Marias Pass Route Information:
Spectacular scenery and large sweeping curves through the Rocky Mountains are just some of the features of Marias Pass, available now for Train Simulator.
The 152 mile Montana route was first charted by the then principal engineer of the Great Northern Railway, John Frank Stevens, in December 1889. It proved to be an ideal route for a railroad with its wide valley and gentle gradient, meaning it would not require extensive excavation and multiple locomotives would not be required to haul freight up its incline.
The Pass reaches more than 5,200 feet (1,580 metres) at its summit and forms the southern edge of the Continental Ranges, a major grouping of the Rocky Mountains. Starting out at Shelby, the route winds up and through the flat farmland and open plains before heading into the mountain range through narrow canyons and vast pine forests alongside the Flathead River. Passing through Cut Bank and Browning, the route reaches the summit just after Marias, before descending through Essex and Columbia Falls to Whitefish.
The route is famous for its spectacular bridges, and these are accurately depicted alongside other features including mountain snow sheds, the silo 'Dalek' at Browning, Belton Lake, the concrete Penguin at Cut Bank, a large marshalling yard at Whitefish, industrial facilities throughout the route and the 13 mile branch line to Kalispell.
Also included with the route is a GE ES44 DC locomotive in BNSF heritage livery and a Burlington Northern EMD SW1500 switcher, along with new BNSF 50ft box cars and lumber cars, and several reworked freight cars in BNSF and BN livery.
Marias Pass is a stunning Montana route through some of the most picturesque mountainous settings with its unique challenges of driving long, heavy freight trains up and down the wide valleys and gentle gradients.

Such a nice route. I loved doing this in the old train simulator.
Next Time Lapse upload will be Ruhr-Sieg, however the Norfolk Southern Coal District Route will take priority if it gets released before hand.
Amazing route. Enjoyed it very much. thanks for sharing
Mavadelo Np, Cheers for the Sub =]
Nice Route :)
This full route will return for Steam as they announce?
Yes, this is the Route they are talking about!
Watching this before Marias Pass gets released worldwide so I can know how it looks.
Truly both Marias Pass and Stevens Pass are excellent routes, and among my favorite in TS20xx. I personally prefer Stevens Pass a bit more, but Maria's Pass is so iconic, and I have such nostalgia for the route I can basically recite every part from memory.
I'm so so so SO glad the rest of the world will finally get to experience some of the best routes in TS20xx!!
Yeah I actually have spent a lot of time in Stevens Pass, so may look into doing some vids on that one. Marias I can't say I have really played all that much, but will also be throwing out a few Vids as well.
Nice route beautiful and check out NERW PA division it's a very nice route run by both CSX and North Eastern and even has the famous Tropicana juice train in it. And there are some nice repaints I found in railworks America and a massive container repaint pack from a user called SNews
my fav route from Microsoft train sim. i brought for Train Simulator 2014
Nice Engineering
What's the music coming on around 29:00?
I found it! I looked for 2 hours! Its called (Thai Chi) Flowing Streams
I want this route for Run 8 Train Simulator!
18:30 I want to live there pls
You wanna live in a old Great Northern snowshed?
Whats the name of the furst song that plays in the vid?
tried searching for the song in the beginning of the video with the albums you have here but couldn't find it?
Hey Wolf Fiscal, sorry all the Songs I did for these Video's are lost in the Abyss! the Tags in the Description was UA-cams Automatic detection. Because people kept asking Songs, from a certain point in my uploads, I made sure I added the Song and a Link in the Description. Sorry I couldn't be of anymore help =[
I can't get Marias Pass nor Cajon because Steam says not available in your country (Europe)
Paolo Pellegrino Bnsf Licensing is only in the U.S.A and I know your feels bro. In my case the licensing is not fair as I'm out of the USA but there's still a BNSF line here
Me too download it from a free website try rutracker.org you can get it from there i did
@@NPTNReddek Still there is UP And NS,Csx
Abdul Rafay Yeah but I have that stuff already, it’d be a nice addition if I had BNSF stuff
Hey EmissionGaming, do you reccomend I get Marias Pass? I have been pondering it for some time now and this video is helping a lot.
CrazyPilot757 Sorry bout the late reply. Personally for me, it's not really a Route that gets my attention a great deal, not because I don't think it's well made, but I just prefer Routes with more Scenery to look at. I don't at all regret buying the Route though. If it's something you're on the fence about, maybe just add it to your Wishlist and get it on Sale. =]
holy shit this think is detailed!
Lol, you talking about the Route, or my Video? =P
the actualy game everything is this video is so accurate to what is there in real life! its crazy! everything in cfalls is there in real life.
music at the start?
Car drove into the train at the first crossing. I'd say that's pretty accurate for what happens around railroads.
Lol, just up the road from where I live, we have a Railcrossing, and instead of the Cars stopping at the line to look for Trains, they stop right ontop of the Tracks... Common sense 101 lol.
Somewhere on the BNSF a dump truck hit the end of the Leading locomotive. It split the locos in two and since it lost all its braking power it went 1500+ feet ahead of the train before it stopped. The crew was alright and the driver was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The driver admitted he looked west but not east. The crossing was unprotected and was private. Yes it is what happens.
everything about this is so freaking realistic everything show in this is actually there in cfalls all the buildings are all real! that bridge the train goes over at 16:00 is such a sketchy think to walk across atleaast a 400 foot fall down to the river with rail road ties hanging over the actual metal structure of the bridge and a short guard rail.
