@@merlinfps how many hours do u have on genji, also make sure u warm up in practice range before you go into comp. and make sure u learn when to engage and stuff, u can get away with a lot more positional mistakes in silver that ull get punished for when u climb
@@merlinfps try analyzing your own gameplay or send in some gameplay to jayne/stylosa - also playing genji on anything under 60 fps is a major competitive disadvantage. you should be able to consistently hit at least 2 out of 3 shurikens on squishies and all shurikens on tanks for left clicking. and for blades, don't try to pull any fancy stuff u see top500 genjis do, just get the animation cancels down and try to get at least 2 or 3 people for every blade. use dash sparingly and always manage your cooldowns so you have dash to escape if needed.

Here is some advice with climbing with any hero: I was originally diamond when I started to pick up doomfist. I am now a GM doomfist main. I think the thing that helped me reach high masters was watching other people play doomfist. I originally was watching Chipsa just in homeroom for like 15 min a day, no more (I no longer like Chipsa, Brandito all the way) but that's all it took. I think I only watched him for a couple weeks and improved very much. Also knowing most of the rollouts and actually practicing them in a custom game helped a ton. Just my experience with climbing and getting better at my hero.
sty, im sorry, but you dont engage a genji as doom. genji has better mobility another thing. we arent "lucky" to get out if we use punch to get a better position. punch is the shortest cooldown you have. it will be back when you are done with your combo. you just have to survive 1 sec. Watch Agilities, he does it all the time. I know he is a pro, but if you cant survive 1 sec then you probably shouldnt have engaged in the first place
I mean, it's true, but it ranges closer to 1-2 depending on the height. All good if your Ana can heal you and whatnot, but a Roadhog or anyone with CC/Stuns can very easily get you focused down. It only really works semi-reliably if you (1) are at a level when people don't know to focus fire, or (2) are literally one of the better Doomfist players in the world. So while it's not crazy and I agree Sty shouldn't shade it quite so much, it's a REALLY risky play that requires a lot of skill and planning.
The point of playing better is playing SAFE If you have a combo that kills people and gets you out 1 second faster than another combo that takes an extra second, you use the one that gets you out faster. One second to wait on a cool down also applies to the enemy "It'll be fine i just have to survive for an extra second and-hey that McCree is walking towards me.....is his flash off-" bam. Dead. When you take risks you are gambling with more than just that life. You're tossing your SR into the pot along with your TEAMS SR becaue you risk getting picked, which means you risk getting your team into a 6v5. Which means you risk losing that fight. Which means you risk losing that point, which means you risk getting snowballed. And before you know it you've lost and that will 100% be your own fault. Most pros aren't pros because of their aim or whatnot it's because they know how to play safe and they do that so the enemy can't punish you so much. All players should learn the same to improve
Are you serious? This isn't toxic coaching mate, you are supposed to help players, not to call them trash in the thumbnail. Also, please remember that the ranks at which you are coaching. It doesn't help to yell "Why [insert hero] is there/ Why is [insert hero] doing that." You're coaching a low silver player, tell them about positioning and map control, be constructive.
Pharah can be insanely good at those lower ranks because simply, people can't aim. I mean holy hell, it seems like the D.Va had the right idea to charge the Pharah but just had abysmal aim with the rockets and looked the entire wrong way. The Pharah was alot better, but with this person saying they've been playing Pharah since at least Season 3 then there are some big mistakes this person didn't show in the video.

I find these videos frustrating. The fact that sty is supposed to be helping to coach these people to better their plays. Instead seems to takes the piss out of the player who is literally supplying his channel with content. I feel when sty takes these videos seriously hes one of the best. But mocking a player is not great.

Moved from ps4 to Pc like a year ago, thought I could be a god with Hanzo, was placed in bronze. I started playing Winston or Main tank in general and made from 1367 to 2455 in 1 season with a 76% win rate... I dont know how people stay stuck in Bronze/Silver/Gold....
I guess that having played the game on PS4 before would give you a game sense advantage on the bronze players you were with, even though your hanzo mechanical skill was equal to them. I'd guess you were successful as Winston as he is much more focussed on game awareness than mechanical skill
To be fair, I feel some of it is just the climb. I played 200 games last season an barely made it to Gold. On my alt Im already being paired with plats. I feel the longer you fuck around in a rank the more of a grind it is to get out, even if your skills did maybe improve

I experience exactly this in every single one of my games. I'm stuck on as solo tank or heals and there's 4 dps on my team (0 of them are hit scan). The enemy team has a pharrah and she WRECKS EVERYONE for the entire game. Nobody....and I mean nobody know how to "counter" pharrah in these ranks. It's a free win for the pharrah team every single time.

