theater DEC 25 in Orlando, FL.
Agreed and God bless Gigi. Every interview has made me laugh, be inspired and tear up. All hail Queen Mother Oprah! I plan on seeing an afternoon showing on Christmas Day in the Clermont area.
Me too in California!❤😊
I love this interview! I feel like I just had church. These ladies preached!!! Can’t wait to see “The Color Purple.” Again!!! ❤️💕
The way Danielle holds fantasia's hand is so beautiful ❤️
I hear you Taraji... I had a child at a young age & this resonates, You All are Phenomenal, DREAM & DREAM some more
Oprah and taraji sitting so far apart yet right next to each other 👀
God is the Alpha + Omega! Taraji said the last scene in the movie was the first scene they shot. Powerful indeed!
Love how thay all talked about our ancestors with such pride.😢
The movie was dynamically done. I chuckled, shedded a few tears, and gave the black power fist in many moments. The energy field produced by the cast with their performances is soul stirring.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Body language is so telling. I am so happy to see these beautiful black women together. 🥰
This re-imagination of The Color Purple truly is something special. I think everything surrounding it, the cast, the production, even the controversies are in Divine Order. It is all necessary for everyone to learn, heal and grow. Thanks for this interviews!
Fantasia got me up in here crying. This is so beautiful to see and hear.💜
What a classy interviewer! He was thorough with the short time he had to interview 4 stars at the same time; all while bringing depth, connection, respect and humor. Wish more interviews were like this! so enjoyable
This!
This interview felt like a warm, affirmative hug. So excited to watch the film!
What a beautiful interview with these incredibly talented and iconic women. That movie was one of the best movies I've seen in my life. It made me laugh, cry, smile, and feel all the feels. Music and dance scenes were 🔥too! Y'all gotta go see it!
I saw it on opening day and I was blown away. I loved all the women actors they were amazing.
Wow! I didn’t know Devon was such a great interviewer! All of these ladies look great (but uncomfortable). I can feel the tension through the screen. I am so happy for Dani, Fantasia & Taraji 🎉Literally some of my ALL TIME faves 💜
Agreed! LOVED!! the interview. New Subscriber. However, need to get better more comfortable seating for the guests so they don’t looked so squeezed😊
I have felt that too! The body language is obvious!!
@@dwjlyman4106yep. You can see the tension in the air around them.
Why y'all keep running with this false narrative. Once that tiktok came out about body language everyone is now an expert on body language. If there is tension in the room it's not with each other. You can tell they genuinely love each other and want the best for each other. I swear we tear each other down more than anyone else.
Truly anointed piece of art and also the ripple effect! Fourth years and still making waves! I can’t wait to see this. Knowing it will speak to my spirit like God intended! I give thanks to all the cast for taking part of something so Spiritual to speak to those of us that need this life in this time and place for our lives! I bow my head and bend my knee to all the cast and those behind the scene! Bless you all!
Watch the original Color Purple. When you have the chance.
This interview left me in tears. It was a God moment! He did it! and 'm reassured that God has big plans for me if I wait on HIM. AAAAAMENNNNNN!
I loved that Devon interviewed this cast. Great interview Man of God ❤
This is one of the most powerful interviews I’ve ever experienced.
This brings me joy.
So moved by this conversation.
After everything that has come out, I'm looking at the body language now; yes, I can definitely there was some tension between the cast & Oprah.
These are some beautiful, humble, powerful, smart women.💜💜💜💜
This isn’t an appointed time, it’s an anointed time.. Preach Winfrey!
“I’m living in God’s dream.” Oprah Winfrey wow!!!
This interview blessed my soul!!🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 You four women are phenomenal…God bless each of you ❤️❤️❤️
It's just More feminist- lgbtq programming for black folks but especially for black women.

Danielle was the stand out star on this film. Every woman did great but Danielle did her thing!!
Danielle has an award coming her way! She was outstanding!👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Mean time Taraji thinking what this money gonna look like now. 🤣🤣. "The math aint mathing"🤣🤣🤣🤣

I went to see it on Christmas Day 2023, premiere day ❤ all the older aunties in the movie theater had on their purple at the theater…..they saw it in theaters for the original movie, they looked so excited and proud looking, its culture and I was happy to see it 💜
Regarding the information about the quilts used in the movie: Alice Walker was (still is?) also a quilter (and wrote an essay about it) so I hope the ones used in the movie were preserved. As a quilter, I would love to see a display of them mounted --- maybe in the Museum of African American history in DC?
Thanks for that information I am going to look it up now👍🏿
Yesss I agree , or making the original CP house in NC a museum combining all adaptations of the book 😍
This is the most anointed interview i have ever seen!! This is the best interview!!❤❤❤
ALL OF THESE BEAUTIFUL BLACK WOMEN ARE INCREDIBLE!!! I hope this movie grosses at least $300 million worldwide!!
I saw Christmas Day. I barely could a ticket.
It is sold out in my town the whole week. No seats left.
Loved it, beautiful musical.

I think this is the BEST of all the interviews.
This was my favorite interview so far. I am so honored ro have witnessed this film.
The way they broke out singing at 16:36 is what touched me more than anything. Well done indeed 👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
This movie is so inspiring and touched my heart in so many levels. I walked away with tears. Very uplifting.❤
10:47 The book was WORTHY before the Pulitzer. It was WORTHY when the thought to write it was placed in her spirit/mind. Let’s not allow YT people or ANYONE (for that matter) to define what is WORTHY!🖤
What really blessed me is what Oprah said I surrendered it all. And what Daniella said she went for Interviews after interviews and was told no. But God remembers her and at the set time the right doors open. It really gave me new hope because in my current situation I apply for work promises are made and at the end no word or feedback if you call the people your who made these promises and even your friends if they see it's you calling the don't pick up the phone or make excuses i was busy with meetings. But all of that made me cry and at the end I told God I surrender and by doing that I became stronger. I just wanna say watching this cast and what each and everyone was saying blessed me. Their stories gave me hope and light. Now I know my redeemer Jesus lives. May this story bring healing to each and everyone, especially for this new year 2024.
Thanks DeVon for being a blessing
Amen
Something definitely happened before this interview, you can see it all in Taraji face
