For the book/parasite interaction, if you have the parasite to the right of the book then it won't kill the book. This is because the parasite only affects summons to the right of it. Posting at the 59:00 minute mark
34:00 If you defeat a Boss without taking HP damage during the fight, a Red Relic Room will spawn. Shields make this much easier. 40:35 Now imagine if those Thunderstorms were stacking Venom every time they hit. 😈

About the secret boss room, from what I've seen of other videos it ONLY appears if you beat the final boss of a zone without taking any HP damage (So shields can ablate without counting, I believe).
@@technogoon_261 If you kill the zone final boss, not the midboss, without taking any HP damage a side-room will open when the reward chest appears. The room will offer three Relics that cost Max HP to purchase, but offer effects such as 'infinite' keys, and other fun effects. Just... they cost anywhere from 30-99 max HP. So pricey.
@@brandonchildress4031 scarlet room? What im talking about is the producer bosses, after some research there are 5 dog/producer bosses. Im currently trying to beat them, they have 1b or 99hp i think, its hard to read without the commas XD
james is partly right about the side room in the boss rooms, they only show up if you take no dmg from the boss and theres a relic that changes that into there will always be one
I've seen people also say that poison damage on its own supposedly just doesn't affect whether you get a red room? The way I've seen the mechanic itself explained is it looks at your health (and only your actual hp) when you enter the boss room and checks if it's lower than that when you beat the boss, though...
Unless it was changed from the beta version, the cool thing about the Head of Cthulhu, is that if you cast it and then put the wand it is on away, it remains. It also remains between rooms. So if you get it and have an empty wand, just summon it and let it live on that back up wand forever.
Even better, you can remove it from the wand entirely and it still remains summoned. So if you get a good enough set up that it basically never dies, you can just cast it once and then set the wand up for something else
Remember sometimes it's effective to have a spell boost not affect all spells on the wand, for example you could have parasite on the right side of the book so that the book doesn't die, but the pops being summoned by the books do.
Man i hope this game ends up like TBoI and gets a lot of extra content later because it's really fun just to mess around with spell combinations like one of my favorites i just call "Hammer storm" that sh*t with the right wand (with tons of slots like the cannon wand) can melt even bosses, or "True meteor shower".
48:20 I believe what happened here is that Track and AutoNav are mutually exclusive in that they override each other, with the one farther to the right (closer to the affected spell) taking priority. So Track gave them some actual movespeed and its duration bonus, but AutoNav overrode its cursor-homing function.
Not technically, AutoNav limits how quickly the spell can turn, whereas Track lets the spell move at any time. So AutoNav alone is a wide turn to target enemies which is why it didn't move when there were no enemies. Track alone is quick turns to target your cursor, which is why the storms moved really quickly when paired with the shot speed. So putting them together means it doesn't need enemies to move, but it still has a limited turn radius, which is why it looked like it just expanded. With enough room, they would have EVENTUALLY curved into the cursor. Basically, using them on the same wand is a flat upgrade to AutoNav but a STARK downgrade to Track. AutoNav similarly limits spells that already have autotargeting, like Butterflies.

