2012 IC ICE COLD Start

Starting the school bus after it sat for 17 days in very cold temperatures. Don't mind the phone noises and my voice. (For all that you have asked in the comments, I do not text while I'm driving. I spaced it and forgot to shut sounds off on my phone while recording this video.)

matt Roostai not really an expert but diesel engines have a glow plug instead of a sparkplug , the purpose is to heat the engine so it could start

Most today have grid heaters. They warm the intake air. I have a 2002 Bluebird CS with a 550 Cummins ISB and this uses a grid heater and a 200 watt fuel pre-heater in the water separator. The grid heater stays on longer when it is colder. The bus has 2 12 volt 1040 cold cranking amp batteries.These are D4 batteries. It is still only 12 volts. This helps you start the bus in cold weather.

The Buzz in the beginning was the Hydraulic Brakes working pressure not the Heater or Glow Plugs

jerry sylvester I see. I didn't know this because our 2008's were ordered before the updated DT, so we had the older style gauges. We also didn't order 2009's but did order 2010's a year later, so I wasn't really up to par as to what year the updates were received, lol.

Brayden Serna Us too. We have 1 2008 IC CE (Bus 33) with the DT466 that was ordered first 1/2 of 2008. I'd just been on some of the new 2008's when they came out. And then 2010 had new EPA stuff too... then 2011 EPA (We got some new buses this year... Updated mirror styling's and whatnot) and then 2012 EPA... The second half of our collection... I'm not sure if they released anything for 2015 but all of our new buses came with full LED, tinted windows (which our old 2010's had but wore off) and Hydraulic Brakes... Guessing LED is standard now? the *third* half of our collection lol and in April 2 2016 models.... 34 and 73. with CHROME, baby!
