    Gee, thanks UA-cam for not showing me a video by a channel I subscribe to; a channel where I always comment and thumbs up. How nice of you to not show it in either recommended or subscriptions where it should always ****ing be! GRRR! I love it when I click on a channel and find that I have missed a video by them, despite having every possible warning system engaged.
    Nice work as usual, Mr Floyd!

      Thanks, Mr. Arcanics ;) I don't know what's happening at the moment, but right now every video is losing subscribers. Back to the Raspberry PI stuff, I guess (dreadful sysadmin stuff ftw!). :-)

      Looking forward to meet you in real life! :-) Also, a good opportunity for you to try some devices and see if you could use those instead of a DAW for your live performances and recordings.

    Thank you, I’am learning very much on your approach to make key groups.. Questions? Can you flatten a hole program? So the effects you are using in the key group don’t eat to much cpu.

    • @mr_floydst
      @mr_floydst  3 роки тому +1

      Hi! Yes, that's possible, you can resample your edits. But on a program like the one I showed here, it's just not necessary as the CPU time the filters eat away are negligible.

    Very cool, looks like a lot of fun! I'm a huge fan of the TAL-Sampler VST which has a similar workflow (I think largely inspired by the EMUII, so maybe a little bit more lo-fi!), great little synth to work with!

      Hi, thanks for watching! Yes, it's fun. And yes, the MPC has inherited a lot of DNA of the classic samplers of the 80s and 90s.

    Hi 👋
    Is it also possible to put them one shot notes into legato mode like the MPC synth plug in?
    Thank you for sharing Sir.

    • @mr_floydst
      @mr_floydst  3 роки тому +1

      Hi, thanks for visiting! :-) Yes, it's possible. It's a bit more work setting up the loops so you don't "run out of sample", but once that's done, you can play legato and portamento.

    Thank you for taking us through your process.
    Your thoughts about the MPC verses the 1010Black Box? I like all the features of the MPC One but also like the 1010 Blackbox sample streaming from FLASH card. Do you find that the MPC One provides enough sample time for your performances? Gratefully.

    • @mr_floydst
      @mr_floydst  3 роки тому +1

      Hi, thanks for watching! I like the Blackbox but it's quite obvious Akai has decades of experience. Blackbox is small and can do granular sampling and streaming, but the Akai is playing in another league. The sample time is more than enough to create a long track with all 8 audio tracks while having some sample based intruments in RAM. (15 to 20 Minuten)

      @@mr_floydst I think they are both great. Like the wise choices you've made with the other products you use. Also use Peak and Reaper. I'll take your advice and take a deeper look at the MPC One.

    • @mr_floydst
      @mr_floydst  3 роки тому +2

      @@winddealer1 Thank you! The Blackbox has big potential and support is great, as is it's form factor and hardware. But it's really no comparison to what the MPC can do. The sequencer, effects, soft synths, sampling capabilities, user interface design and live performance possibilities on that box are miles ahead. E.g. on the Blackbox, you _can_ have keygroups, but (at the time) it wasn't possible to edit them, and the loops I meticulously set up are completely ignored in keygroup mode. Also, only 2 effects and 2 filters, while MPC throws those at you in spades and has no problem applying multiple filters on one patch while playing 5 other tracks with plugin synths.

    Great video man! I just wish someone would do a comprehensive beginner 's guide to how to connecting live instruments, microphones to the MPC(One,Live), especially from the standpoint of someone who plays live instruments. Show us "what goes into what" and why! A lot of new people like me are not that interested in samples and beats of other people's sounds but would like to use the Mpc to recording my music.

      @@mr_floydst Thank you Floyd. I will. I write on acoustic guitar and digital piano, I just bought an MPC one and have zero knowledge in how to use it for "my workflow". So far I must have watched at least 40 hours worth of video on UA-cam mostly from beatmakers. ( I like listening to all that stuff, but it's not what I do). So thanks again!