Yeah Dovetail Games certain know how to do a pretty good route a lot of times for sure!
how the hell do they do this the track from kalispell to mt is no longer in use and hasnt been for years. its only use is one train transporting fiber from the mill yard you drive threw in cfalls to a mill in kalispell.
@@tank2449 The main line goes via Whitefish and the Flathead Tunnel.
did you have to change the junction at Columbia manually to avoid turning left to Whitefish? I just wanted to know because I have to
Callum Jerwood Nope, each recording was Point A to B without any Manual Junction changing from what I remember.
oh, was this a scenario?
Callum Jerwood In a sense yes, I just used the Editor and placed the Trains at their starting location, and gave them a Destination. So it wasn't done in Free Roam if that's what you were thinking. =]
well i use the route in quick drive and no matter where you set your destination to be, if you drive from Kalispell and get as far as Columbia hi line, the junction always turn you left through the depot and puts you bound for Whitefish and i have to manually change that junction to be able to carry on the Shelby yard or so???
Potty this route isn’t available in Australia. Damn you BNSF.
Same in the Netherlands.
Its Removed From Steam except in US
All countries except us
same in poland
Yeah I got in at the right time before it got removed from my Country.
What song is this??
It looks really good. My problem with american routes is that they are so incredibly slow. I think it gets boring really quickly.
So what's the line speed on the route?
***** American routes are slow? They are actually good fun if your an American like me and also if you want fast get Amtrak northeast corridor New York To Philadelphia Route plenty of fast there
amtrak hartford Well, I'm swedish so I compare it to our European trains. As I see it most american freight routes have a speed from 45-60 mph. And the passengers usually max at 90 (the median speed on the NEC is also about 90 mph).
In Sweden, the absolute slowest lines are 50 mph. A normal line is usually 90-100 mph. and our freight usually drive at 86 mph.
See my point? ;)
amtrak hartford I do love the big noise american beasts, and the routes are beautiful. But for me it gets boring after about 30 min, max an hour. And the routes can take up to 4 (!) hours to drive.
I'm not ranting, it's only my opinion :)
***** I haven't played much of Marias Pass, and don't have my PC with me at the moment, so can't check, but from what I remember it's around 80 [rough guess]. I agree that the slow ones can get boring at times, and for me personally, I find my way around this by the Scenery, and I don't find Marias Pass to be very Scenic for me to get full enjoyment out of.
EmissionGaming I'll take any American route donner pass is pretty slow I've done a bunch of trips on it ad cajon pass if heading eastbound over the pass it can be a little slow NS Coal District that is pretty slow but I like it those are the slow routes that I have on my game.
What are your computer specs
what is a song at 3:40 ? thx ^^
+Ponyolo I lost all my Files awhile back, but will try find what it was again. I'm not at home and wont be for about a week, but I'll see what I can do. =]
Okay good thanx man ^^ and it's wonderfull vidéo ^^ I love it *--*
What are those weird tunnels for?
Marpoclaws If you are referring to the ones at around 18:35 then I believe they are called "Snow Sheds" which are designed for Avalanche Control for any falling Debris or Snow.
oh thank you
i can't find this route it's not in my region
Can’t find it on what?
what's some of the name's of the song.
I wouldn't be able to tell you sorry, they are just random songs I find on the net. My latest Video's [this year and last], I started adding Song Titles and Links in the Description.
ok thanks.
how bout the abandoned tunnel
Wdym
are you affiliated with the ts people ? newish user running into many glitches, just wondering if it is normal for a developing game
Hey Robert, sorry but I have nothing to do with Dovetail Games. You will be expected to find many bugs and glitches through almost all of the DLC. Some people will experience certain things, while others wont. DTG aren't exactly the best at working with the Community to sort these bugs out, however a few years ago, they did make a fair effort to work on that. I haven't played TS20xx for a long time now, nor have I followed the Forum, so I'm not exactly sure where they would stand on said matters.
The current Game Engine though, is extremely outdated, and DTG say the coding is kind of a nightmare to get workarounds for. If you are a new User, personally I would recommend waiting for their next Train Simulator they are making using the Unreal Engine [I don't think it is on the Steam Store just yet], which I believe will be released next Month? You can Google some news on it, or some BETA Video's on UA-cam. It's titled "Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul"
DLC for the current Train Sim, will still be created, but the current DLC will not be backwards compatible in the new Engine.
If you are still interested in the current Engine, I would strongly recommend posting on the Steam Forums. Last I used the Forums, the community were much more help than the Developers were, and I'm sure that's still the case.
Hope some of this info was useful for you. =]
I wish I could buy this route but licensing issues even though there's a full bnsf line where I live which isn't really fair :/ Nice Video though!
Thanks for your comment =] Yeah that does suck indeed. I don't think it has to do with certain Countries though, I think it was the whole liscense of BNSF which fell through, preventing DTG from selling any brand of the Loco itself. They did find a way around this with just having a "no brand Loco" on other DLC, so I don't know why they didn't just alter the Loco's. Unless it was also a Liscensing issue with the Route itself. Either way, it is no longer available for me here in Australia either, so guess it's good I picked it up previously =\
Oh well at least I can just watch videos and see the real thing
Hey check out rail simulator's Facebook page they posted about your UA-cam account
