In this part of the 1945 Willy's MB restoration series we're ready to assemble the fuel system.
Fuel Tank, Fuel Pump, Fuel lines, it all gets put together and installed.
I rebuilt the fuel pump 8 years ago and it was completely restored at that time. It is a CJ-2A pump, as the entire engine is a CJ replacement engine.
The fuel tank is an Omix-Ada replacement and I can't recommend it at all. That tank fought me the entire time, incorrectly sized fuel sender hole, incorrectly sized for the body, and the fuel line fitting barely cleared the body cut out. I would have given up on it if it weren't so expensive and already purchased years ago.
Fuel lines are for a late built 1945 Willys MB without the firewall fuel strainer. The were purchased from Ron Fitzpatrick Jeep Parts and are very high quality.
The only filtration the jeep will have is the brass screen in the fuel pump.

When I changed the fuel gauge in the dash. I put a new sending unit in also. The gauge will go to full and stay there. But once it starts going down the needle will shake like crazy. And the glass will fog over. 46 CJ2A any suggestions.

I'm sorry, I don't know how to help with that. It certainly sounds like one of the components is faulty

@@fordtechchris yes I agree gauge or sending unit. Maybe just a simple ground. Somewhere between the front bumper and the rear trailer hitch. Just empty every pocket.😁
