    I can not be more happy Stolen Valor is a crime.
    I don't know how a person could brag about suffering terrible nightmares, long term injuries, PTSD, and other terrible long term issues real soldiers experience.
    I wouldn't want another person to experience watching their father wake himself up screaming from night terrors, reliving the horrors he had to endure, or trying to get him to recognize them as his child during a flashback.

      They're posers that should be outed and shamed but idk about it being a crime, theirs all types of shameless posers but I feel like the gov shouldn't get involved.... but then again idk cus it's the worst type of posing .... and shame alone might not stop them.... nevermind I changed my mind after reflecting a little more on it

    Stolen valor really pisses me off! I, technically, am a U.S. Navy veteran (U.S. Navy Seabees). Except for the fact that I never got the chance to fight for my country. I am only considered a veteran because I willingly joined during a time of war. I would never claim to have done something I have not, I actually wanted to go to Afghanistan but never got the chance to.

      I know you weren’t given the chance to fight for this county but I still want to thank you for your service. My step dad toured in the Middle East (I cant remember where) and Korea in the Chemical Corps, and he lost a portion of his hearing because of it. So I understand how hard serving can be, even if you’re not on the front lines. Your selflessness is shown by your actions and I hope you know we all appreciate you and your colleagues

    One woman in a town I used to live in once asked us for food outside a Safeway, so we bought her stuff for her baby, but she complained about it, so we returned it, bought her something else, but she still was not satisfied.
    We left but saw her again at a local farmers market a few months later, carrying a child that looked around 4. We thought it may have been a case of kidnapping but never called the police. I hope anyone involved turned out okay, because if that woman really was kidnapping, it may have been a different story.

      We had one here I’d always given food and drink or cigarettes out as I knew most of the homeless people in the town centre. This one was new and I asked what he wanted to eat, he told me too fuck off he wanted money and then I saw a video later that day of someone filming him walking to his car. The next time I went into town I saw him getting into his 2018 car. He was on the local news when they did a segment on beggars who were fake and he still had the nerve to try it, but people would troll him by standing next too him with scammer signs and other things it was hilarious 😂

      His father was a successful contractor he told me he offered his son a job at 20 plus dollars a hr and son told him he makes more begging. Lucky his parents kicked him out (he was mid 20s)
      Now he really was homeless

    I started speaking to a bloke begging in Truro (Cornwall, England) a few weeks ago. Gave him a can of Coke and bar of chocolate and had a chat. Within 10 minutes I had learnt that he was an alcoholic amphetamine addict, claiming benefits with a 2 bed flat a mile up the road. So yeah, fake homeless is a huge thing in the UK. There was reports of people in Wales taking a 300 mile journey from their home to London each and every day to go beg and they claimed to be making 3 - 6 hundred a day doing so. Before returning to their large detached homes with their families, whilst claiming benefits and housing support.

    It's not THAT unusual for people begging on the street to have accommodation. There was a guy like that in my town for years, but he didn't make a secret of the fact that he had somewhere to sleep at night in a local shelter. All of us who regularly passed by where he would sit knowingly and willingly paid for it with our donations. He clearly had a lot of problems, but he was perfectly harmless and just sat there and busked every day. Not exactly well, but he was making an effort.

    Quite sometime back I stopped giving cash on the street. Seeing guys begging at Pioneer Square (Portland, OR) they would disappear for 15 minutes and come back smoking weed. Especially after it became legal. They're not the only ones I've watched. It does not matter who it is (even sitting with children) I don't give. We support a couple of homeless groups here with donations to help administer "real needed assistance" to anyone who shows up for help. One of them is a woman's and children's shelter. After you buy someone something from McDonalds and they take it around the corner and try to sell it for half price, that's all she wrote. And when you offer to take them to McDonalds and get something they come up with the "oh, if you just give me the money I'll go up there later". That's when I do a smart about face and march.

    We are lacking in human decency for sure. Basic human decency means not doing or saying anything to intentionally cause unnecessary harm to some who are suffering. This is the core meaning behind history's greatest moral precepts, from the golden rule to the categorical imperative. As beings endowed with a capacity for language and reason, we are uniquely suited to the apprehension of this principle, and most people have an intuitive grasp of it. However, it can be difficult to uphold when we have been subjected to the indignity of its violation. But our own suffering is not to be used as a reason to not extend the principle of basic human decency to others--it is, in fact, a reason to uphold it. The failure to grasp this logic is key to understanding the status of basic human decency in today's and/or any society. The simple truth is that suffering is an inevitable part of life. We all enter this world screaming our little heads off and we carry that pain with us throughout our lives. Why should we bother making it any worse for each other? some have come to grasp with it while others not so much. Decency renders all things tolerable, my, how we forget that one... all the best to everyone. PEACE!😎✌️

