This is pretty cool, pretty excited to go there one day with my partner and son. My partner has just been doing some ancestry research and she has found out big part of her ancestry is Orcadian, which is pretty cool, hence why we are so interested in visiting the place sooner or later. It definitely seems like normality compared to the hustle and bustle my family endures here in the south of England near London.
Hello from Malta. Love your video clips.I love how obidient the dog is waiting in front of the door. What are their names? Orkney isles are beautiful I only had the opportunity to visit Kirkwall, Stromess and Hoy. Thanks for the tours, and hope you are enjoying every minute of tranquility.
I am soooooooooooooo envious-not joking! Can i come and live with you (in your shed?)-just me in the shed!Shetland would be even further/better-than mere Manchester!Best of luck on your very own wind battered/ocean gnarled paradise island.x
Hello Alexander, thank you so much for your heartwarming comment! :D You are very welcome to visit us (and our sheds) whenever you like - Eday is so beautiful and full of untamed nature! We thought of Shetland but it was more expensive than Orkney at the time and all James wanted was to live on an island, so here we are! Living on an island! It certainly is ocean gnarled though - very well put! x
Hahaaa - the local pub on the island closed down long before we got here and is just a bed and breakfast. . . So the nearest pub is 1.5 hours away by boat, and the last boat leaves town at 1600hrs! I do take advantage of it when I am working away in town, otherwise, peoples homes are meeting places for dinner, a drink or two and a catch up!
Congrats on your new home. I spent about an hour touring Orkney via google earth. It looks like a wonderful place.
I grew up there; clean air, clean beaches and great people.
May your dreams come true at your new home.
I love orkeny it's such a good place to live I wish I have a chance to go through

I’m so jealous wish it were me
Are you still there?
I would really like to know if you've been down to the local pub. Seems to me, outside of socializing, you'd have little need.
