I knew Eric's Mom. She was the most Amazing person. She was talented and sharp and wicked funny. She loved him more than life. She was so worried when he went off into the WILD not knowing if he was making a wise choice but backed him 1000%. She died with cancer before he made it BIG but was on the way. She would be beside herself seeing this and seeing him happy and doing what he was determined to do. I'm proud for him.
I still remember when Rowlf made that sound on Muppet Treasure Island, I was ten and it made me so happy because even though he didn't really speak, in my mind he was still there, he was still part of The Muppets. I also remember the first time i heard Eric Jacobson perform Miss Piggy which was via a video link she appeared through at Muppet Fest and i didn't even realize that was not Frank Oz until i found out afterwards.
Yeah. That’s Eric for you. He’s quite versatile at sounding similar to Frank, hence why I’d imagine that was the reason Frank was like “I’m getting too old to keep doing this. I need you to take over my characters.” That’s how I’d imagine their conversation went before he retired from playing Animal, Sam Eagle, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, and Marvin Suggs.
Thank you guys so much for putting these great video podcasts together. I'm so happy I randomly had these recommended to me on UA-cam. It's really fantastic to see the people behind (under) The Muppets talking about their job / characters in a very real casual format. I of course did not know Jim Henson, but based on everything I've watched / heard about the man I think he would love what you guys are doing with this. Bringing all of us closer to these characters and performers. Wish ya all the luck and success so we can keep getting more of these! :D

I say bravo to Eric.I have always been very impressed with his versions of Miss Piggy Grover and Burt.
