Eric, many thanks for taking the time. My catamaran is red so I will use the black sharpie. The numbers won't blow off in the wind. I find in any endeavor like this, being legal to the letter of the law on as many things as possible is key that way if there is an infraction that gets noticed, wardens will usually let one off with a warning, but if everything is messed up, not so much. Again appreciate your time on this.
My pleasure! I've learned all this because I've been stopped multiple times by the rangers. They were nice to me thankfully.
Thank you for the videos you upload about the boats, it helps a lot.
Well done and keep it up.
My pleasure and thank you!!
Well concerning Boat registration plates ... I don't understand why it has a 4 star rating when the first page reviews calls them junk. So I looked into making my own plate from PVC ... etc. Thin 4 x 4 was too flimsy, the thicker was expensive, and not sure if they would float. Anyway ... I decided to 60 inch of 4 inch wide PVC pipe and 4 Caps. Cut it half put the caps and the decal on ... and they float if I loose them in the water ... etc. Works out pretty good for Sea Eagle inflatable paddleboard at the bow for it can be tied down with storage bag.
Sounds like you have it handled, well done 👏
Also ... if anybody wants to try this make one end cap for each screw on\off and you can store some gear in them ... etc.
Thank you for this video! Have to register my inflatable kayak this year.
It is my pleasure and thanks for watching!
I’m going to try the sharpie using the sticker as a stencil. Good idea. I’m trying to figure out how to attach the Florida decal. I’m tempted to put the numbers on the boat and the decal on the motor.
I got stop by the Florida rangers and they said it needs to be on the left side of the boat. They are picky about it
Great video!! Just a heads up, in California they won't allow the numbers on the plates anymore, they must be permanently attached. Learned that the hard (expensive ticket!!) way. Love your videos!!
Ouch! California is tough!!
Noooooo and i just made the plates
If they do the job, it's all good. Be safe out in the water
How much for your ticket?
Hi Erick, Thanks for your very informative videos. One tip re lettering with stencils and sharpie: Don't use HH-66 Vinyl Cement as a waterproof coating over the sharpie ink, because the sharpie color will run. Instead, use Krylon Crystal Clear spray-- no muss, no fuss, works perfectly.
I've used it on two of my NY boat registrations for my Saturns.
Krypton Crystal Clear Spray. Good to know thank you. 😊
Hope you're getting out on the Water over the weekend, it's nice out, well here at least😃 It's beginning to look a lot like spring & I love it!Great video my friend.
💙Blessings
Thank you very much! Today I am catching up with some video requests, this one and the one currently uploading on how to fix a leaky drain valve. Next weekend I am planning on visiting The Rainbow River Run in Dunnellon, FL.
@@ErickMartinSucre you will be there with half the state population and snowbirds. Have fun with the crowds. I try tried to get in there to camp for next week but I was about a year too late because of spring break.
I’m gonna Velcro the sign. Thanks for the video
Velcro works as well. Be safe out there and have a great time 👍
I have a big fish 120 and the material of the yak is porous I can't get letters to stick at all, what is your thought on using the sharpie for this or even paint
Maybe the silver colored sharpie might work.
Hello Erick, do you know how many registration plates by law you have to put on the dinghy, if one on each side or only one on one side?
One on the left side, on the right just the numbers
Happy Weekend Erick!!
Happy weekend Travis!
@@ErickMartinSucre Thank You Thank You!! 🤗💪👍🏻✊🏻👊🏻
where do i get the vinyl letters? many thanks!
On Amazon, there is quite an extensive selection too. amzn.to/3IZVYny
Hello Erick. I am getting from this video that sticking the vinyl letters to the inflatable boat would not work?
No, they tend to peel off.
One of the problems and using a sharpie is through time dealing with PVC and even hyper line the ink can bleed and spread within the material. Are used to Mark PVC vinyl with sharpie for part number identification and my company and in about 3 to 6 months it would bleed and not look as clean down the road.
I had that issue with other colors, but black sharpie does not bleed
$4 stencil letters from homedepot, $4 spray paint from homedepot. Duct tape all and spray it several coats, dries fully in a week. Stays forever.
That's another way or doing it
Stencils work great, but spray paint or marker isn't the "best" option! The best option I have found is a vinyl DYE made by VHT. It sprays on like paint, but is far more permanent and durable. Unlike paint that sits on top; the dye penetrates deep into the PVC fabric, and it won't come off on clothing or anything else. I have used it on three inflatable boats over the years. It's great stuff!!!
Thanks for the video. Where did you get those vinyl letters?
In Amazon. They have several different colors and types

Watching other utuber- I used spray paint and it was a bad idea, it started to chip after few times of folding of my boat, sharpie is a great idea
Thank you! So far it has held pretty well.
@@ErickMartinSucre thanks for sharing!
Anytime 😊
Hello! And if I bought a boat on the aliexpress website and all the documents came in Chinese, what should I do?
If there is a way to translate it and copy it to a different piece of paper, you should be able to do it. If all fails, and if possible, return it and buy a Saturn: alnk.to/6bUtg64
@@ErickMartinSucre Thank you very much!
Anytime 😊
Thanks man!
Glad I can be of any help.
What boat brand is that? Cool little boat!
That is my Saturn SK385XL inflatable kaboat. My other one is a Saturn ZK380 inflatable kaboat.
Do you ever use a anchor also do you know a good anchor for a flowing river
I got a 5 pound anchor but have yet to use it. My boat has transom wheels so whenever I stop at an island, I bring the boat inland with me.
@@ErickMartinSucre thanks Eric
@@Mypitbull82 My pleasure, although I wasn't of any help lol
can you help me . how can i register my boat in california and what do i need to go to dmv
I use my receipt and a bill of sale. Tye bill of sale usually comes from the seller.
Smart.
Thank you 😊
I believe the U.S. Coast Guard requires the numbers to be permanently attached as well. They don't accept numbers mounted on a separate plate.
These were the instructions given to me by the coast guard in Tampa Bay for inflatables.
@@ErickMartinSucre Where did you purchase those license plates
@@fishgod20 I got them from Amazon amzn.to/3vemNOu
Hello my family 💯
Hey hey! Happy weekend James!
