I’ve become a Johnny Knoxville appreciator. Ironically, he seems like such a well behaved, polite, safety-conscious person when he’s not trying to kill himself on camera.
The world went from zero Jackass reactions to a bunch of them popping up within a couple of months. I hope you guys keep rolling through them because they're all great!

It mostly is a UA-cam numbers thing. You do whats popular at the time to get the most views / money. And often times people will be more likely to watch the same movie done be different people because they are curious to see the different reactions. All part of playing the YT algorithm game.

5:21 Johnny and Bam explained in the director's commentary that the owner of this golf course was selling the land so they allowed the Jackass crew to basically trash it beforehand. They also said in the commentary that there was a brewery directly across the road which is why they're holding big jugs of beer in a few cuts - and presumably why they had such a massive crash at the end.
One of my all time favourite movie franchises. As a lot of commenters will tell you, one of the pandas was Brad Pitt cos he was such a huge fan of the TV show. Gotta love that dude.
I recall an episode of the show where Brad Pitt was walking around town and stopped a movie theater and was in line. The van rolled up, the Night Monkeys piled out, kidnapped Brad Pitt and took off again. People in the line were calling it in.
My favorite line out of the entire movie is Knoxville saying, "yeah, I hit a dog," to explain the wrecked car. Idk why but that makes me laugh every single time.
Two classic things about Bam's firecracker prank: 1.his stupid fucking hat haha 2. The fact that when they go off in the bedroom, Phil's first reaction is to shield April. What a guy.
Shout out to the late Ryan Dunn. The butt xray is wildly considerd the bit that pushed every other Jackass film in the minds of the crew. My absolute favorite member because I can relate to him. Absolutely no coordination yet down to do anything to get a laugh. My concussion and separated shoulder proves that.
Knowing that Steve-O is sober and happy now makes watching this movie so much easier cause he has said that he doesn't remember almost anything from this movie or the TV show. When they started talking about doing a second movie he went to rehab and got out right before they started filming
Also arguably the most successful movie of all time. The "actors" were paid peanuts and the cost of making the film was literally a few people holding cameras, now compare that to the money this film made.
The Jackass series will always be a comfort watch for me when I'm feeling low or need cheering up. They always bring me back to my childhood and watching them for the first time. Would definitely love to see your guys reaction to the rest, especially to the .5's. I know you mentioned you've seen Forever already but i was curious would you guys watch it again for the channel? The third one is my personal favourite and i would have gave an arm and a leg to see it in 3D as intended (alas I was only 12)
I was also 12 or maybe 13 when 3D came out and my parents watched it with me in the theater. I feel that way about the first two movies though. Really wish I was old enough to had seen them in theaters with everyone. Jackass definitely feels like a shared experience to me. Absolute comfort watch
12:27 I know it’s one of the quickest scenes in the movie, but the part when dude tries to surf in that puddle and gets hit with the shopping cart is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen!!! I laughed so hard i cried!!! 😭😂🤣
Whenever the people are unblurred in the movie, I think the basic implication is that they had a sense of humor about it when the prank was confessed because clearly they signed a release allowing their image to be shown in the film. If they were blurred, they must have declined. Also, something like the golf course they destroy, I assume that was a golf course that was closed and/or scheduled to be demolished. The second jackass is definitely the peak but I wonder if Simone could get through it stomach intact. I think she'd like Bad Grandpa, though. Jonze himself came up through skate culture, in addition to music videos, so that's the big connection between him and the jackass crew. I liked movies as a teenager but my real introduction to the idea of filmmaking as art was the Palm Pictures Director's Series. The first three were released in the early 2000s and I watched the The Work of Director Spike Jonze and The Work of Director Michel Gondry all the time (the third, The Work of Director Chris Cunningham, was also good but not as much of a personal favorite). On the Jonze disc, you can definitely see skate stuff in there around the edges in a bunch of the videos. Frankly, it would be a pretty cool Patreon Exclusive to see you watch and react to a bunch of Jonze and Gondry's music videos, as they're really cool. Jonze is probably most famous for Fatboy Slim's "Weapon of Choice" video and The Beastie Boys' "Sabotage," but there are some other hidden gems in there like "Drop" by The Pharcyde, "It's Oh So Quiet" by Bjork, "Wax" by California, "Elektrobank" by The Chemical Brothers, and "Da Funk" by Daft Punk. Gondry's videos are even more creative. He did the famous LEGO video for The White Stripes' "Fell in Love With a Girl," but there are so many great videos in his catalog, even beyond what's on the Director's Label DVD -- just to name a couple of favorites, there's "Hyperballad" by Bjork, "Let Forever Be" by The Chemical Brothers, "Lucas With the Lid Off" by Lucas, and "Come Into My World" by Kylie Minogue. He also did Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which I definitely hope you watch on your Jim Carrey journey.
I believe you can be sued for profiting off another person's image without their permission, so I'm pretty sure that any time you see a person's face in this movie, it's because they agreed to appear in the film.
@CopiousDoinksLLC not if they don't have a reasonable expectation of privacy. So if they are in public they are fair game. Blurring them would just be a courtesy

