I sleep with albums playing at night on Apple Music. This song woke me up and I, half awake, was fucking floored. This dude is incredible. I immediately started listening to this album and lost about an hour of sleep because I was so juiced from finding this. I’m an SNS Stan till I die
My Spotify Discover Weekly brought me here! I've been listening to this song non-stop all week. IMMA FREEEEEEAK!!! yeeeeeahhhhh

Soaring
haha freaky time signature :)
@@badmammal you're right it is! But what makes it feel more floaty and lilting than that to my ear, is that the bass, guitar & piano play in 7/8 while the drummer is in 7/4, which of course adds up to the same thing but you notice if you count the 8ths the upbeat (snare drum) hits on 5 in the first bar, then 6 in the next. So it's like the bass feels like it's counting to 7 repeatedly while the drums seem to be holding its own steady 7/4 with a 4-beat subdivision followed by a 3-beat one, making the song feel likes its anchored on the beat for one 7/8 bar then leaning on the weak 8ths for the next bar, if that makes sense?? But sure 7/4 is probably the most convenient way of notating it ;)
Ay i’m the 1,000 thumbs up.
