Please never get discouraged by the amount of views and keep uploading. I love your diy videos, your channel actually pushed me into getting my own sewing machine which I'm greatful for the amount of money I save prototyping my own gear. I know I will be bit cheeky but would you fancy doing any tutorial for inverted bandolier like the invrt one?
Thanks! I have fun making the videos and most of the stuff I film are projects I would make anyway so I doubt I’d stop any time soon.
I’d have to look into those bandoliers. I’ll add it to the idea list
@@thriftyoperator637 I'm glad to hear that. If I can suggest instead of molle and pouches you could use retention for the mags like on the shingles but anyway keep up the good work.
@@prichardson8471 Yeah, that's what I've been doing for a while. I just wanted to try something different.
Great advice! Yeah this channel deserves over 100,000 subscribers. This is living proof that many mega channels that got super big followings are fake, or manipulated and bought their way to become shills and influencers.
I already tinker a lot with guns. This was my next logical step. Of course before I launch into an ADHD fueled spiral looking up sewing. You are the first to pop up when I searched diy chest rigs. I’m going to give you a like and subscribe! Very informative for sure
I appreciate it!
Gotta be one of the most straight forward rigs and Tutorials I've seen.
I've been trying some simple designs or modifying things I've seen here for about a month and I've given out probably 20-30 items to friends and randoms who are actually using them in training. Keep up the good work!
That's great to hear. Thanks for spreading the gear around.
Glad I found this channel! Nice and simple chest rig, so many fresh ideas.
If anyone is interested, grab some 1" and 1¹/²" tape. Makes MOLLE a lot easier to layout after measuring, and the tape keeps it all even and from moving around while sewing.
Another awesome video that I'll be putting to good use. Im making a modular Yoke set up where I can swap out packs all while utilizing a battle/hunting belt and this chest rig will adapt perfectly. Well done sir!
Just found your channel. Awesome tutorial. Liked and subbed.
Nice!
AWESOME STUFF!! I really like DIY! Working on a rig now!
Awesome as always. Love from Greece!
What is the purple insert you used?
I was looking for this exact knowledge, and here you are :) Thanks
Dude your videos are fucking awesome I have a lot of friends who are an even worse budget than I am and your videos help them a lot
Thanks that’s always good to hear
Another great video. However I do prefer when you verbally walk us through each step rather than the music.
Thanks for the feedback
Awesome!
Just like always
I think Im gonna try this one
You should. It was a really fun build.
YOUR VIDEOS ARE ALWAYS AMAZING
Thanks
Bro u litterally saved me tons of Money due to your existance.
If u wanna know more: my mom Is a professional sewer but She Just left me with "too difficult i ha e no model for referring", and than you came. Ahahahahaha
Happy to be of service
Have you ever tried to do any laser cut style pals? like instead of using a laser to cut them, using a 1 inch leather slot punch or a hot knife and cutting out with a template? I am thinking about experimenting with it. I love your videos, you are 80% the reason why I got a heavy duty sewing machine.
I have thought about it but just never tried it. I do have a laser cutter that I need to experiment with more.
Nice one!
I think i like X Harness more then H harness!
What do you prefer?
Also what is the black fabric loop on the bottom of the chestrig for?
Is it elastic material? For tourniquet?
I don’t really have a preference. I use both. Yeah it’s for a tourniquet
would it be ok to get your logo
and use it for made things?
How are you using your kit? Would love to know about the longevity of it under use.
How well this stuff wears usually depends on the quality of material. I usually buy off brand Velcro because it’s so much cheaper but it wears out faster. Just depends on how often you plan on making a new one. I make so much stuff I swap out my kit before I wear the old one out.
Is that padding underlayment for floating floors? I don’t have a home diy project coming up to take scraps from and don’t want to spend $70 for a roll of that. What else could be used?
Any flexible foam. Or you could use another piece of fabric.
what thread did you use for sewing and is this resistent enough to actually be carry heavy mags ?
Bonded nylon. Yes
@@thriftyoperator637 noice. bout to make my own
Do you think I'll be able to do this with 500D fabric and a Singer 1306 Start machine?
I am not familiar with that machine but this doesn’t have too many layers so…. Probably
Music slaps, great vid B)
Thanks
what kind of cloth did you use? is it some kind of nylon or will any cloth I want work?
You can use whatever but I used 500D Cordura nylon.
Great videos man. What is the purple material?
Some thin foam for padding and structure. It’s the stuff they put under floated floors.
@@thriftyoperator637 thanks for the info. Can you make a video on your sewing machines?
@@SlytigerSurvival I’m probably not the guy to make that video. I don’t really know much about them
@@thriftyoperator637 do you have a link to the foam?
@@13Cooperw sorry, I do not. Mine is foam to go under floated floors but most thin foam should work.
What material is the purple insert? (Foam padding they put under floated flooring)
Nevermind, found it in the comments. Ty!
sorry i know this is an older video, but do you know roughly how much of the fabric was used? meters or yards, thank you
Not much. One yard should be plenty
Do you use still use this rig? Is it comfortable? Are there any things you would change if you were making it again?
I still use it some. I would better center the tourniquet sleeve.
will a cheap sewing machine work for this
Yeah, I think so.
any place i can get the sewing patterns and dimensions?
Dimensions are written on the fabric.
Have you made an H harness? Because I want this with an h harness.
Watch the micro chest rig video
@@thriftyoperator637 rewatching it now.
hey bro i love your vids and i even got my girl to try some of it aparrently i have 2 left thummbs for sewing anyways have you tried doing a thigh rig? i cant find anything on that?
I have not but I bet you could make a smaller version of this chest rig, add a belt loop to the top and a couple thigh straps
@@thriftyoperator637 hey what is the pink "interfacing"? i have no idea if thats what sits called
@@rosarionot6873 just some thin foam
Thigh rig is terrible every time
What type of material is that? Are there comments?
500D Cordura Nylon
