Mesenbrink is all business. It will be interesting to see how far he goes this year. He is quick and nimble about how he goes around his opponent to get an advantage, kind of like RBY was. And then he constantly goes on the attack to snatch ankles, like Taylor. Opponents cannot rest for even a second or two. He is right back on them. Iowa fans are going to hate him for sure.
Hes good enough to win it this year. I wont predict it, but i woukdnt be shocked if he beat Carr and O'Tool.

Or rather I should say I’m not expecting it rather than not seeing it. Because Messenbrink COULD beat both. Just a question of if he will.

Mesenbrink is a beast, I see a lot of old school techniques along with his quickness and tenacity.
He's kinda like a combination of Zain Retherford/Jason Nolf, but a bit more relentless than those other guys.
Absolute Hammer...look out Otoole and Carr
I wish I was more cutthroat as a wrestler back when I wrestled like Mesenbrink here. He’s not doing anything brutal, but his constant pressure and relentless attacks just break guys. Olguin is no slouch and even has some nice defense against Mesenbrink’s attacks; however, Mesenbrink chain wrestles 4 to 5 moves together with no fear. Then, small details like letting Olguin get set on bottom before letting him up for neutral is just mentally taxing on a guy like Olguin’s caliber. I always loved that - let the guy take all the time getting ready and then forcing them to come up on their feet. He reminds me of a young Jason Nolf. Excited to see where he stacks up against guys like Amine and Hamiti. Don’t see him beating a Carr or O’Toole yet.

This dude is the real deal so glad I don’t have to watch facundo do the happy dance with his opponent for 5 and half minutes until some action this year
The writing was on the wall for Facundo- apparently Messinbrink was throwing him around this fall.
@@cmap4519Well, now Facundo has taken an Olympic redshirt and although I doubt he gets in for the Olympics, since there's a LOT of seriously talented dudes going for that weight, I could see Facundo coming back and doing some great things next season with some serious Freestyle wrestling under his belt.