That x-ray bit with Ryan had me rolling. I've worked in the healthcare industry for 26 years and get to hear all the fun stories about people coming into the ER with "objects inserted" (you get it). Minor detail about the initial Jackass pitch, which is that Tremaine and Knoxville and that crew worked for a west coast skateboarding magazine called Big Brother that also did transgressive articles and videos. It was Knoxviller's self defense stunt that was the initial pitch for the show. They then brought in CKY and other stunt performers like Steve-O during the casting process.

I mean, before anything Spike Jonze was one of the greatest skateboarding video directors. He also directed some of the best music videos of the 90’s. So, it’s not a big surprise he did this, he just stayed true.

The nurse looking at the x-ray is legendary 😂
i love it the rental car scene knoxville say “well i brought it back with a full tank of gas” guys like “ thats the least of our worries” 😂
I managed a bowling alley years back. Don't run or slide into the pins unless you are positive that the machine is completely off. If that deck comes down on you, you will not walk away. I worked there when this movie came out and had to stop many people from seriously hurting themselves.
I mean, before anything Spike Jonze was one of the greatest skateboarding video directors. He also directed some of the best music videos of the 90’s. So, it’s not a big surprise he did this, he just stayed true.
My fave from the old Jackass show was when they'd strap a fake baby on the back of a bike and wreck hard in front of people
Jackass is basically the Three Stooges of our time. Just dumb fun with some danger and violence mixed in. Not malicious violence, mind. Good-natured violence between a group of buddies who don't take things so seriously.
"Is Butterbean ok" is the best line
Me and my friends say that every time we see someone knocked out or taking a hard hit
"Damn I hope butterbean is ok"
"But I returned it with a full tank of gas!"
I remember Steveo saying the worst thing he did was jumping into that stream with the dead cat. I agreed.
Didn't he get some kind of crazy infection from that?
@@antwhite1987 Don't remember.
Few months ago Steve-O did an interview with Dr. Mike.
It's absolutely INSANE what he put himself through. I'm amazed he's still breathing.
Have you seen him on hot ones, this dude is still hardcore
@@Panurus_biarmicus I'll have to check that one out, thanks!
A friend of mine is a nurse and she sent me a pic of an x-ray of a guy who managed to get a scented candle in a glass jar up there. you guys have Yankee Candles up north? He claimed he 'slipped and sat on it' She was like sure buddy, time to prep for surgery
This is a series of best friends acting like idiots and it is HILARIOUS!!! You'll have so much fun with all the movies! So many laughs and cringes!
Don't forget my favorite Jackass spinoff Viva La Bam. And Wild Boyz was also great.
I'm probably late, but it's actually the Psycho music at 9:20
