Rutendo, please reflect on the fact that Vusi actually included the phrase ‘if the apartheid govt wanted to’ … and I agree with him… which translate to the essence of the presence of absence of will power. well said, my friend. Entertainment is a weapon of psychological warfare against young African youths. Someone has also observed that it is also the case with young black women who are constantly being bombarded with beauty education and nothing else. It has actually been said that statistics show that most black women spend their time looking at beauty content than educational content online. Really sad!

I appreciate what Rutendo says....that as Africans we must learn to differ in opinion without making enemies of each other. I feel Rutendo misrepresents what Vusi Thembekwayo was saying and I don't want to believe he doesn't see what the guy meant because it's elementary. But for still being able to see him as a brother is excellent.
On the issue of "Gold Mafia" I am personally suspicious of the Al Jazeera motive and their sensational approach. Obviously the decision by the Zimbabwe Reserve Bank to issue gold coins as a storage of wealth wasn't well received in the west. Africans must be careful to avoid attempts to rile them. Yes anyone who sought to self enrich is a traitor to the African agenda and needs to be addressed. But don't throw the water and the baby. Zimbabwe is on to something good and don't let descendents of Cecil Rhodes derail Zimbabwe

But myself im actually perplexed on how thz westerns managed to do that. They were our colonisers and they did commit many atrocities upon our people. However, all of a sudden they ar literally a darling of th majority of Africans, lecturing us on democracy and human rights . Whilst they continue to benefit from th fruits of their past unjust as well as continuing to strategies on how to open new avenues of milking African resources. Mmmm thatz Y Joshua Marara Maponga always says "the mind of a colonised person is pathetic" in many of his interviews. The African brother is so very correct. When I listen to him, I hear many similarities to those of us in the Diaspora. Pan-Africanism should be expanded to include all Africans everywhere. His experience in Europe tells us that we all are seen as the Black race people. This is actually true and we should function as one people. Uniting the cause for justice and fighting to take back our lands, our heritage and identity is the most pressing issue of the times. Our minds must first be liberated and rid of Eurocentric ways. We must find our way back to being Africans.

"Efficiency" has to do with productivity. Productivity has to do with skills. Skills has to do with producing results, whether the act is moral or immoral, it is immaterial. You are either "Effecient" or "Inefficient" in doing the act, it has nothing to do with the act being good or bad.
Bank robbers can be "Effecient" in committing an immoral act to get the desired results, and trust me it's been happening for decades on a daily basis, they are "Efficient", and they are producing desired results.
Rutendo you are correct, we will make reference to what is readily available to compare with.
I live in a neighborhood where there are "RDP" houses and schools that were built for poor white people and "RDP" houses and schools that are built by the current ruling party, and sadly the former supercedes the latter, it is an undeniable fact that is before our eyes.
So, was the former ruling party good? not at all, they were evil. Were they "Effecient"? Yes, absolutely.
Then the golden question becomes: besides the evil that the former government was doing, is there anything we can learn and employ today? Yes, there is, "Efficiency".
Efficiency and Productivity have nothing to do with being good or bad and I think Rutendo you misunderstood the whole point.
One of the former S.A. presidents once said, the MK and people who were in the struggle to liberate us, where trained on how to topple the government, but they were never trained on how to build a successful state, and that is evident today.

    • @Lungelo_K_Moshoela
      @Lungelo_K_Moshoela Рік тому

A counter argument can be raised contrary to that. Was the Nazi Germans "efficient" or the European Americans at doing what they did to Jews, Africans and Native Americans and can that efficiency be devoid of the lives, families and culture that were lost in this act. The opportunity cost in that is too much.

Zimbabwe's failure to prosper is NOT entirely due to sanctions Rutendo as you always preach or try hard to make everyone believe your logic. I agree sanctions are a hinderance in economic prosperity of any country. Rutendo need to accept and address Zimbabwe's own problems which are perpetrated by our own people and Leaders within our country.
Land redistribution was long overdue, but the system that Mugabe used was not purely to enrich and empower the blacks and prosper the country. He was facing a backlash from the War Vets who felt they had been abandoned for far too long while Mugabe and his wife were living a lavish life. This is why the land distribution was so abrupt and some of the beneficiaries of the land had no clue at all on how to make the land productive.
Corruption is the order of the day in Zim , mineral resources are stolen and greedy politicians are enriching themselves while roads, hospitals and infracture is so dilapidated. The starting point to turn the country around is to address those things, corruption is a cancer eroding Zimbabwe from inside. We can go around making eloquent speeches and reciting all the histories of other nations, colonialism , apartheid etc but failure to acknowledge the sources of problems in Zimbabwe is a joke.

The blacks have not used the land as productively as the white farmers before them But that is part of growing and learning. Zimbabwe was able to produce the most crop of wheat since independence in 1980, to avoid any imports, this past winter. Growth and Progress!!

Two things can be true at the same time. It's not a matter of either or, or is it black and white. We have external and internal problems in Zimbabwe. Yes, there is corruption in Zimbabwe, even the corrupt people in the Government acknowledge that (lol 😂). However, the external sanctions are not making it easy as well.

@Clem if a bus driver has a catastrophic accident every time he avoids pot holes on the road should he keep driving the bus or should we get a bus driver who can avoid the pot holes with out causing an accident?

@@drew5834 Great analogy by the way,, 😂. You are right, understand that my comment was not to say that you are wrong. All I am saying is that, yes the bus driver should be changed. However, we should be careful of how we do it, how the bus driver was trained, and what kind of bus is he driving. I don't agree with everything Rutendo says, but some of the things he says make a lot of sense. That's why I said things are not always black and white, and two dichotomies can be true at the same time.

Hah Rutendo has good ideas but lies a lot to push an agenda. On Mugabe and Nyerere he's out of line. Mugabe was a British project, the British made sure he ruled Zimbabwe and not Nkomo because Nkomo was Soviet backed, remember it was during the Cold War. He says Mugabe didnt take Nyerere's advice and yet it took him 2 decades to do the fast track Land reform,

I think we my need to keep our conversations to things that we understand Rutendo. I doubt you have valid basis to say Mwalimo Nyerere meant Mugabe was to keep white supremacy in place. I am struggling to comphrend your logic that by saying " keep the Jewel " as implying your assumption. Zimbabwe was and is still a Jewel which needs to be managed with wisdom. Great stuff you are doing, however, let's not present opinions as facts

Its undeniable. The apartheid govt built world class universities, schools, airlines and all forms of infrastructure. It wasn't fairly distributed and they made no secret of that. 30 years of ANC rule has seen the government break a lot more than it has built.