The Hand of Cthulu (tentacle summon) are REALLY good because they don't have a limit. So if you get one to summon another every time it attacks, they grow REALLY fast. And they can attack anywhere without moving, so if you can summon them in a safe spot, they'll last their whole duration.
The side rooms on bosses only appear if you take no HEALTH damage. You can absolutely take shield damage and temp shield damage. It makes shield incredibly valuable. Treant Shoulder guards are one of my favorite relics for this, and if you get Treant Circlet and Lucky Clover you can basically become invincible because your shields are constantly coming back, your temp shield absorbs damage and refreshes every room, and you dodge a portion of damage outright. It makes you INCREDIBLY tanky. By far the best relic in the game for me tho is the Soulbone Mantle you can get from boss rooms. Take it every time. It gives you real shields, not temp shields, for every 3 enemies killed. It becomes astronomically good later on when 65% of enemies are just clumps of little guys.
Poison on mass lightning field is pretty good at mob clearing. Make a lightning field spell that cost as least as you can with the batteries, give it tracking and move speed and it CHEWS through bosses too.
Just imagine when more spell possibilities are unlocked. I have one in particular that makes you invincible while casting just long enough to harry potter aoe the map. good fun
Hand of Cthluhu has one of the highest DPS of all the summons. They hit hard and fast. They may not look like they are doing a lot, but they are powerful. Also Autonomous Grimoir into another one into a different spell is super powerful.
15:17 for future reference I’m not sure the navigate is good for the butterflies since they track already amd at the speed they move more tracking will not help them. Putting it on the pops makes there bubbles homming which while not too great for slow moving targets, since they are accurate against them, will be good for faster moving targets.
When you guys unlock the spirit build its gonna be insane. Also, close the spellbag if you want to quit dropping stuff on accident. I think no-hitting a boss might be guaranteed to give you a scarlet room, but don't quote me on that.
"money can't buy happiness" is true; however, it is quite good at preventing unhappiness as a result of stressors due to being poor. "more money, more problems" is more a commentary about the individual's ability to handle wealth. ie - if your ability to manage money is based on being poor, getting more money just means you're using the same (bad) money management skills, and all of your problems will just be exaggerated. In contrast, if you have good middle-class money management skills, then problems like "not being able to pay rent" do get resolved. However, after a point the comment becomes true again; for someone in the middle class, gaining (for example) an extra 50k a year solves problems, but gaining an extra 200k a year does bring more problems, as that's probably the limit of middle-class money management. And if you've got upper-class money management skills, then it's difficult to really hit the limit on that, although there is stuff like "people will kidnap you" and "you're now wealthy enough to engage with governments on the international level" - which is a SEPARATE money management skillset.
would it have been a bad call to put poison on the main wand? considering how many times it was hitting it would have loaded on the stacks, at least that's my thinking.
Press Shift and Hover over spells to Put them in or Out of the selected wand - for the Love of Leeroy Jenkins - Charge Up the pure Thunderstrom, ALSO why Parasite for the books instead of right Side only for Pops? PS: hunters Talisman shrinks the Screen 😑 Bonus: poison or fire on Thunderstrom 👍👍
Sadly all 3 Sun and Moon starters are meh for me, I like Poplio and Brionne but Primarina isn't great and made me dislike the whole line :( But again most of the starter Pokés I feel I do prefer the first and 2nd forms more, like with the Oshawott line, only if we had ways to keep Pokés in non-evolved forms and still be strong...
Excuse me? Primarina wasn’t that great!?! Primarina was the best starter of any generation. The fairy typing left for a large amount of strength and the fact it could learn psychic made it absurdly good even against poison types due to its special attack being incredible. Think you are safe if she only has normal moves, think again, hyper-voice is stab with her liquid voice, only steel types are safe from her. And this on top of the fact that she is gorgeous. If you want to talk about not great water starters intelleon fits that bill.
I know how much you like your cute ones, so the evolved forms lose points in your book. There's a world where you could use a middle evolution with the item Eviolite, but it's questionable how helpful that is, and most starters wait till their third stage to gain their second typing, which is often where a lot of power comes from.

Are we not technically watching "Historic Lee"? He's not making the video while we're watching it?! 🤯🤣

I have one that could create a homming railgun provided he is ok with charging up a bit
It is good to always remember that are you are immune to poison if you flying.

real shit tho, love your videos very fun to watch you pull off crazy things
Jeez... a lightning Magicraft build and a lightning Shooper Nova build... Did Scott mind control you?

Orbit has better duration time than extend duration (ironically) and can add speed to it.

No hitting is the only way to get the scarlet room. BUT in the 2 higher difficulties, you have a chance to get legendary relics in relic rooms

Lee, you really need to rethink your summoning methods. Auto Grimoire can cast spells other than summons.
I'm helping :)
For the Algorithm!!!
48:15 Why no poison on the thunderstorms? They do a lot of damage instances don't they? James its YOUR job to notice these things.
Butterflys are auto targeting, better put targeting on the pop
Also try circle+timedurationenhance+butterfly+castonflight(or duet)+Tentacles(the only summon that doesn't have a x number limit)
If you want to chase enemies with AoE spells you need a accelerator+targeting
Siderooms show up on bosses IF you don't take damage, but never on Elites (even if you have the on every bossroom Artefakt)
and parasite after the book, that way they survive to cast as many pops as possible…
unless you have the summon heal up too
omg. it pained me so much watching you not put the poison on the lightning. that would've done sooooo much damage
My work here is done.
I’m so mad they got rid of that volley
You can get up to crazy shenanigans with Volley. Like zero cost spells
