@coffee with two sugars please I remember it being made from wood and some steel. The Figure of 8 rollercoaster was the same too if my memory serves me right. The old gas mantles for the lighting did have a certain smell.🙂
Thanks for sharing. Always ended holidays at my grandparents in North Cornelly with a ride on the water chute in the 70s and 80s. It would scare the bjesus out of me. Remember the “clunk, clunk, clunk” as the carriage went up, raising the anticipation. Fond memories. Coney Beach fair ground never the same without it. Shame what happened.
I was one of the boys that rode on this when the accident happened. My heart is racing just watching this. Horrible place and memories which has effected my entire life since!
its a shame what happened on this ride and that it was then torn down. i can always remember this dominating the front of the fairground as a child. i dont think i ever went on it.

I used to go on this as a kid in the 1980's. My other favourite was the Santa Fe Railroad.

I can remember the accident being on the news. Mid 90's wasn't it?

the fair aint the same as before sad about that tragic accident but alot of memorys there
