Godzilla just wanted to go for a walk and ask Japan how's their health plan.
Apparently it was great.
If we went to Brazil, would he give Jesus a hug?
😂😂
He is getting chonky.
@@uriahladra7613 This is why Hollywood never does destruction scene at that specific location lol. I hope Japan will make another Godzilla movie in Brazil. I want to see what would happen to that statue.
@@HuanLeVuong Godzilla X Kong's final battle was actually set there, I dont remember anything happening to the statue though.

It wasn't perfect at all very overrated

I went into the theatre to see this and had no expectations. it blew me away. I did not expect a Godzilla movie to make me cry. And it's absolutely worth reading into the movie and all the symbolism.
I cried 5 times I’m such a baby 😭
Dude it's showing god Zilla during day time what do you expect amazing
Finally at day time
This is not just some silly action monster movie. The characters seem real and you care about them. The action isn't ridiculous BS. Reminds me of how Joker wasn't a comic book movie.
$15 million budget! To make this awesome film! That is just incredible work from a small team! Thru deserve so much more recognition!
Amazing job they did. The director even said it was actually less than 15. Fantastic piece of work they accomplished

So true. The amount of money Hollywood spent on blockbuster movies is wasted. There are some Countries that make movies on a low budget become a blockbuster, classic, popular or all three. I was so glad the young lady was still alive. Great movie 10 plus and 5 plus stars!!!!!!!
Some people complaining why they upload the trailer now. Guy...Godzilla just shows up with no announcement...that's how Godzilla is.

I didnt like the theme song. It didn't fit with the overall tone of the movie.
Even after watching a 2nd time it throws into a cheer almost for godzilla.
Like judgemental day is standing right infront of me and I'm HERE FOR IT! ...
idk I think there's other parts of his main theme that should have been used instead

I'm a film snob; Scholarship in Film Studies, was planning on pursuing a doctorate in Film and teaching other film buffs. I love Films. I watch a TON of films. I've watched all the Godzilla films.
This might be the very best one. It is one of the few that has a central character; and what a fantastic, layered, and tragic character. It has real serious human drama; you see true consequences of the monster's rampage--No cute, tail-sliding Godzilla here. He's the personification of terror, loss, and the destruction of hope.
So it's set in the era where all of that fits flawlessly; Japan after the war. The government can't be trusted, the country is once again in horrific ruin, and a team of civilians and former sailors and soldiers must fix the problem.
Everything in this is so superbly done, and on a budget that laughs openly at the hundreds of millions spent in this country to give King Kong a power glove.
THIS is how Godzilla should be.
THIS is how a Godzilla movie should be made--leave it to the originators to carry on the story of GOJIRA like it should be.
Arigato Gozaimasu, Toho. Superb.
I loved this movie, and the new GxK which by the way only cost around 135m but made over 570m! I'm just happy they are making money and we are going to get a bunch more Godzilla/Kong/monster movies and shows.
I agree however I do enjoy Mothra vs Godzilla since it’s very silly but also has a great message and pretty good design and effects for the 60s
@@elisabethschmerzler963 Yeah, I love Mothra too; I love all the old ones. But MAN, is this one amazing.

I am not much of a Godzilla fan, but this movie was spectacular and deserves all the praise it can get!
not a fan either, only watched for action, but as a guy who have seen some of godzilla movies, i would say this one nailed the humans characterization aspect very well, it made you feel for them and dont want them to die.
Glad to hear this!
Me too! I haven’t seen a single Godzilla film before that but my friend hyped it so I decided to give it a try. Amazing!

@@themaximusone I’m ashamed of having fans like you, it’s a big reason why I enjoy toho movies more, and fix your grammar.
I’m so glad I got to see this movie again on Netflix. Ironically enough, Godzilla was the whole reason I bought Netflix to begin with (Back in 2018 when Polygon’s Godzilla Anime Trilogy was released on Netflix).
As a longtime Godzilla fan, I cannot overstate how thankful I am for this movie and EVERYTHING it has given me. The quality of the film, itself, and all of its achievements have gone above and beyond anything I could have dreamed this film’s success would be. “Minus One” has been the film that keeps on giving! ^^
I loved that trilogy, one of the most epic and powerful depictions of Godzilla ever.