I quit OW a long time ago, but your tips and tricks helped get out of silver and into high plat. You made me flex. Whenever I was in a situation where I had to make good plays every time I remember your tips. And when I reached gold I found Rien really OP so I started watching your videos for tips as well. I carried games, I carried my friends to plat (I AM NOT FUCKING HAPPY ABOUT THAT). When I reached mid plat I became a GENGU main and already new everything about Genji. The only time I'd try to learn something is either from random Genji mains or Pros.
For doomfist you dont need your 2 abilities to kill someone you can manage to kill someone with seismic slam using all your shotgun shots and a punch to finish them plus you get a free uppercut to kill someone else
No Sty. You don't ss, uppercut and unload. No. The secret to mastering the true Doomfist combo is to ss, jump, shoot, uppercut, unload. The reason you jump is due to the way ss works. When on impact with a target, it causes said target to move upwards in the air as well as forwards. The jump then allows your crosshair to line up better with the target's head as they are forced into the air. This not only increases your overall damage output but makes the kill far more efficient, especially on squishies. Of course after the jump, you would uppercut and unload shots into the target until the kill is confirmed. THEN GET THE CRAP OUT OR YOUR FEEDING!
18:10, I'm not sure what silver widow's Sty is talking about, but I'm in silver and when I play against a widow, they will often get 3-4 headshots in a row, very consistently and in almost every game I play.
Honestly the doomfist guy was alright, he knew what he needed to do but to do that he needs accuracy and reaction time which seems to be lacking. Instead of going "aaahh you're doing it wrong" tell him what areas he needs to improve on rather than say what he should have done. As for the ability usage, it was fine. I am a doomfist main myself and wasting a punch that can one shot anything with 200hp or lower (if they hit the wall) is better than wasting it to run away. Use your slam or uppercut to run away so it's hard for people to hit you and you can run away easier if you are surrounded and can't find a way to get out. Using all three at once is not a good idea and you should always keep some options. I like to do punch uppercut (if not dead) and normal punch in mid air and then look for another opponent and slam to them whilst in mid air and shoot them with my 4 shots.

If they have a genji, he should be shutdown for the entire match because his team has moria and winston. two heroes that are really good at shutting down genji at all times, even when hes ulting. I assume you just picked genji at random to make your point about defence ults. Just somthing I wanted to nitpick.
Only problem I seeing is while he was playing Doomfist....he spent a lot of idle time doing nothing. When he did went to get a vantage point to see what target to pick off...he was out in the open while doing so. Also he need to wait for his cooldowns to reset before engaging in fights. His Pharah movements are pretty good tho

Guys I need help I’m a big flex player, always filling for my team, but I keep going from low diamond 3124 to high plat 2998, literally every time I play I go in a cycle let’s say I start at 3034 then win 3 games, I then lose those games and end up where I started
I find it so entertaining, and partly relieving too, that we have someone being stunned by how awful silver/gold play can be. Not to mention what kind of misplay someone can get away with! It's like acknowledging the craziness that happens in lower ranks. I remember starting in Bronze, now in Gold, and me and my team still do idiotic things. xD
The player's pharah was great, did pretty good without mercy pocketing, even used the roof to get a little bit of movement without boosting, that's the kind of pharah I want in my plat games

