With every fault we encounter in our vehicles we learn new things, either hard or easy way, I hope you did extensive troubleshooting first before changing this part.
Learn new things we did. Plenty of troubleshooting done and deducted that the steering rack required replacement. The steering coupling was..... a fortunate mishap. i will be releasing another video soon whereby I replaced the steering motor bush. At least no mishap in that DIY.
did replacing the intermediate shaft fix the chatter on the bumpy/ruff roads ? I have replaced the P/S bushing but still have chatter if driving over small bumps .
you will need to sent to a shop that has the proper equipment to test to be sure. These type of chatter can be coming from the intermediate shaft, steering rack, inner or outer tie rods or lower control arms.
Just bought a toyota alphard 2008 in uk I absolutely love your channel bro.just one question to you can you please tell me where did you find the correct torque measurements for this type off car I've searched high and low for a technitian level service manual.
Congratulations on your purchase. I search around using google as well. Not easy at all and sometimes i just use the torque settings from a similar car. Even finding videos on how to repair this car is difficult.
Hi, I’ve got a Toyota Alphard hybrid 2014 ATH20 series. The steering rod rack (as you do) needs changing. I wanted to ask you as, I couldn't find the exact part for my vehicle. My part OEM number which I found on Google is 45510-58040. However, on eBay I found it and as: ANH20(with this OEM Number) 45510-28190 and the seller said it will definitely fit my car. IS THIS THE SAME compatible part for my car? I mean, is the part in the ANH20 model suitable for the ATH20? (Are the parts compatible) Thanks
i really can't answer that cause I have no experience with ATH20. Logically should be the same but the fact that yours is a hybrid.... i can't say for certain. What you can do is remove your steering rod rack and bring it to the shop to do a comparison.
Hi smokexy. I too have a 2014 Alphard ATH20 hybrid and I too am having to replace a inner tie Rod. Again like you I can’t find a like for like replacement. How did you overcome the problem?
@@paul_nic Hi, I didn't find the second hand part. I found the original one from Japan. But it was quite expensive. Because it comes in a whole set. Not only the inner tie road it comes full set.
Actually car owner we should build a DIY society to exchange experiences and auto parts source. I just bought a steering rack which made in China. Facebook estima club or vellfire club are full of kaki cari makan instead want to share experiences. I live in small town where the estima owner keep slaughtered by the workshop. We can't get the Real feedback on that kind of FB group.
Most of the FB groups I join has a lot of people there just to promote their business. Or people that will just give negative or unhelpful comments when people ask for help. Not saying all the people but there is a bunch that behaves in that manner only. I try to help as much as I can while promoting my channel. Add me up on FB (TC Anything Goes Channel)

4 O2 sensor replacement on alphard 20. Can you show me
Where to source the thai rack?
Where can I buy this brand shaft?
how much the steering rack cost in malaysia?
Bro…, how you hold the sub-frame after dismantled it?
with my hands...... its heavy but manageable.
Bro, want to ask, is there a bush for steering rack to subframe bolt & nut?
10 series = YES
20 series = NO
Hope this helps. I know cause I bought the bush and found out that my car does not need it.
Bro…, when you removed the sub-frame, what about the engine? How you hold the engine to not falling down?
it was still held on by 2 engine mounts hence it did not fall off.
Cool…. Thx bro