Completely agreed
Wish it also nominated for Best Picture and Best Foreign Language Film

Mothra best girl!
This is my favorite Godzilla movie of all time and don't think any other recent Godzilla movie can hold a candle to this one, but I feel this movie deserved more Oscars than just one for Best Visuals.
Seriously. The storyline was incredible.
idk why but thats just me tho.. i think monsterverse godzilla is better.. dont get me wrong godzilla minus one is legit fire but i think the best godzilla movie of all time is godzilla king of the monsters and that opening scene on godzilla in 2014 was an absolute masterpiece, the cgi of the monsterverse is insane frfr but the cgi in godzilla x kong the new empire was pretty mid ngl idk why
In America godzilla is shown as a wwe wrestler and a hero whereas in Japan its a in original form and a villain
@@arjunkangralkar Blame the guy who decided to add in WWE moves in gxk, but the storyline of godzilla as in.. hes the protector, he keeps balance to the world, hes the last of his kind, he went through the most pain and still chose to keep order and balance to the world instead of becoming a villain, mf had every right to become a villain but he chose not to, so in godzilla vs kong when mechagodzilla almost killed him (he knew it was going to be his last moments) until kong arrived and helped so in the next movie, he legit had no chill and he went all out bcs godzilla was a lil bit too ego-istic in godzilla vs kong
@@arjunkangralkar This is a good description. Godzilla in the Legendary-verse is really just this weird mix of animal intelligence that humans can't begin to understand, and the sort of weird superheroic figure of a professional wrestler. He's not really the sort of monstrous incarnation of destruction the original film or Minus One set out to show him as, this force created by man's own hubris that can only be stopped temporarily. He's just out there to throw down, and woe to whatever gets in his way.
Minus One is the best Godzilla movie ever made.
One of the greatest movie ever made in the history of cinema
Wonderful film. I am not a Godzilla fan but a lover of great movies. This was incredible. Watched it 3x in cinema and on Netflix. Just pure cinema for 2 hours. Great story, screenplay, acting and drama from start to finish. The best film of 2023 for me.
Never watched a Godzilla movie in my life before this one…it was so good def worth the watch
Try Shin Godzilla as well
Congrats, it's one of the best. And, happy 13th birthday, I guess.
If you’re looking to get into the Franchise, some beginner friendly films I would reccommend are Gojira 1954 (The first Godzilla Movie), Godzilla Raids Again (1956, not to be confused with Godzilla 1984, speaking of which), Godzilla 1984, -God- Zilla 1998 (Hated by most but it should do pretty good for someone unfamiliar with the Franchise, just don’t watch it as your FIRST pick) and Godzilla 2014. You can expand your pallate from there by getting into either the Showa Era or the Millennium Era (You’d probably need to watch the Showa Era Films first)
@@Strider_Mane No way you asked them to watch Godzilla Raids Again.

OMG WHAT A MOVIE!! The way I burst into tears, twice 😭. Best Godzilla movie ever 💯
...really...Really...REALLY enjoyed this SO very much, in spite of and despite all the Oscar hype associated with it. The VFX is exceptional...and feels so organic in its slipstream of minutiae. The story is profoundly "human" and simultaneously upholds, grounds and relativizes the gigantic scale of its visual ambition, transformed into a very surprisingly intimate, very human story. Thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed it!!! A great reminder to Hollywood that huge VFX tentpoles can be crafted in ways that beat a very warm heart. It deserves all its accolades...and then some. Thank you Netflix for bringing it to the world.
Never in my life,i felt so devastated watching an action movie, you are back from war with PTSD, your life and country damaged, and then losing again, great acting, and thanks GOD it's a happy ending, otherwise i need more therapy

The ending isn't necessarily happy. Godzilla's regenerating and something's wrong with the girl as well.
Such an amazing film. Loved every minute of it.
I was in Japan October of 2023 and they were advertising the hell out of it. I was thinking how cool that there’s a new Godzilla coming out (I didn’t even know) so I asked my wife if we can go see it before we leave. Turns out the film came out Nov. 3rd and we were leaving October 27th. I was a little bummed but then I thought, no worries, I can check it out when we get back to the states…turns out we wouldn’t get it until December. 🤦♂️
It was worth the wait then.

Saw this in the theaters when it first came out, loved it. They did a fantastic job bringing back the feel of the great Godzilla movies of the past!!!
Best godzilla film I've seen. You actually care about the people and their perspective as they try to put their lives together while being haunted by him.
Good movie, if you followed the original series of Godzilla movies. I saw my first Godzilla movie in 1959 or 1960 when I was 7 years old. Great stuff for a young imagination to play off of. No "world-savior" monster in this one, just a destructive monster looking for a good time. And I loved how when his skin touched anything as he walked, that thing was destroyed, without denting his rubber suit (because this monster wasn't a guy in a costume, even though the monster was really bottom-heavy, like the original). Next came either Mothra or Rodan, I can't quite remember.
The best Godzilla movie ever!!
Toho really pushed the limits
Yeah, even with just 15 million budget!
Some Hollywood studios need to study this movie. Learn how to use a budget properly, learn how to make something enjoyable to the fans of that thing, etc
Most importantly learn how to script movies way way better

About dam time that this Kaiju Masterpiece is finally available to stream here in The US. Can't believe that we got not 1 but 2 awesome Godzilla movies at the same time: Godzilla x Kong and Godzilla Minus One, both of which represent two iconic eras of Godzilla movies with Godzilla Minus One harkening back to the spirit of the original Godzilla movie that started it all which told a dark serious dramatic narrative while Godzilla x Kong is reminiscent of the Showa Era of Godzilla movies featuring tons of crazy Kaiju action.