I hate it when every high rank player who hasn't been in bronze in the past couple years or EVER say that it's so easy for a solo queue to get to Plat. That is so crap! You can get a kill as Doom about every 7 to 8 seconds if you get lucky. But by the time you get the first two, your team is all dead. It doesn't matter what you individually do. You can't predict what anyone of your teammates will do or what your enemies will do. They are all doing random stuff. So get it out of your head that your diamond and above strats matter in bronze.
I know this video is a bit old now but I hope someone sees this, I do alot of the stuff well on doomfist like waiting for mates, getting high ground, finding the solo support or squishy for a good pick but even in high kill games where I prioritize using Slam + uppercut then use shots I always hover around 21% accuracy with primary fire. I feel like if I improve my aim I'll be able to climb alot faster and carry games as doomfist. Anyone have tips for getting better with doomfist shotgun aim?
“You are never stuck anywhere” I am very much stuck in bronze thank you very much. No matter how hard I try to climb I will never get out of that damn rank. Good placements? Nope. One trick D.Va since I’m at least okay as her? Nope. Flex to any role the team needs? Nope. Play a ton of hours to escape? Nope. I’ve played at least 15 hours this season so far and have gone nowhere but down. That is called stuck.
Today I played a game of competitive Overwatch with my brother and our friend. We had a trashcan who couldn't heal and mained genji and reaper, he said the most kills he got with his genji ult was 2. We also had a tank who couldn't do much and played orisa on attack. The other guy was a healer and good dps so atleast it wasn't 3 people trying to carry 3 people while being against a 6 stack. It was Hollywood, I played Pharah, my friend played Moira, my brother played Reinhardt. I got pocketed by mercy so managed to get 3 picks at the start, rein charged in, moira killed a few but 4 of us got ulted by their dva so the push stopped. It got to 30 seconds remaining and we took the point and we managed to get it despite of the whole team but me getting healed and one of our tanks doing nothing. We carried on the payload nearly to second point but we had one push so lost it. The next round we had the same comp, they had their first push and we lost the first point. They nearly got to where we got (bearing in mind it was their first push) I switched to lucio because i was getting shot out the sky and i felt our healer needed a chance to go dps (she went reaper and did pretty good). They lost the push and we managed to hold it because we had moira (close heals) and lucio (protective ult and close heals). We managed to hold the point when they had 5 minutes to get it just because we switched our comp and because we r clutching gods ;) but by me using lucios ult and moira healing everyone (in general and with ult) we were able to build a stable comp, by using lucios ult, none of their temporary ults would mean anything - genjis, zaryas, reins etc - it also meant by using the ult we were basically cancelling reins, zaryas and genjis so we could use more of our own like reapers. Anyway we clutched it up and i was extremely happy - it is not by bad teammates that you lose, it is by the characters you play, by the team you build with your input. Now that kids is how you climb - also dont play competitive when you are level 50 or under, play at like level 80 because it means alot to some people...
I'm mid diamond and I honestly believe his pharah play deserves plat maybe low-mid? but doomfist his engages was so bad the timing but then again he knows how to move around the map with doomfist (Punching into edges and launching yourself into the air) which I guess makes up for a very small portion so I guess gold?

There are maps where defending past the choke is actually advantagious. Such as Volskaya 2nd point (assuming the enemy team doesn't have a Lucio).

Pharah can be insanely good at those lower ranks because simply, people can't aim. I mean holy hell, it seems like the D.Va had the right idea to charge the Pharah but just had abysmal aim with the rockets and looked the entire wrong way. The Pharah was alot better, but with this person saying they've been playing Pharah since at least Season 3 then there are some big mistakes this person didn't show in the video.

I find these videos frustrating. The fact that sty is supposed to be helping to coach these people to better their plays. Instead seems to takes the piss out of the player who is literally supplying his channel with content. I feel when sty takes these videos seriously hes one of the best. But mocking a player is not great.

Moved from ps4 to Pc like a year ago, thought I could be a god with Hanzo, was placed in bronze. I started playing Winston or Main tank in general and made from 1367 to 2455 in 1 season with a 76% win rate... I dont know how people stay stuck in Bronze/Silver/Gold....
I guess that having played the game on PS4 before would give you a game sense advantage on the bronze players you were with, even though your hanzo mechanical skill was equal to them. I'd guess you were successful as Winston as he is much more focussed on game awareness than mechanical skill

To be fair, I feel some of it is just the climb. I played 200 games last season an barely made it to Gold. On my alt Im already being paired with plats. I feel the longer you fuck around in a rank the more of a grind it is to get out, even if your skills did maybe improve

I experience exactly this in every single one of my games. I'm stuck on as solo tank or heals and there's 4 dps on my team (0 of them are hit scan). The enemy team has a pharrah and she WRECKS EVERYONE for the entire game. Nobody....and I mean nobody know how to "counter" pharrah in these ranks. It's a free win for the pharrah team every single time.

I quit OW a long time ago, but your tips and tricks helped get out of silver and into high plat. You made me flex. Whenever I was in a situation where I had to make good plays every time I remember your tips. And when I reached gold I found Rien really OP so I started watching your videos for tips as well. I carried games, I carried my friends to plat (I AM NOT FUCKING HAPPY ABOUT THAT). When I reached mid plat I became a GENGU main and already new everything about Genji. The only time I'd try to learn something is either from random Genji mains or Pros.
For doomfist you dont need your 2 abilities to kill someone you can manage to kill someone with seismic slam using all your shotgun shots and a punch to finish them plus you get a free uppercut to kill someone else
No Sty. You don't ss, uppercut and unload. No. The secret to mastering the true Doomfist combo is to ss, jump, shoot, uppercut, unload. The reason you jump is due to the way ss works. When on impact with a target, it causes said target to move upwards in the air as well as forwards. The jump then allows your crosshair to line up better with the target's head as they are forced into the air. This not only increases your overall damage output but makes the kill far more efficient, especially on squishies. Of course after the jump, you would uppercut and unload shots into the target until the kill is confirmed. THEN GET THE CRAP OUT OR YOUR FEEDING!