I received 7 medal's of honour 9 Victoria Crosse's, Even my purple hearts had purple hearts. I Didn't seek any monetary funds for myself, I just needed enough to send my 18 kid's through college and university. To raise funds for my kids I've run several marathons in under 2 hours, bench pressed 4 thousand pounds, done a fun run up mount Everest dressed as an 8 foot kebab then raised the Titanic on one breath of air. But I still need to raise 9 million dollars, I went to go fund me but they said go fcuk yourself. Please show mercy to this long forgotten super hero of the world, and lash a few hundred grand each my way. It's purely for the kids I only deduct personal expenses. Thank you so much in advance.

    In my addiction, I absolutely stood on a street corner and held a cardboard sign. I could've gone home if I would be clean but since I wasn't, I lived in my car. I made ridiculous money for what it was. Location is everything. My best spot could yield an easy $100 in a matter of minutes. Sometimes from a single person.
    I've been clean and sober for over 2 years now but I absolutely know the potential money in a solid hustle.

  • @brianthomas590
    @brianthomas590 5 років тому +2

    I have considered standing on busy corners with a sign asking simply for work. I have applied for 24 general labor jobs and I don't have any felonies, I'm not a pain in the ass and am actually more of a push over that will just go along with whatever makes others happy, but it is a reality that shit just happens or doesn't happen in certain cases. I even have two years of college experience in business management at NC State but had to move home bc my dad got terminally ill and passed and I couldn't bring myself to leave my mom alone after the fact. And I know most of you are thinking that none of this should keep me from getting a job, but most companies want a college degree, someone who has done the specific kind of tasks required, or they would rather give a younger person a chance as a fresh slate that can be molded. I don't bitch when things get tedious or tough or at least not out loud like others, but I do stand by the fact that I have found that even the most seemingly simple jobs are impossible to get and it feels like I have fallen into some new type of gap a d I've tried thinking of any reason why nothing has worked out and I also here to say that it is humiliating but I've even accepted the fact that I have to get over having any dignity or a normal life according to the standards of many. I'm sure everyone is also thinking I must be lazy but even if that was the case it's not any more bc I have developed such anxiety over the situation that I am the type that can't sit still and I always want to be doing something so I avoid being seen standing around. I mean so well and I'm with a lot of the skeptics saying that there has to be some reason I can't find any work but I am willing and smart enough to change and companies just don't seem to want that, they want someone with a natural knack for a job and I don't blame them, but I Will say that I am as loyal as they come and whoever gives me a chance Will have someone they can fall back on. This doesn't exactly go along with the stolen valor theme of this video but the part where a few were panhandling around the stolen valor does remind me of my situation. I've even done the Craigslist and indeed thing and I will work for a few days and then get nothing permanent. There is obviously something wrong with me but I dont mess up stuff all the time, maybe I'm slow trying to get things perfect before I work on speed, and I don't talk or ask a ton of questions. I know how ridiculous this sounds but it can make you feel like a waste of life in a hurry when you would take the shirt off your back for anyone and nobody wants it and I promise that seems to really be my case, any feedback appreciated

    • @yeahyeah2899
      @yeahyeah2899 3 роки тому

      Depends on what type of work you're looking for. Some people hate having gone to college and then having to settle for something less. My friend had a 4 year bachelor degree at a university and almost every job for her degree she applied for said "That's great, but do you have any experience?" And of course since she just graduated college and was trying to get the job in that field she didn't. So she ended up having to get a job a factory doing line work untill she finally found a job that would hire her for her degree. What I'm saying is you might have to lower your expectations at least for a little while. You could apply for fastfood jobs or even work two of them at once. There are lots of jobs out there but some people with degrees never want to settle for less. My friend got stuck working at a job making 75 cents more than my high school drop out self lol. The pay was good through 13.25 an hour starting pay. Look for factory work, they are usually always in need of employees and best of luck to you!

    Vertigo and dizziness are actual symptoms of some diseases, but with no reason given, that doesn't make sense.
    A rare condition that *can* cause diziness, vertigo, black vision, and fainting is a chronic condition called Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (P.O.T.S) which I suffer from. Essentially, when I first stand up or remain standing for too long my body struggles to tighten the veins in the lower half of my body to retain blood flow to my head, and the loss of blood in my head causes the symptoms. It is *not fatal* and is often more annoying than harmful unless I don't take the proper steps to manage it and start fainting, which can injure my upper body when I fall down.

    Applying himself to making a living was abhorrent to him. His favorite was trying to scam the Government/Social Services out of money. When it was pointed out he could make a good living putting all that effort into just making a living, he balked at the thought.
