As for the Confirmation of Jackson, what no one seems to have caught, is that in trying to duck the request that she define a woman, she actually did just that when she said that she could not define what a woman is because she's not a biologist. By saying that a biologist is needed to define what a woman is, she has admitted that being a woman is a matter of biology and not the mind, or just "feelings", or she would have said; "I can't. I'm not a psychologist." :-)
Wonderful discourse! Thank you, First Things! As a hearing impaired (mostly deaf) person I rely heavily on Closed Captioning & I am very grateful for that feature in this production. My plea to all who produce film/videos: please decrease the volume of your BACKGROUND music! It's called "background" music for a reason! Nevertheless this is a wonderful discussion!
This was fantastic. One note of the production of the video. Constant music throughout isn't the best choice. If you ended the music after about 5 mins then brought it back during the closing remarks I thing it would create a good book ending feature. Or change the music throughout to match the tone of the section. Just a few thoughts. Loved the content.
Excellent production if for one otherwise annoying thing - the music playing throughout at times interferes with the Dr. Trueman's voice. At times it was difficult to understand the verbiage and i suggest doing away with the background music altogether - or at the very least lowering the volume to more of a whisper.
Thank you Dr. Trueman. This also reminds me of an illustration made by Francis Schaeffer. An airplane is able to fly because it's design conforms to the law of aerodynamics. In the same manner, a human is able to flourish when they conform to the law of creation. If you deny the law of aerodynamics an airplane will fall out of the sky. In the same manner, a human who denies the law of creation will not flourish but perish.
The First Things is have a great work for the ortodoxy christianity - in reality, is the unique true christianity. From Brazil, congratulations, my brothers! And Carl Trueman, you really is a undaunted theologian that criticize that secular degenerate moral! Ps.: I'm really sad through the exit (I dont' know if I express my english well, because I learn to write english) of the great christian theologian David Bentley Hart. I really appreciate if he return to First Things!
Wonderful stuff as always… BUT to whichever “school of video production” is so married to looping, annoyingly short background music clips… PLEASE JUST STOP IT!!!
Please cease and desist with background music in these kinds of teaching video/essays. It works for a 30 second motivational video or intro, after that it d-i-s-t-r-a-c-t-s from the presentation.
Feelings are now the primary focus, which means the concept of subjective truth, which leads to anarchy. Gee, I wonder who lead that charge? You won't like the answer, but it's obvious once you take the Red Pill. Thanks for the video. I enjoyed watching it. I do agree partially with someone else's comment about the music. I disagree that you should remove it. But I do think it is too loud.
Superior content, as usual, from Dr. Trueman. The music, however, is unnecessary, distracting, and downright annoying. Do you not trust your viewers and listeners to pay attention for a little while? Please stop insulting us. A short musical intro and outro would be OK. Otherwise, lose the music, please.

Completely agree...I found the music very wearisome by about 10 minutes in and had to stop (to write this comment).
Great video thanks. To summarize your last point in a quote I heard from George Grant - "Lay foundations for buildings you will never see built."
Great essay.
The only thing I have a hard time believing is that Trueman agreed to the fatuous background music.

THANK YOU, TRUTH MATTERS!
Fascinating stuff
Excellent!

(".... Like I have done") 😉
Side shots of speaker are dumb. They break the intimacy of the speaker with the viewer.
Incredible!
The music was very distracting...I would say drop it.
Love CT - hate the background music. It is like hanging an air freshener in a brand new car.

Sounds like we are in the Beginning of Sorrows.
Somehow Trueman looks exactly like I expected him to