Honestly the doomfist guy was alright, he knew what he needed to do but to do that he needs accuracy and reaction time which seems to be lacking. Instead of going "aaahh you're doing it wrong" tell him what areas he needs to improve on rather than say what he should have done. As for the ability usage, it was fine. I am a doomfist main myself and wasting a punch that can one shot anything with 200hp or lower (if they hit the wall) is better than wasting it to run away. Use your slam or uppercut to run away so it's hard for people to hit you and you can run away easier if you are surrounded and can't find a way to get out. Using all three at once is not a good idea and you should always keep some options. I like to do punch uppercut (if not dead) and normal punch in mid air and then look for another opponent and slam to them whilst in mid air and shoot them with my 4 shots.

Only problem I seeing is while he was playing Doomfist....he spent a lot of idle time doing nothing. When he did went to get a vantage point to see what target to pick off...he was out in the open while doing so. Also he need to wait for his cooldowns to reset before engaging in fights. His Pharah movements are pretty good tho

Guys I need help I’m a big flex player, always filling for my team, but I keep going from low diamond 3124 to high plat 2998, literally every time I play I go in a cycle let’s say I start at 3034 then win 3 games, I then lose those games and end up where I started

The player's pharah was great, did pretty good without mercy pocketing, even used the roof to get a little bit of movement without boosting, that's the kind of pharah I want in my plat games

I hate it when every high rank player who hasn't been in bronze in the past couple years or EVER say that it's so easy for a solo queue to get to Plat. That is so crap! You can get a kill as Doom about every 7 to 8 seconds if you get lucky. But by the time you get the first two, your team is all dead. It doesn't matter what you individually do. You can't predict what anyone of your teammates will do or what your enemies will do. They are all doing random stuff. So get it out of your head that your diamond and above strats matter in bronze.

I know this video is a bit old now but I hope someone sees this, I do alot of the stuff well on doomfist like waiting for mates, getting high ground, finding the solo support or squishy for a good pick but even in high kill games where I prioritize using Slam + uppercut then use shots I always hover around 21% accuracy with primary fire. I feel like if I improve my aim I'll be able to climb alot faster and carry games as doomfist. Anyone have tips for getting better with doomfist shotgun aim?
Maybe play some arcade elimination, it can be pretty handy when practicing aim. If not arcade then just play alot of quick play, you'll be fine.

“You are never stuck anywhere” I am very much stuck in bronze thank you very much. No matter how hard I try to climb I will never get out of that damn rank. Good placements? Nope. One trick D.Va since I’m at least okay as her? Nope. Flex to any role the team needs? Nope. Play a ton of hours to escape? Nope. I’ve played at least 15 hours this season so far and have gone nowhere but down. That is called stuck.
Today I played a game of competitive Overwatch with my brother and our friend. We had a trashcan who couldn't heal and mained genji and reaper, he said the most kills he got with his genji ult was 2. We also had a tank who couldn't do much and played orisa on attack. The other guy was a healer and good dps so atleast it wasn't 3 people trying to carry 3 people while being against a 6 stack.
It was Hollywood, I played Pharah, my friend played Moira, my brother played Reinhardt. I got pocketed by mercy so managed to get 3 picks at the start, rein charged in, moira killed a few but 4 of us got ulted by their dva so the push stopped. It got to 30 seconds remaining and we took the point and we managed to get it despite of the whole team but me getting healed and one of our tanks doing nothing. We carried on the payload nearly to second point but we had one push so lost it. The next round we had the same comp, they had their first push and we lost the first point. They nearly got to where we got (bearing in mind it was their first push) I switched to lucio because i was getting shot out the sky and i felt our healer needed a chance to go dps (she went reaper and did pretty good). They lost the push and we managed to hold it because we had moira (close heals) and lucio (protective ult and close heals). We managed to hold the point when they had 5 minutes to get it just because we switched our comp and because we r clutching gods ;) but by me using lucios ult and moira healing everyone (in general and with ult) we were able to build a stable comp, by using lucios ult, none of their temporary ults would mean anything - genjis, zaryas, reins etc - it also meant by using the ult we were basically cancelling reins, zaryas and genjis so we could use more of our own like reapers.
Anyway we clutched it up and i was extremely happy - it is not by bad teammates that you lose, it is by the characters you play, by the team you build with your input. Now that kids is how you climb - also dont play competitive when you are level 50 or under, play at like level 80 because it means alot to some people...
I'm mid diamond and I honestly believe his pharah play deserves plat maybe low-mid? but doomfist his engages was so bad the timing but then again he knows how to move around the map with doomfist (Punching into edges and launching yourself into the air) which I guess makes up for a very small portion so I guess gold?
