- Several dozen anti-racist protesters clashed with counter-demonstrators in Birmingham city centre today (Sept 2). A small group of nationalists from a group called 'Midlands Says No' had gathered in Victoria Square to protest against refugees. A ring of police was able to prevent the two opposing groups meeting. Anti-fascist protesters were carrying placards which read "Refugees are welcome here."
