You don't have to be young if you are smart ie shaking the jar. Add the toasted butter pecans AFTER you use an immersion blender for 30-60 seconds to thicken the other ice cream ingredients :)

Yes! Great minds think alike! (and having hand/arm pain to contend with gets our creative minds working towards alternatives) Except I was thinking I can make it in my Vitamix blender without the pecans then add them when done blending. But maybe I'll get my immersion blender stick out... Either way, can't wait to try this, I am CRAZY about butter pecan ice cream.

You can use a mixer with all the ingredients, then fold in the nuts or chocolate chips or other add-ins. Takes the work out of it, and turns out exactly the same.

To keep the ice cream from turning rock hard in the freezer, add a tablespoon of vodka. Alcohol does not freeze and will keep the ice cream scoopable and will not alter the taste. Not too much carbs either

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to both of you. Keto has changed (and probably saved) my life and the two of you are a big part of that. The recipes that you put out make keto so much easier than many others that I've found. I appreciate the time you put into testing out your recipes to make them as delicious as possible before you make videos on them. I also appreciate all the research you've done and how you make things easier to understand. I've become pretty good at reading food labels and ingredient lists thanks to you guys. I could ramble on, but long story short....THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

I absolutely agree that as long as you blend the mixture at a constant speed any mixing machine would work. You could even use a food processor. Or what about an immersion blender? I am going to try this but I will use half as much pecans. Also, instead of letting the pecans cool in the hot pan, transfer them to a plate. That pan will stay hot a longer time and that's why it took 20-30 minutes.

I got tired of waiting. (for it to freeze). so I just make whipped cream.. add the cooled pecans .. eat it. Be happy.
... oh.. almost forgot... add erythritol to the butter and pecans as you toast them... and you will get toffee bits... mmmmmm

I worked at Baskin Robbins from the age of 14-18, and one of the things I learned is you always want to leave hard ice cream to thaw for 10 minutes on the counter. 😊 And whatever container it's in upside down.

My great-grandmother always had a tub of butter pecan and a tub of plain vanilla in her freezer. Only flavors I ever saw her eat. (Velvet ice cream. If you're ever in ohio you should try it. Its amazing. No way its keto though, lol.) Was awesome having ice cream with her, the stories she'd tell. Lol. The big treat when she was a kid was a 5 cent mug of rootbeer in downtown Newark, Ohio. A good memory. Thank you for this recipe. 😊

If making a Chocolate Icecream. Add tablespoon of Whiskey. Some people suggested Vodka so it doesnt freeze like a rock. This will do the same effect but give the chocolate more of a rich milky chocolate taste like HagenDas ect.... Well Worth it.

That remark she made about "older people" probably would not be able to shake the jar long enough...I was like, WHAT?? I know she didn't mean to be judgmental or offensive, but she needs to get out and find more elders, find out what all they're really capable of. I'm a 65-yr-old woman, and even with arthritis in some of my fingers, and fibromyalgia, I could still give that jar a GOOD shake! ( And no hubby to pass it off to, unfortunately). I don't mean to sound all offended or grumpy, because I'm not feeling that way at all. I'm just standing up for us seniors who still have some good strength in us! Btw, I'm going to love trying some of these ice cream recipes....Thank you!

Put in plastic container top shelf in frig.. that evening will get small bowl add blueberries and dollop of my cream-yum.. esp if it’s chocolate.. honey loves lemon so he gets berries and both chocolate and lemon..wonder can I whip the cream before then add nuts etc for the same results... hmmmm
